Hey I just found out this morning my leukemia is back.I was in remission 12years.I have been following you for awhile!!I hope I can stay strong as you.❤️🙏

I was reading some of the comments and saw yours. I'm sorry that your leukemia has returned. I guess you could look at it this way-You were leukemia free for 12 years and hopefully, after treatment, you will be leukemia free once more. This time though you'll be more prepared because you've been through the treatment before. Also, there are others in the comment section that are going through similar situations, lean on them and, share your experiences with the ones who have never been through it before, you have a lot of knowledge to share. Also, I wish you well, that you'll look at each day as another step forward and you'll win this battle just like the last one. Peace and love to you and others who are going through treatments or, recovering ❤

Lots of ❤️from Montreal! Sorry about your chest/ side numbness. I am a Physical Therapist and if the nerves were cut, they usually grow back about 1 mm/ month. The neuropathy in your feet from chemo is different. To get relief from a painful type of numbness in your chest, we overstimulate the area by rubbing the skin vigorously with a cloth for about 20 sec. This will reduce the pain temporarily, but more importantly it confuses the reception of pain in the brain and therefore stops the original pain cycle in the brain. It reprograms the brain to feel the after effect of the cloth rubbing rather than the original annoying pain. LOVE you and your friend testing out the pickle… More stuff with you & him will be fun to see! ❤️

Such good advice.. I recently read that the nerves for touch/pressure are different from the nerves for pain and that your advice really works! I am a pre school teacher so lots of bumps and bruises to attend to and I use this on the kids- holding the afflicted area, a little pressure and rubbing really helps, and off course the comfort of being tended to maybe just brings a little oxytocin for wellbeing.

No feeling doesn't explain what nerve damage feels like... I broke my wrist and had to have surgery which didn't go well, the dr ended up shredding 5 inches of nerve up the median nerve so my hand and fingers are dead like if your arm was asleep which if you know what that feels like to me its like having 5 too tight gloves on. then it feels over sensitive. I feel for you Romee

Hi Romee! I live with MS and lost feeling in my hands (but in my case it's permanent nerve damage). Ever since then, the water bothers me. Even when I take a shower. 🤷‍♀️ I do hope you recover, but if it takes more time than anticipated, please know that we do get "use" to this uncomfortable weird feeling. Never fun, but it'll get better!! Much love, 💖

Just discovered your channel. You are such an inspiration to those who have or had cancer. I had melanoma on my leg 2 years ago and was told all was removed and had radiotherapy, then a few months ago after a smear I had to have treatment for cervical cancer (not all cells were cancerous). I have been waiting for a liver biopsy for a year....still waiting. Now I have swollen lymph nodes on my neck, under my chin, both arm pits, right collar bone, right groin and right thigh ...my original tumour was on my right leg. Based on bloods it looks like the mass on my liver is cancerous. Fingers crossed I get my biopsy of lymph nodes a hell of a lot quicker than my liver one ...which 1 Yr on I'm still waiting for. Very difficult to remain even stoic about the whole thing.....but you are such an inspiration...thank you and God bless

Thank you so so much for talking about your neuropathy. I’m 3 months post-op from my cancer surgery and trying to describe it to people is so difficult. It’s difficult to put into words or even explain so someone can understand. I’ve lost feeling on the right side of my torso, hip and right thigh down to my knee. Sometimes I feel like I’m being shocked, other times I feel nothing, one small touch can feel anything from itchy to like I’m being cut. Sometimes it feels like pressure, crushing like a vice or even like my skin was scalded. It is improving. I had to use Gabapentin but I came off of it. I’m so guarded on that side and I haven’t wanted to wear pants. I totally understand and wanted you to know your not alone.

And like another poster said, you really can't put into words how it feels unless you've gone through this. I also had a femoral hernia repaired, and they had to cut the nerve on the right side of my groin...which is now numb! That's a creepy feeling (or a creepy non-feeling)! Your puppy is adorable! That was so fun watching you guys eat pickles. I laughed out loud and woke my hubby! On a more serious note, you did an excellent job explaining the altered feeling of neuropathy. I had an axillary lymph node dissection as part of my breast cancer surgery which left my right side with painful aggravating burning please go away and leave me alone neuropathy.

Yes girl!! You’ve described neuropathy SO well!! Because it’s such an indescribable feeling and an annoying feeling! I have it really bad in my hands from chemo and my hands do hurt, but the last three fingers on each hand are numb but feel freezing and the tips of my pinkies tingle and feel the coldest but burn at the sane time…it’s the weirdest feeling. My daughter was born 11&1/2 years ago via C-Section and i still can’t feel that whole area. I was obsessed with those pickles when I was pregnant! I love pickles in a bag🤣🤣 I love ANY pickles. Here in Texas, one grocery store sells “Famous Dave’s Sweet and Spicy” pickles-BEST pickles ever. Some days, all I eat is a jar of them🤣🤣 Also, your pup is adorable!! She looks so happy!! They are the best companions-especially when you’re not feeling well❤️

I had a tumour removed from my left knee and femur when I was 11, finally got the feeling back when I was 37, I know the feeling you are describing and it is absolutely awful. I was told to take vitamin B12, it helps with nerve regeneration supposedly, still took 26 years to regain the feeling though

I had surgery on a saliva gland, & it was a year b4 I could feel that side of my face. Same thing with lumpectomy but feeling my armpit took about 3 or 4 years. You should get feeling back. The pins & needles are nerves regenerating. Hang in there, Romee. You're an inspiration!!!

I had a hysterectomy and lost feeling on the right side of my stomach. My doctor told me the nerves would regenerate. It has improved dramatically, so I'm praying you do regain feeling on your right side. Sending you lots of prayers and hugs!

I had a mastectomy on my left side and my lymph nodes removed and I think you perfectly described how it feels x I am not allowed to shave my left armpit because of the lack of sensation and the scarring but it is so difficult to explain to someone who has not experienced it x I am numb but in pain at the same time and it feels a little like when your leg goes to sleep like pins and needles ish x

Can you use hair removal cream on your armpit?
@BhappyD

Would using an electric trimmer/shaver for body hair work? The one I use gives a fairly close “shave” (not butter smooth like a razor, but does the job good enough) but it’s gentle/not harsh on the skin and is pretty much impossible to cut yourself with, get razor burn from or even get ingrown hairs from. I have super sensitive skin, and using a regular razor for my legs and armpits always results in major irritation, razor burn, cuts, or ingrown hairs, no matter what razor I use or how gentle I am, my skins just majorly sensitive and temperamental. Using my electric trimmer/shaver though has made that a thing of the past. I’ve never experienced any form of irritation using it, given that it’s not putting a direct blade against the skin.
