There's a new world somewhere They call the promised land And I'll be there someday If you could hold my hand I still need you there beside me No matter what I do For I know I'll never find another you There is always someone For each of us, they say And you'll be my someone Forever and a day I could search the whole world over Until my life is through But I know I'll never find another you It's a long, long journey So stay by my side When I walk through the storm You'll be my guide, be my guide If they gave me a fortune My pleasure would be small I could lose it all tomorrow And never mind at all But if I should lose your love, dear I don't know what I'd do For I know I'll never find another you But if I should lose your love, dear I don't know what I'd do For I know I'll never find another you Another you, another you

Thank you, John. Me too. As for this version, it is from the perspective of the other end of life when a busker loses the one who stood with him every step of the way. But this is Judith and the boys' song and always will be. :)

Wow...I loved the Seekers' version when it came out but slowing it down and treating it like a ballad really emphasises what a good song it is. Well done, Len.

A very beautiful rendition but perhaps too slow. It is better at 1.25

One way to think about it is no one can improve on the Seekers version. Uptempo bouncy young love, full of forever starting out. But at the other end of life, how to sing this to the partner who started with you, stayed with you and even if you didn't make it off the street, because of her, it was a perfect life, as she is dying. Now about 1.25 BPM. It doesn't work for the interpretation in that scenario. We can't perform, act really, a song out without connecting it emotionally in our own minds to a story. The song at the other end of life. Thanks eversomuch for listening and commenting.

Thanks Mark. I slowed it for the scene in my head: an old street musician telling his wife who had been his partner since they were young and dreamed big dreams together and though they never got that far, they got each other. She is dying and he is at her bedside. So if my voice shakes, that's why. I can see my own wife and this was for her. No, she is fine.. It's theatre. :)

Tom Springfield wrote it and arranged it for the Seekers. This version was arranged and sung by Len Bullard. It is a cover that takes the song in a different direction from the point of view of a man singing to his wife on her deathbed.

@@clenbullard I apologize for my mistake. I like the song and just realized you covered it. And you covered it in the best of the best way possible. So I researched you and discovered more vocal accomplishments. Your voice reaches into me because I remember when my father sat by his wife's bed as she lay dying. Softly and gently was all I could think way back then Tryin to keep it short and to the point now. I apologize for my mistake. I have added you as a playlist in my collection. Thank you.
