Great to hear you insights to your process for the origins to this sculpture. Is this typical for creating your sculptures?

My process is not formulaic, but the flow from live model to sketch to 3D and into metal is similar for most of my work.

I like the vlog stuff. How does the cast aluminum weld? I haven't done much ac tig stuff.

Its not bad, its temperature range (from solid to liquid) compared to steel is quite small. So you need to start hot then ease back and get out. You do not want to linger.

Interesting to watch your journey and process... keep on keep'en on. What gauge stainless sheet metal do you create with? do you find it difficult to form?
@LunarburnStudio4 жыл бұрын
Depends on the scale of the sculpture typically between 7g - 12g. The sculpture in this video is 7g - 10g aluminum.

Every metal has its pros and cons. Stainless is surprisingly plastic, meaning you can be pretty aggressive in its shaping.
