@@PatrickCCarter it was more weird than anything. Didn't really have much of an emotional toll but I've known folks going through cancer treatment that were close to me and I had a deeper insight into how bad it really sucked. It passed after a month or so and all in all, wasnt that bad.

I literally lost my taste 👅 and smell 👃 I’m so scared that I won’t get it back. My family doesn’t understand and is forever saying “ oh your lucky you don’t smell how bad (insert anything here) can be”! But I don’t enjoy anything. I can’t cook for my family anymore. I don’t enjoy eating or drinking anything. Simple enjoyable things like perfume or shampoo or lotion or even going out with family and friends and I can’t buy for my family only myself because I know what I already liked and wore. By the way I’m a mother of 4 older teenagers. I’m just lost on hope of ever getting my senses back I just go to work and home nothing else. I wouldn’t even wish this on my worst enemy. I’m just 😞 Thank God this man and others were able to get help and their taste and smell senses back!!! That makes me happy and a little hopeful!!

It's not just COVID. I'm 30 days since I ate a full meal. I've eaten 1-4 spoons of food. Then June 23 my tastes buds went out. (Oh 1st I had a total tooth extraction in April) but I could eat ravioli, oatmeal soft foods. Then I couldn't taste anything June 23rd. It's July 20th and the last 3 days I've had a boost drink and a spoon on collar greens. My brain tells me over and over all day don't eat that. I gag or vomit if I try to put anything in my mouth but water or Canada dry. I've drank coffee most of my adult li🎉fe now I can't tolerate it. I'm hungry ass hell. I also noticed no matter how many times I brush my teeth, or use mouth wash or peroxide scrub. This white coat want go away on my tongue. I'm miserable and tired of suffering. I understand the human body can take a lot. But it's torcher when you can't taste or tolerate the texture of food. It's like dooms day you just want to eat a meal for God sake. I do see my doctor tomorrow July 21.

I got a bad flu 6 or 7 years ago from a friend pre Covid19 . She shouldn’t have visited me but did and should have been at least wearing a mask, which you would do now in these times. I lost my sense of smell and taste and it never returned. After visiting doctors and specialists they said there was nothing they could do. I can taste sweet and salt but no flavour and I can smell something but not the smell it should be. My imagination in remembering flavours and smells helps but it can be depressing at times. I often don’t finish eating something when I can’t taste it. I live in hope of getting my sense of smell and taste back some day.

Did you get your senses back? I am one week in with covid and have pretty much no sense of smell or taste, and although it's weird I actually kind of like it. I have had problems with my relationship with food and it feels like this could be a solution, but somewhere inside I know I'm fooling myself and losing a sense should never be a good thing, so I was looking for a video to convince me losing my senses is not desirable.

I had turbinate reduction too about a year and a half ago and I just lost my sense of taste for salty and sweet. I can only taste bitter and sour. My sense of smell is reduced and I have phantosmia. Go back to the sinus doctor . Hopefully they can help you.
