The style you're referring to with Jax is called "Rubber hose" because how they moved like rubber and had noodle arms/legs in the old animations. Cuphead is based on that old type of animation, too. Judging by how Jax's is a rubber hose rabbit he's probably based off of Oswald, Disney's original rabbit character before Mickey Mouse.

What made this show well know, is the fact that Glitch Production made it, because they are also the ones behind Murder drones and Meta runner, (Also, Glitch production was created by one of the internet greatest comedy animator, SMG4) Also, if you somehow didn't know, Pomni's va is Liezzie Freeman and she's also the voice of Sparkle,(fun fact, HSR did referenced ADC by putting the pilot's ending at the end of Sparkle's trailer, idk if it was done because of Lizzie being in both or not)

Honestly, I don't think it was a reference to the show, and definetly not bc of the VA (bc HSR is made by a chinese company). I believe both of the endings refer to the Last Supper by Leonardo Da Vinci. It's a painting referenced many times in media bc it's well known and have a lot of meanings.

I believe that in a world that's slowly over-sanitizing animated shows, like how Teen Titans turned into Go!, where cartoons went to having some really deep episodes to being oversaturated with gags, but also where animated shows have also become really adult like in Helluva Boss and Bojack Horseman, Digital Circus really stands out. It makes the inability to curse a gag in itself. It doesn't need to curse a lot to be adult. That comes from the existential dread that it subjects you to. It doesn't stop you from seeing the horror under the super colorful cover art. That's what makes it so successful. A really good mature story with cartoony visuals and using that cartooniness to its full extent with gags. Like Zooble choking Jax with her severed arm.

Kaufman was a performance artist whose tricked nightclubs to letting him on stage as a comedian, but would try to be as unfunny as he could be.
