Here we are folks, New 120 star World Record, but this time by Weegee! This is his first ever 120 star world record. He also holds the 70 star WR currently and is amazing at this game!
I am always excited to lose a world record because it motivates me a lot to try to take it back. I am excited to see what will happen in 120 star from now on, things are only gonna become more interesting from now on.

There's not really a goat in SM64. Cheese is the most impressive 120 star runner to date, but I think players like weegee and suigi are going to outclass him over time. It's a different level. The craziest about the run of weegee is how many big mistakes he made. And I wonder what suigi has to offer for us in the future. After a 3x, will he try to smash 70? His improvement was incredible.

Weegee is the overall best. Has the 70 star AND 120 Star records, is 3rd in 16 Star, and 2nd in 1 Star. Cheese is still the GOAT of 120 star, though.

For the drumming issue Cheese, try using some Sikaflex under the hi hat, it's like, rubber glue, it's a bit messy but it should keep the hi hat from spinning. Teflon tape on the thread might help with the snare! Or lock tight if you don't want to move it again

I feel like this run should serve as a lesson to Weegee. If he keeps resetting on good pace and not accepting anything but the perfect run, he'll always struggle to PB because it'd be very very unlikely for a run to make it that far. In this run, he failed HMC blj, stopped to pause for a second, but then continued instead of resetting and he got the WR. I admire his determination but you can't be a perfectionist in this category.

When thinking about your Roland kit, I think you should apply the knowledge that you gained from the tax topic: Right now you´re without guidance. Setting up instruments is hard. Get a pro drummer friend to show you how to properly set your kit up instead of putting up with a compromise of an instrument. I know you can do it babe you´re an awesome singer and I bet you can become an even better drummer if you have a proper instrument to work on from home. Love your content.

I dont really agree with what you said about 1:32:00. Atleast not entirely. While it does honder your ability to get runs going at live events, when it comes to PB times, getting attached / believing in the run while it is not yet over is actually far more dangerous as it creates more nerves, and makes it easier to choke at the very end, and thats the LAST thing you want to do on such a run.

Late to the party on this one but I was pretty shocked to see that he only beat your WR by such a small margin. Weegee made so many huge mistakes... You could DEFINITELY take back the WR back just by playing a slightly better game and not making some of the mistakes he made. The window is definitely closing for you, but you can still get in there and make history. A Cheese-owned, world first, sub-37 is absolutely possible. And I am not just saying this as a Cheese viewer... In fact, here's the comment I prepared in case Weegee went sub 1:37: _Damn bro, late to the party but sorry to see that you finally got washed up & out. It's all good man, I'll still stay subbed and you'll still be able to make it as a speedrun commentator... For awhile at least. You were the king forever but we all get old eventually homie. Whats crazy about this run was that WeeGee moves Mario so quickly that he makes up time just on moving him around. So the strats aren't half as important as they are to the other runners. But on this run specifically, WeeGee has basically said to the community, no one is beating me. He made easily 45secs-1minute worth of rectifiable mistakes and yet what beat the WR by 15 seconds! He could easily get into he 36seconds and maybe even 35s. Guy is a joke. haha

Roland make the best electric kits... but there's still soooo much wrong with them. On the off chance you see this you may have over tightened it at some point and the steel (there typically quite textured) may have been over griped at some point causing slippage. maybe try Roland CYM-10 Cymbal Parts Set for the cymbal and taking off the snare and having a look to see if there has been any wear RE: overtightening. If your lucky you might just be able to readjust it to where there's still material and re fix it to the frame :)

This is why I love watching Cheese.... the absolutely gold call-out by someone in chat @ 41:43 about how Weegee must be doing something wrong because he has all green & gold splits while Cheese always has red ones _still_ has me laughing! 👌🤣 I wasn't into speedrunning until about a year ago but the maturity, camaraderie & good humour shown by the Mario 64 players vying for these world records never fails to impress. And with your drum set-up dilemma @ 1:28:00 ... since Roland is an established brand & your issues mainly stem from being left-handed, I'd bet someone has posted their own solution to those same issues in an online forum somewhere if you do a little digging. If you don't have the time or patience, maybe find a friend or relative who can help... I do lots of research for less-mechanically minded friends, and I've found that lots of smaller communities (like musicians) post a wealth of info online for solving all sorts of random issues. It would be a real shame for you to give up on a sweet $2.5k kit for the sake of a few minor adjustments!

If you're talking about 7 years ago then even 1:37 was a *complete* pipe dream, dude.... In 2015 we got the first 1:41 and the grind was on for 1:40. People believed that 1:38 would happen even back then, but almost no one thought it would be within 5 years (then Cheese did end up getting it, with the first "official" 1:38 being five years later in 2020, though we all knew his previous 1:38 was real even with the streaming error). It wasn't until 4 or 5 years ago that anyone thought 1:37 was going to be possible at all, ever. And it probably wasn't until late 2020 or early 2021 that anyone thought 1:36 was going to actually be performed by a real human within the next decade.
