This song is such a comfort. I am 76 & sometimes I don't like to think about the end because my family is far away., BUT this song makes me happy cause I will fly away. ❤️ I often sing it out. We all can get anxious IF WE LET OURSELVES! Thank you so much. Love to you & your family. ❤️💕 Can be so sad to see a house crumble. But it will go back to the earth. Sensitive of you to think about it.

Dearest Sister Mary E, though we know where we're going, it can be sad to think of leaving this life, even with its trials and tribulations. I have a large family, most close by, yet distant, due their walk or lack of a walk with Jesus. Not long ago, I was among them, so I'm not judging, but in continual prayer that we will all (you, yours and the Brethren) meet again in the glorious presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, where there will be no more sadness, tears, hate, oppression, hunger, fear, lies, loneliness. Only love, true love! James 1:17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." Hallelujah by n by, we'll fly away! I hope to know you there Sister, in the non-smoking section. 😊 p.s. I thought the same thing regarding the house and their thoughts of its current state.

They aren't out of tune like my relatives that I heard singing when I was a younger. One standing, three on a bench, all 3 playing and singing. One pumping the pedal, on a piano thing with knobs in German. But back them them ol' gals sound like Angels to me. I love to hear them now as much as I love hearing this. These gals here no outta tune.

I could listen to both of you talk all day! When I hear y'all talk it kind of puts me at ease and makes me comfortable. I really miss the Appalachian accent. I live in the Central Savannah River area of Georgia, currently, but I grew up in Southeast Tennessee where Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee all meet together. All Southern accents aren't created equal, for those of you that aren't from the South. Each area, in the South, has distinctive accents unique to that area. When I was growing up, I was able to distinguish an accent from different areas of my State as well as other Southern State's. Sometimes I still can if that person has a strong accent.

That old house is really something else. It is kind of eerie to see all their things in there just like they left them, and as you said, it makes you wonder why there was no one to come pick it up or care that it was left there. It really reinforces the vanity of accumulating a lot of this world's goods - we will all leave here one day, and we can't take any of it with us when we go. I am so happy you added this to the video. It was so interesting! I love you all so much and hope God will richly bless you for all you do!

Oh how this bring Precious Memories for me My Mama's favorite. I come from a musical family my Daddy and his brothers all played music and SANG and my Mama would harmonies with them and then anyone even us kids who could play or sing would join in. My Daddy was born and raised in the south in the Tri State of Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi but his family moved away during the Depression and went North to find work. Moved to southern ILLINOIS. He missed his home all his life went back a few times no family left there anymore. But he raised all his children with southern values many of them. One big one for him was for us kids and he himself you NEVER called your ELDER by their first name EVER. It was Mr and Mrs or Miss so and so. I ask him one day why? And he said Your Elder has earned it they have lived a long life and worked hard all their life and gained wisdom through their life and they deserve the respect and you must give them that RESPECT. To this day I can not call my elder by their first name and I am 64 years old. Thanks so much for sharing all your music with all of us. You both are very good at it. I also had to check out your Pap and family singing how beautiful that was and how that brought tears to my eyes because the memories for me flooded in like the mist in the hollows . Thanks again and May the Lord continue to Bless You and your channel.

Great job on your song ! I love all the Tulip Poplar trees around that old house . They are a unique shaped leaf and once you know em you'll never forget em! I delivered an old lawn tractor last spring to an old feller living in a house not much better than that house. He had several types of cancer & wife was gone ! House was out in the boonies! I imagine that's how houses become abandoned in such a manner! Sad .

I really did enjoy the video, both the song and the house. That house is so much like a town near me. I remember it thriving while I was growing up. Now it is almost gone. 70+ houses, a store, and a post office. At one time there were three times the houses. Now it is a handful of houses with no store or post office. People lived, loved, laughed, and cried there, my family included. Gone. Thanks for the video.

I grew up in a logging (sawmill) town until I left at age 18 to go to Vietnam. Everyone who lived in that little community ... their father worked at the lumbermill. It was one of those classic company owned towns. Around age 30 I went back to my home town ... only to find cows grazing where a million precious memories were recorded in my former back yard. It's a WEIRD feeling to see your town wiped off the face of the earth. Like the town got taken out by a small nuclear blast. The sawmill got shut down by the State and so the mill owner/s had to level the structures to make the rancher happy they originally leased in from the build the mill and the houses. Cows ONLY habitate that location now. Makes one realize everything on this planet is just temporary. Only thing that is forever is our soul and spirit being with God, isn't it? In case someone doesn't KNOW: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmiwaoeXeLdkbbM
