As far as the paver, my guess would be that your guys are using string lines to figure out slope and pitch for drainage. We used to do th same, intell we noticed how easy it is to having slake or evening touch the sake and the rope is off. Creating a ditch or low spot in the middle. I would highly recommend to use a construction rotary level for the grading. Saves time and money!

Tragic execution of a decent design. All those puddles will cause problems for the homeowners over time. Water sloped towards the house. Water rings on counters and TV benches. Whomever did the flat work needs to be fired.

T 1/4 inch every foot for pitch!! I know it’s hard in California everything very flat but you absolutely need pitch.. I’m from Boston and snow pooling on the concrete is a big No go!!! And for the countertops need some wire mesh and a lower PSI for less shrinkage cracks

@@jessyl12987 agreed sometimes I’ll just do the horizontal pitch @ an 1/8th instead of vertically 1/4th off the house Because up here water sitting against the foundation is a death sentence Up here we have basement and frost walls and such so the water needs to get away 😂

You got ripped off badly. Materials for a gas line would be only about $500. Get rid of your plumber, most are scam artists and way overcharge to see if you will fall for it. Just train your guys to do it yourself. It is really easy once you do it once

Doing a gas line that length without a plumber is a horrible idea. Any small error is a huge liability. However, I agree 10K is pretty high. I build houses in the same area as Tigran and would expect an 80LF gas line under a house to cost at least 4-5K without trenching/backfill

It took me about a year to learn that in order to avoid water standing when laying pavers, pouring concrete it’s to always have 1/2 of inch slop minimum. People will tell you water runs easily not true, also don’t trust strings levels always triple check those before laying a patio.

I wouldn't say that an idiot learns from his own mistakes. An idiot doesn't learn. A wise person learns from other peoples mistakes. But if you're taking risks and doing things that no one else had the balls or ambition to do, then you can only learn from your mistakes, and that will make you just a wise in the end.

Trench under the house. There are companies that can trench under concrete. Under the house, under the driveway etc.
@jameskim2007
@jameskim2007 Жыл бұрын
@@siliconvalleylife2.048 you’re going to trench under the home to splice into 50 year old rotten galvanized gas pipe and cut into the existing BTU count? Holy code violations. Start from the meter always! that way even if the existing gas pipe for the home can’t handle 15 PSI for your gas test you won’t be held responsible, as soon as these guys cut into the existing gas line and if the gas test fails, all fingers can be pointed at you for disturbing the pipe.
@siliconvalleylife2.048
@siliconvalleylife2.048 Жыл бұрын
@@jameskim2007 it's been done many many times. There's a company called Trench Free, all they do is trenching in situations that are difficult. I don't do that kind of work myself. I don't take on any jobs using natural gas, not worth the hassle and natural gas is being phased out in California anyway. Plumbers hook up the lined. Of course they have to be dedicated. I never said they weren't, all I said is it's possible to drill a line under the house.

@@siliconvalleylife2.048 bro I’m friends with those guys lol. You’re taking about shooting a missile which doesn’t work in this case. Digging a simple 18” deep trench from the meter would’ve been way easier.

@@jameskim2007 perhaps. Gas mains are "24 inches here I think. Electric lines are "18 here. After the San Bruno gas fire I doubt that a building department would approve a gas line under a house, so I could be wrong.
