I've never been mormon. I'm mainstream Christian but I just want to say that I'm soo proud of you. And Mormons that leave the church and still believe in Jesus that is true faith. Jesus doesn't change His words a few times a year. Jesus loves you and I'm praying for you. You're blessed to have your eyes opened and walk out of that bondage into the arms of God that loves you for you no matter what and even if. You are worthy no matter what.

Don’t allow people to try and quiet you. You have a voice and god gave you that voice. Stand tall in your beliefs! You are so strong and I support you for having the courage to break the silence and tell everyone the truth, they need to hear it. It’s sad that the church needs to build lies to create a following. You are amazing and keep sharing! 🥰

My heart is right there with you Jante! I am also an ex Mormon, and I was a young woman like yourself who also experienced this trauma. And it is a "trauma"! In my case I was a newlywed, only married 5 months. My entire world crashed into million little pieces. When i went to the church leadership to ask them about the very things you are sharing, I just got the standard response. I just needed more faith. I just needed more patience. I just needed to attend the temple more often. None of my questions were answered. In my decision to stop attending, this brought a stress between my new husband and I. Then it brought stress between the bishop and my husband, because now I am a rebellious wife. I combed through every book, paper, website to bring to my heart understanding. I read yet once again the Book of Mormon. Finally I put this book aside and decided to focus only on the Bible. I desperately was hoping that God did love me, and wanted a relationship with me. I was not disappointed! I did not go to church for a very long time. But I did read and pray to the obvious Creator of this beautiful earth and universe. I took long walks in the woods and on the beach and allowed myself to slowly get to know the truth about God. And the truth of how He feels about me. I also never stopped caring about my family or friends that chose to stay in the church. But for me to leave cost me everything. My new husband annulled our marriage. My job suddenly did not need me anymore. In a nutshell all the people that I respected who stayed, rejected me except one person. I am not sorry. I have grown to come to know the God of all creation and His love for me and all people. And He is a good God not a cult. I forgive all those who betrayed me. It took time, but those quiet days of reflecting, reading and praying helped me to let go and respect even those who choose this path. I do not have to agree to give respect. True strength is when you can confidently in love stand for your own convictions without being nasty or bitter to those who question you, and genuinely hope the best for them. My thought are with you and my prayers as you walk through this season. I believe you are a strong woman, and will be just fine. Keep sharing your story!

It is all about relationship with God not religion. So happy you have found that out prairiegirl. The truth comes through the Holy Spirit by reading the Bible. It is Amazing when you truly see the beauty of this world God created because He is Love and that is one way for Him to show it. The other is by sending His beloved son to conquer death and sin to bring us all back to Him.

Dear Jante: Thank you for your lovely video. It’s been 52 years for me. My entire family is Mormon. I wasn’t looking for it. Someone put a very short book in my hands, that compared Jehovah’s Witness, 7th Day Adventist, Christian Science, Mormons and Church of Religious Science to “mainstream” Christianity. I was stunned, absolutely stunned and it was over in an instant for me, really, “against my will”, but when I read that they each had their special book and their own prophets, I was simply stunned to find the “one True Church” in their company. I was still in high school. The other truth that shocked me was going to other various churches and hearing “Jesus loves you,” “God loves you.” I had never heard that in my childhood church. “God loves you.” I was stunned. Because of course, you will never hear that simple phrase in LDS church, there's always the add-on about obedience, etc., etc. And of all their pernicious teachings, their “worthiness” is probably the extreme worst, because no one is ever “worthy” because “worthy” is an ever-flickering, often vanishing, distant goal defined and redefined by the leaders to keep you busy, anxious and subservient. I know you will have a beautiful, full, human life, and I pray that you find peace in your path.

@@babeltower5782 yes, the Catholic Church is equally a full-on lie as is the Mormon church. Thing is... once you relentlessly dig, you will find that the BIBLE is a lie... in its multitude of supposed translations over the years to its hypocritical contents. THE BIGGEST thing I learned from my decades long study of the Bible.... THEN studying CULTS (all kinds / many and various) is that RELIGION ITSELF IS A CULT.

i listened to you, and i heard a woman with substance and strength. i think it's too bad you were deceived by the church, but you're lucky you found out at such a young age. that's the good thing. now you have to find out what to do with the rest of your life. i was in the same boat as you, only i was 35, with a family and young children. mormons love to say, "why can't you just leave?" i have a better question. why can't the mormon church just let us leave? there's shunning. and vicious gossiping, and they split up your family. my ex wife divorced me and remarried within a year of my leaving the church. she said it was because of encouragement from the bishop. so it's not just a church, it's a cult. they grab onto every facet of your life, and when you leave, it's jump in and jump out just like a gang in the hood. if it was a church like the baptists, you would just leave. they wouldn't try to destroy you for attending river gospel fellowship down the street. so now what do you do? i was in the same boat when i quit, and i called up sandra tanner. and she suggested i read mere christianity by c s lewis. that helped me a lot, and i became a christian. but there are a lot of pathways to choose from. or no. you might decide to just be a generally good person, not hurt anyone, and expect other people to treat you the same. in slc there are a lot of people just like you, and you can associate with them and share with them. i heard of one group that means in a COFFEE shop on sunday. word to the wise on coffee. there really are demons in it. 3 cups and you could be like me, up all night staring at the ceiling and being perfectly wide awake 3 a.m. in the morning. i liked you vid. i liked listening to you share your feelings. hopefully you keep us al clued in as things go by.

He is love, He is our Savior. I just wanted to let you know that I am so proud of you and will continue to pray for you and your journey in Christ. I am also going to pray about sharing this video with one of my best friends. I haven’t spoken to her about where she is in her faith in the LDS church recently. We have had a few good conversations about our differing faith journeys, but as far as i know she is still in the LDS church. I am burdened for her heart and the heaviness and shame that the LDS church seems to place on the members. Oh and I love your Mickeys!!! You seem like a person that I could be very good friends with!!! I love Disney and you seem like such a sweet person.

Jante, I watched this whole video. First, I’d like to say that I’m sorry that you ever felt unworthy of God’s love or like you weren’t doing enough on your mission. That would such a tough burden to carry. I’m glad you’ve come to feel like you’re always worthy of the love of God. I also believe everyone is worthy of such love. I’m also sorry for the way your uncle went after you in your last video, it was really messed up. That being said, it sounds to me like you believe in mainstream Christianity. If you don’t mind, would you be willing to answer some questions I have about that? You can also ask any questions you may have for me too. In any case, I’m glad you feel happy and empowered now and I wish you a wonderful and happy life. Do whatever feels good and right for you!

I'm not sure how I stumbled across your channel but I'm glad I did. I'm not Mormon, never have been, but I did live in Idaho for about 8 years so I was around Mormons and tried to learn why they believe what they do. I've learned more from your 2 videos than I did talking to other Mormons. Now as an adult I think about all the people I know or follow that are kind, loving, intelligent, amazing people who still believe in what the LDS church teaches. Anyway, when you mentioned that you still believe in Jesus but you can't take the Bible literally right now I totally understand and I hope you continue to get to know Him through the lens of grace and truth and love. Have you watched The Chosen? I highly recommend it if you haven't. As a person who has grown up in church it has changed my perspective of Jesus and the Bible. It's made it more understandable and tangible and alive than it ever has been. I hope it touches you too! ❤

Especially the ones who come out with their faith in the Messiah intact. Keep being you and seek His guidance. The mormon church is evil. They crush people with their lies and before I came out of it, I felt so worthless, so completely hopeless to ever recieve the blessings of whatever god they push. But alas!!!! The true God is mighty to save! And His goodness and mercy and love are boundless and miraculous! Something I thought when God opened my eyes, "I will never feel (unworthy) of God's love in front of another mormon again!" And it's been 8 years! I've felt worthy ever since! May the Most High bless and keep you! May He continue to open your eyes, mind, and heart ❤.

My best friend became Mormon, me being Catholic, my friend grew up Catholic. The religion in the 80's made us grew apart, and I just heard from her once in a while. I visited her in Utah, as much as I tried I could not swallow what I heard from Mormons, never made any sense. Like I was told at the Visitors temple that Jesus came to América, and that is why native Indians when Christopher Colombus came to Américas they thought it was Jesus. My ears could not believe what that tour guide was saying. As much as I told my friend, it was very weird what I was hearing, but she never listened. I lost my best friend-sister because of religion.😪🙏🏻

I remember feeling like a failure on my mission. All the Elders would get all these baptisms and not me. But I also felt God work through me on my mission. I can not deny that either. The struggle is real. But God loves us all.

Loving Christ who laid down his life ( and took it up again at the resurrection) does not shame. On the cross He said it is finished. The plan of salvation was complete for the world in that very moment.

Religion doesn't save, JESUS CHRIST said in JOHN 3:3 Ye must be BORN AGAIN. the "Jesus" of Mormonism is a lie. Jesus is NOT "the devil's brother" and no you will ABSOLUTELY NOT become a "god" one day. Trust in the biblical JESUS not the fake Mormon Jesus.

Amen! I thank GOD that The Light broke through. Stay with The New Testament - it will reference The Old and confirm that JESUS is The Christ, our Savior the only begotten son of GOD, who sat with GOD when the earth was formed, died on the cross for all sins, will return for us to join Him in Heaven - the home we were created for.

Well, you have indeed found your equilibrium, and I'm really glad for you. You may have ditched your religion, but you haven't lost your faith. One thing I would caution you, though. Have a care of people encouraging Biblical literalism. The content of the current NT has been picked over and re-worked for 1600+ years, to suit the narratives and political pursuits of Popes and Cardinals, Monarchs and madmen. It's used as justification for discrimination, control and hate by current "Christian" sects just as much as you perceived the BoM was/is by the LDS. Christ's strongest efforts were directed at breaking down the barriers the Temple was putting between people and God. He never cherry-picked passages from Levit. to justify his actions or teaching. I don't know why yahoos think they can do it now. Trust your gut on what God wants from you and what the real core of Jusus' teachings were. Walk in God's light, dearling. You're already shining. Much love.

Right now she takes a break. But she has a lot of content, about deconstruction and reconstruction, and fininding a new church.

Faith, IMHO is a personal journey. I personally have issue with organized religion due to lies and secrets. I know God is a loving God. We are made in the image of God. Jesus is the only person who could rightfully be "perfect". He died for our sins. Continue your journey, remember you are you, try not to compare yourself to others. I have a simple statement I now live by, "it's not my fault you don't like me." Many blessings to you and your husband. Christ's love is infinite.

I question this..if god is the same today as always then why huge difference between old and new testaments.. I have many many many many questions. I journey alone. I live by the creed to do unto others as would like others to do unto you. Pay things forward…hope to make a little difference in someone’s day….even if only tipping the person who gathers the carts at the grocery stores, tipping the drive thru person, smiling, holding the door, saying yes sir or yes ma’am…be respectful..any number of things.

The way the church presents it, it as in basically everything. Reminds me of just a big old marketing campaign...real life isn't shiny and perfect, we humans are a mess but therein lies the beauty in my opinion. I'll take "real" and actual truth all messy with scars and like an old pair of Levi's with a million repairs and patches over fake shiny perfect looking un truth! There was a movie and I can't remember the name of it but Morgan Freeman played "God" and the story or plot of the movie was he temporarily gave all of his power to a regular human guy...I think it was Jim Carrey....anyway Jim Carey was getting his inbox over filled with peoples prayers and so he'd just blanket give everyone exactly what they asked for, without even reading them....bottom line he made a huge utter mess! Morgan Freeman as God told him that when you're painting masterpiece that sometimes you have to paint with dark colors....the only way in fact to achieve the masterpiece is to go through those challenges and "paint with dark colors" at times. You are amazing. You are a masterpiece in progress. You are worthy. Anyone whose ever caused you to feel shame needs to take a long look in the mirror...I don't know how to put it into words and explain it but I absolutely understand. I would like to be your friend, just a fellow traveler on this road we call life...and we both grew up in Alpine 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 lol...

But Congratulations I’m very Proud of you tho either way it makes me really Happy to see someone not have to Cry over their own Ex Religion anymore. I get very Worried as well by the way so I was extremely Worried when you was Down.

I don’t think there is much happiness on the other side to be honest. I’ve been an atheist and I still am. I am investigating the church. I’ve suffered for depression and anxiety for my whole life. The church seems like it’s full of good people who care for each other. Even though I don’t accept the Book of Mormon as completely true. I can almost put that aside to be surrounded by loving people. The community alone is worth it. I have never met nicer people in my entire life. I wish you well on your journey. Just saying the grass is not greener on the other side. Also the church has disavowed polygamist.

You have a very valid point. I have always been a Christian but joined the Mormon church about 15 years ago. I don't believe in a lot of their doctrine but honestly, you will never find a better group of people more willing to do for others. I love that part and find it hard to leave behind. I am half in, half out and still enjoy the Baptist church. I think we all need the goodness that Christ taught.
