MEET the brave Czech family who spend their days living with big cats - including a tiger that weighs 44 stone. Petr Augustÿn manages Fauna Park, a sanctuary that houses more than 150 animals and 40 different species, from monkeys and meerkats to tigers and cougars. With the help of his family at their home in Lipová, Czech Republic, 53-year-old Petr is the leader of the pack who has been working with dangerous animals for the last 10 years. Describing the animals as the ‘centre of his life’, Petr interacts closely with Diego - a 44 stone tiger that he hand-feeds and cuddles every day. They definitely love him and are bonded with him. For the people who think the enclosures are small... You aren't seeing the full enclosure, obviously. They have tunnels to walk through, second or third stories. You are just looking at the bottom part which they go in for his attention. They also get walked. If these tigers weren't happy in any way, trust that they will show it. You can see it in their eyes, very easily.

You're a heck of a great man Petre ... your family great too. I do NOT consider your animals to be "in captivity" but "domesticated/under care." And, of course, they'll live much longer healthier lives under your care than in the wild. From what I've seen on KZbin, dogs can provide healthy and welcome companionship/outlets for otherwise "wild" cats. Keeps the cats from getting bored/moody/dangerous; keeps the dogs doing what dogs like to do ... on the move all the time. 'Am especially intrigued with your herding-type dogs (Aussie shepherds?) which are usually too "business like" to be playing around; just want to herd other animals. Thank you for posting; 'wish all the best for you, your family, and all your animals.

I find it weird how people need to exaggerate their Big cat sizes. I know that there are 600lbs Tigers out there, but this one doesn't look close to that. I'd say 400lbs for this specific Tiger.

He seems like a nice guy but... the cages seem too small.. the animals appear happy I guess.. so they are being provided with a good life they just need more space in my opinion. Especially the tigers.

All I’m going to say is you never can predict a wild animals mood. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve known them or how much love you show. At any given point in time they can attack you.

He can setup a KZbin channel and make an option for monthly payments for people if they want to. Might help him gather the finances needed for a bigger space in future. The guy that runs his channel and has two tigers Diego and Enzo. Even his space looks a lot more ideal. He has made certain things inside it too for the tigers to chill out. That guy is super rich though.

Those tigers, lions, leopards, jaguars are really big cats. When adopted early and they get used to humans, they do not have the instinct to attack humans.

But he said that they are born in captivity and not only that, if they are hungry they would attack anyone to get food so I say he gives them food and brings them out in nature as well to make them feel we aren't only in cages!

I’d be careful with my dogs around a beast of a tiger. But it seems like they’re all friendly with each other and are very healthy looking. Wish the enclosure was bigger though.
