That's what breaks my heart. As animal lovers and pet owners you only have to answer one question: 'Did you give that animal the best possible life it could have had?' And if the answer is yes, you did your job. That's all we can do for them.

I feel you mate, i recently lost my girl. Misha was a 50kg Alaskan malamute who was my best mate for 12 years. What made it harder was she had failed kidneys and i had to make a tough call. I will never get over it. You did the right thing by your mates, making them suffer is just selfish no matter how hard it is to do. It does not seem fait that we have such a short time with them. Make the most of every day you have with her and TELL her you love her EVERY day.. it is all we can do. BTW we have another Malamute now... It took 8 months before i could even look at another dog.. But Freya is also an amazing spirit who needed saving because no one wanted her..

You warned us. But It was therapeutic in a way. I'm so very sorry for your loss, losing two so close together is just more than I want to think about. We, my wife and I, had 5 fur babies until this past December. Lost our oldest, Scrappy, to cancer. In your videos I see Sniper and Kaiser struggling to breath on their last day, Scrappy was doing that too. I stroked his fur and told him over and over that I love him as the drugs took effect and I cried like a baby when he was gone. I held him as my wife drove us home and I buried him in the back yard. One of the hardest days I've ever lived. I cried again seeing Sniper and Kaiser, and you, going through this. And then my youngest, Rusty, hopped up in my lap and licked the tears away. That's why we are willing to go through the pain of their loss, the joy they give us is so much greater. Rest in peace boys, Luna is taking care of Dad.

C. W., This is a beautiful tribute to your beloved Sniper and Kaiser, and I'm so thankful that you have shared it with your viewers. I've kept up with your Life With Mover channel since it first aired and have enjoyed rewatching all the videos many times. I intend to continue doing that. Your lovely Luna is by your side during these difficult days. She joined your family at just the right time. May your cherished memories of Sniper and Kaiser be a blessing for you. You've honored their lives and the love you shared in an extraordinary way. Thank you. Vivian Lyn Powell

Three of our companion animals died in the last 18 months. My much loved therapy dog Keely was first followed by my cat 4 weeks later and then our Siklly Terrier in January. They were my life and friends for several years. I understand your pain. I'm also retired military. Those dogs helped me deal with so much baggage from deployments. We recently adopted a blind puppy mill rescue poodle. She's a sweet girl, who seems to have the temperament for therapy work. We will start her training in the Spring because that's when the next course is open. I know how difficult grieving your best buddies is. Luna is a great dog.

Keep it up!! 52 years old now and lost 3 life long K9 buddies so far who were with me through thick and thin - best friends ever. My current old pup is winding down as well - a 12 year old Bisenji name Roscoe I've has since he was 4 months. Same boat - when the time comes I wont let him suffer - they deserve that from us. I lose my S@#% and ball every time and this one will be especially hard for me as we road a long road together. My condolences and sympathies - but remember, All dogs go to Heaven :)

Sorry to hear. There is a drug to lengthen the life of older dogs in final FDA trials (I had no idea that the FDA handles animal drugs). It's supposed to be approved next year, probably worth looking into. I think the company is called Loyal.

A really nice memorial. I imagine, secretly, they both really liked Luna. The eyes, you never forget the eyes , and hopefully we never do. It's the toughest, best decision for them. Not for us, but for them and that's more important. My vet recently told me that just when you think you have no room left in your heat for any other, magically, that's when you discover another place for one more. How about Luna's training and journey for a new title. You can still remember the happy time with them. Also remember, it hurts because the relationship with them was real and genuine. Dog people know this instinctively. Thank you for sharing.

I lost my two best friends within a month of each other this year as well. One 12 months old and the other 16 years old. Working bird dogs with thousands of hours of trigger time and training nothing can really prepare you for that. Listening to this really helped, I’m glad I’m not the only one who loves dogs the way they’re supposed to be loved. They had a better life because of you, there’s not much more a dog can ask for except maybe a little more time

Last October, our Border Collie Erin came into my room as she usually does in the morning to greet me. But this time she couldn't stand up, laid there panting. Up to that moment, she had been fine. I carried her outside and my wife looked at her since she is much smarter about our dogs. We ended up heading to the vet. The vet did an ultrasound and found a large mass in her abdomen that, she thought, may have cut off the nerves controlling her hip and legs. Wife & I talked about it with the vet and the decision was made to let her go. I stayed to Erin's last breath, one that I remember all too well to this day. Gone but never forgotten, as are yours. Thank you for the video, CW. I have to add, you mentioned that you were feeling like you were a failure for losing both of your boys. Boy, do I understand that! I have second thoughts about what happened with Erin, not so much with our previous dogs. We had five Border Collies at one point; all are gone now - and I took them all to the vet and 'helped' them to cross the rainbow bridge. I consider it the least I could do to be with them to the very end. I have held them, talked gently to them - and it's bringing tears to my eyes writing about it. This went way long than I expected but I have had pets all my life and consider them all a long term relationship, knowing that they have short lives compared to ours. Enough, I hope doing this video helps you to recover from your grief.

Man, I knew I shouldnt have watched this video but my compassion for fellow dog owners who loose their best friends is too high.Sadly, I know what your going through Mover. I had to say goodbye to my service dog, Pebbles. She was one of the first official service dogs provided by the VA. I have some lingering injuries from my time in Afghanistan and she 100% saved my life. There were many, many times I didnt want to go on. She was able to sense this mood shift and would come to me and rest her head on my shoulder and just keep it there. Sometimes she would lick my neck a few times. I swear I can feel her presence even today. I've been offered another service dog but I just cant do it. I know what your going through Mover. I want to say it will get better but it wont. This void will forever be in your heart. Time will lesson the loss a little but will never take away the full extent of the pain. Honor them. Keep their spirit alive in memory. They are waiting for you at the other side of the Rainbow Bridge 🙏

Hey Mover, I'm so sorry for your loss. I feel your pain. When I got furloughed after 9/11 from your airline, we adopted our first dog, Taylor, a black Great Dane. She saved me. She gave me purpose while I scrambled for work. As time went on, we rescued 5 more Danes along with a Standard Poodle, a Beagle, and a small terrier mix. I was was in the Bahamas working a trip when our first male Dane pasted. I was devastated. At that time we had three Danes. Not being able to be there with him hit me hard. As you said, it was like loosing a child. A few years later, Taylor passed at home. Again, I was gutted, but this time I was able to be with her till the end, but my wife was out of town. Taylor not only saved me, she taught all of our other dogs the rules of the house and how to behave. She was an awesome dog! Being with her at the end wasn't pleasant, but I'm thankful I was able to be there for her. Like you with Luna, my other dogs gave me purpose and helped me move on. Several months later her sister, Harley reached the point where the only humane solution was to put her down. This time both my wife and I were able to be with her throughout the process. Fortunately it was a few years until Beckham passed, and about another year until his sister, Almeida passed. Danes are not only large in stature, but especially in the love that they give. Unfortunately, they don't have long lives. Loosing a beloved pet/family member is always hard. Not having that loving, precious being physically in your life every day hurts. Like you, I also had my Dad pass last December. I was able to be by his side until the end of his time on Earth. I am very blessed and thankful for that. Our remaining Great Dane went into "bloat" (his stomach twisted) three weeks ago. He's nine. Like you did for your boys, we spent about $6k on emergency surgery. He's doing great. My wife and I are extremely thankful. Enjoy your time with Luna and the new adventures you will have together. Also remember to give thanks for having had Sniper and Kaiser. God places dogs with the people they need, and with those who need them. You are awesome. Thanks for all that you do, for pups, the public (as a deputy), and the country. Hold Luna tight, and thank God for the time you had with Sniper, Kaiser, and your Dad. Keep the faith!

I'm convinced losing dogs are harder than humans. Dogs are there with you for EVERY MOMENT of your life. Other people around you may be physically with you sometimes but parents, significant others, friends, siblings aren't there for every dinner, every day good or bad and all the ups and downs of everyday life. They're there when you move houses, or go through job changes, or breakups, literally everything. That's what makes losing them hurt so much more. I know you said you cant help but feel like a failure and I know this won't make you feel otherwise but you're not a failure. You did the best you could and they loved you for it. You can see it in every picture and video here as well as just watching the channel over the years. You honored their lives beautifully and I hope and I'm sure THEY hope this helps bring you some closure getting it off your chest. I cried with you on this one, we have two brother sister mutts that are going on 11 and while for now they're healthy I know that time is coming and I get a pit in my stomach every time I think about it. I just tell myself we give them a great life and lots of love and it's all they ever wanted or needed. PS I bet the other dogs weren't happy with Luna at the start because deep down they knew she was going to get you all to herself one day 😉. Hope your days get better man.

I lost both of my dogs a month apart during lockdown and that was just debilitating. I lived alone and I’d come home from work to an eerily quiet house each night. Nothing can prepare you for the day no matter how many times you go through it. Just know that you gave them a life they’d have never known and their love for you was unconditional. We beat ourselves up about what we could have done differently, but in the end you always had their best interests in mind. Hearing you tell their stories and the beautiful collage at the end brought tears to my eyes. Not only because I can place myself in your shoes, but also because I can hear the love and the sorrow in your voice. Keep your head up and I look forward to hearing about Luna’s continuing story.

I've been there all too recent as well. I watched our Lola(Choc Lab) decline with kidney issues, she'd bounce back, then decline again, accidents everyday in the house just like Kaiser. The final day was one morning this past October leaving her out to pee before work and she had a stroke in the yard. Fell flat down and wouldn't move but bounced back at the vet only to slowly decline on the way home. I had to wait till 5 that night as my wife wanted to be there with the kids. My oldest knew her since she was a pup, they grew up together. She was the family rock, always there, always a happy pup, always ready to go. It was really hard, I was just inconsolable. My first dog ever and first death. She died just one day short of her 13th birthday. It is horribly hard but talking about it does help so I appreciate the video and so does Sniper & Kaiser.

So sorry for your loss. I unfortunately know that feeling of failure. I had to put our 10 year old mini schnauzer down back in May and it was the single hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life. She was my best pal, my shadow, we'd had her since she was a puppy. For two years she'd been diabetic and I had religiously taken care of her. In February her blood sugar had been perfect and things were going great. Then one day she got a uti and we got her meds. Less than a week later she was gone because her pancreas had failed and she had gone into diabetic ketoacidosis. I had to do it alone without my wife or my other dog there and going back home was just heart wrenching. No matter how much someone tells you that you did all you can it's hard to believe it yourself. Hang in there, cherish the good memories and keep them close in your heart.

You warned us 💔😖 My husband & I just had to make the final visit to the vet yesterday for our little schnauzer and poodle cross breed (schnoodle). Although I have been with 2 previous dogs to the end, both beagles, this one was even harder. He was a stray that my son rescued. A total wreck both physically and emotionally when he first came into out home in 2017. But it is especially hard because he originally belonged to my son, who has cut off all contact with us. Chips was a little firecracker, a big dog in a little package. Larger than life until cancer sucked the life out of him. 💔😭😖

Dogs love unconditionally. No matter how bad things get for you or how down on yourself you get, they still love you the same. They often even sense when your down or sick and want to stay close to your side. Although painful, the kindest thing you can do for them is to not let them suffer when they've reached that end point in life.

Aah Mover, just remember the times ( like in the end of video), you gave them a wonderful life. One can see how grateful they were with you. Dogs don’t give up, they try their hardest for you. Unfortunately they do not live as long as us humans, but the quality is amazing. You were certainly not a failure. You did everything 👍🏻 you and the Vets could. Be proud that you were able to give them something they have never had. 💪🏻 Your pain will not go away. I still miss my one and only dog that I got as puppy and together trained in Agility sport. We did it as a team 🥰 Your a good man, I feel that 🇺🇸

This fits into the gratitude conversation on the other channel. You never know when it's going to end. I came home from work a few months ago. I found my wife had passed. We made a point of letting each other know how much we meant to each other everyday. But we had no idea that it would end so quickly. 34 years was not enough. I wish I was more grateful every day that she was sitting by my side. I miss her dearly. These days it's harder to find things to be grateful for. But the conversation the other day struck a cord. I'm trying to find those things every day.

Brother been there right were you are. My wife and I lost both of our baby's within 4 months of each other. It was some of the hardest times in my wife and I's life. It gets better I promise. I understand the failure feeling. Stay strong.

I am so sorry to hear that. I believe that when we cross to the other side, the first ones to run towards us will be our furry buddies. We will see them again.

You will see them again. You gave them a happy and healthy life. I’m sure they loved you very much. Think of the positives times Mover. Love what you do! Keep it up

All the love, Mover. Thank you for doing everything you did for those dogs. You went above and beyond. You are NOT a failure. You gave them the best life you possibly could, and that's all that can be asked.

I'm sorry for your loss, Mover. I went through this a few years ago and watching this broke my heart all over again. For your loss and for mine. It seemed like it went down hill for my Emma so fast and on her last night she knew and I knew that it was time. We just cuddled on the couch and I'd give her some water from a pipette and some chunks of ice to chew on since she wouldn't drink or eat. Sun came up and we went to the vet and said goodbye. She was so peaceful. I cried for days. I still cry sometimes. I'm crying right now. It was the first time I ever had to do that and I don't know if I'll ever be the same human. She was my souldog and my best friend. It took over a year before I was ready to get another dog and we finally found the one at a rescue in Broward. Also named Luna. She is Malinois/Shepherd and a few dozen other things. She looks a little bit like if you combined Sniper and KvR but with your Luna's eyes. She's been a handful because, as I'm sure you learned quickly, Malinois think they're the smartest mammal in the room. They're right, of course, but don't tell them that or they get cocky. She's helped get me through a lot, including moving halfway across the country last month. I'm still heartbroken over losing my best friend, but I'm healing. I think. I never felt comfortable talking about it because I always felt like I was being too emotional. I wish I had talked more about it at the time. I can't imagine doing a video like this about it. I was crying just watching you do it but it is a great thing that you're able to talk about them and honor them. If you ever need anything or need anyone to talk to, do not hesitate to let me know. I'd be more than happy to reach out. Take care of yourself and take care of Luna. She'll take care of you.

Jesus Mover. Respect Man. Thank you for sharing your pain with us. I’m convinced that this country needs to learn how to do this better as a whole.

Sorry for you loss. Friend of mine said the best cure for heartache is making new friends. They won't replace what you've lost but can help ease the pain. Maybe Luna could use another friend too. For what little it may be worth, it worked for me. Admittedly my friend manages a local pet adoption group so he *might* be a little biased .😁

Luna and I plan to make new friends with her training and helping people in public. Since she will be working with me, I don't want to get another dog just to leave him/her at home alone while we work.

They were there for you and you were there for them. It doesn't get any better than that. You did everything possible to give them a wonderful life. Hopefully this will be an inspiration to others. It's a beautiful thing. You truly make this world better everyday.

OMG.. the feels... this brought back so much heartache from losing my pups Cooper and Sergeant and knowing that my dogs Gina and Katie are close enough in age that they'll be getting to that point in the next few years. I'm so sorry for your loss.. It's never easy to go through.

I feel your pain, I had two red ear turtles ( Fred and Wilma) for 26 and 27 years. When they passed away I was really down for a while...

I can't watch, but a salute for making this tribute to your pals. I love my animals, and losing them has never gotten any easier.

It is sad how these things seem to happen. We lost our Husky Shepherd less than a month before my dad died in 2013. Then in 2020, we lost our cat just a couple of months before my mother died. Maybe it is better to get all the crap hit you at once rather than spread it out, but it sure sucks to have these 1-2 punches. All we can do is remember the good times as you are doing here and keep living life to our best ability.

I’m so sorry brother, this is heartbreaking and my heart goes out to you. As someone who grew up on a ranch we had to put down animals on occasion but there’s something about losing a pet but dogs especially. Keeping you and Luna in my prayers.

Sorry for your loss Mover. I’ve lost many dogs over the years, it never gets any easier but my current pack of mutts does help. That’s awesome for Luna to become a therapy dog, she looks to have the perfect temperament to help others.

We bring animals more closely into our lives for the simplest of reasons, its part of being human. It always gives more than we ever imagine and hurts when we lose them. Kaiser and Sniper were clearly happy in the life you were able to share with them, as Luna is now. Keep doing the things you do. Peace.

Sorry for your loss, I'm a cat guy not a dog guy but it doesn't matter when you love your fur kids to the fullest and give them the best lives they could want it's hard to let go at the end. And don't think that you failed them at the end, you gave them the best lives possible you did everything you could to make their senior years possible, in the end it hurts but we have to give them the peace to cross the rainbow bridge. Also I'm glad you told the story of their lives they were awsome boys and the fact you saved Sniper from a kil shelter was truly amazing. Now you have Luna and as you said turning her into a support dog will allow her to help not only you but those around you is great. Remember like our human friends and family as long as you remember them after they are gone they are never truly gone; Sniper and Kaiser will always be there for you in thousands upon thousands of happy memories pictures and videos.
