@@kurtislawler984 I agree with that. The scripts were so typical. Lucy always got into some kind of financial jam and needed Mr. Mooney's help. Either that or they relied on the old stand by, the misunderstanding. The same kind of formula they used in 80% of the "Three's Company" scripts. The hour long Lucy and Desi Show which I believe ran from 1958 to 1960 had much funnier scripts.

That was a different show. Ricky had the gun. "Synopsis Lucy read a murder mystery. She listened to Ethel's fortune-telling, and thinks Ricky is trying to kill her. Plot Ethel learns how to tell fortunes from playing cards, and when she tells Lucy's fortune, death comes up for the future. Because of this, along with reading "The Mocking Bird Murder Mystery", Lucy jumps to the conclusion that her husband, Ricky, is planning on murdering her, at first Lucy thinks that Ricky wants to strangle her. Then she thinks that he is going to shoot her, and when Ricky gives her a sleeping pouch to calm down her hysterical behavior, she thinks for sure that she has been poisoned. So before she "dies" she goes down to the studio to confront the murder, Ricky, about trying to kill her. She tells him how she found a gun in their house and that he is going to kill her with it. Ricky pulls out the gun that she is talking about and points it at her, Lucy screams, Ricky pulls the trigger and a little flag pops out that says BANG on it. So Lucy and Ricky make up for all of the confusion and they go home."

Another fun video, Rick. Well done! You know, like the Beatles, the cast of "Lucy" was so much more than the sum of the parts. I love that Bill Frawley could crack up Desi and Lucy - their laughs do look genuine. Which is something that made the show seem special and unrehearsed. In a lot of sitcoms, the actors say incredibly funny things but no one laughs. That's not like real life. In real life, we laugh when people say funny stuff. You notice how every scene Fred insults ethel, you see Desi trying not to laugh or he does laugh. The insults are so funny I can't. Lol

I love your appreciation of a show I used to watch back in the 50s. It's so wonderful that someone as young as you likes these shows.

It's amazing I came upon this, because my wife and I were discussing William Frawley just this past week and I went back to his wikipedia page.

I think the fact they disliked each in real life made their interactions more authentic and extremely funny. Fred was a comedic genius and my fav character by far on the show

Wonderfully made! I've never paid much attention to Bill Frawley's acting, now finally discovering what a talent he was. :)

I appreciate the support on this video! I made seasons two and three and I hope you enjoy those two. Bill always had a special place in my heart because I always laughed at his antics as a kid.

He was a great talent. By the time he did this show, he had been in films for many years, but he had had problems with drinking so people didn't want to use him. Desi agreed to use him but gave him three strikes and you are out. Bill never used any of those strikes because he was so grateful to Desi for this job.

One of the BEST comedies of all time. Vivian Vance and William Frawley were an asset to the show and helped contribute to its smashing success. The chemistry between these four outstanding performers was phenomenal. They were all top professionals who gave us unending laughter. I LOVE LUCY will continue to win the hearts of viewers for years to come. William Frawley and Vivian Vance might not have liked each other but in front of the camera they were outstanding. Love this show!

Like William Backus on Gilligan's Island, William Frawley was a key to the comedic success of the show. Mr. Nineg, you've done it again, and please keep doing it!

Thanks! That was great! It brought back memories of hilarious forgotten moments. I always liked Fred. No other actor could have done the part besides Willam Frawley.

These are some pretty good choices of great episodes, and your observations of the individual performances, particularly by Bill Frawley, are impresssive. Good work.

This is still the best show on TV, hands down, everything came together to make a wonderful show, cast, writers, a live audience even before canned laughter! The actors and actresses these days don't know how to act let alone sing, dance or do comedy, in the old days they did whatever it took to become famous. These days they do one job. Happy New Year everyone!

No retakes - like a live play every time. I remember when only once Lucy did not come out on cue, was somewhat late. Her mother, who had attended all her performances had recently died. Lucy came out, and began to cry telling the audience the above. So real and so touching - of course the audience felt her sadness - and pain. We all Love Lucy.
