Yes, a full time KZbinr since 2019, but a lot of subscribers may not realize Simon has been creating content, excellent content just like this, since 2014-ish (not sure when the first stuff was filmed). Back then it was what I'd call hard core long distance cycling and he did the same excellent job (very cool music, incredible video work, and so authentic just like today). It would have been tough to make a living at it then as he could only produce maybe 1-3 videos a year vs 1 every 2 or 3 weeks (watch one and it'll make since). My favorites are Going East Across the West (such a Forestry Forest like title!), AK to Alberta, Alberta to AZ, Touring the SW on a fat bike... He and Iohan G. (RIP Iohan... ) got me into backcountry bike touring which I do to this day... Thanks for everything Simon!!!

Foresty, I have been reading the comments, and some of your viewers have some mighty weird ideas when it comes to the resources available on the planet and the number of humans on the planet. With regards to the opinions that you expressed at the end of the video, I wanted to let you know that I admire you for being a minimalist. Over consumption is killing our planet. Future generations will pay the price for our greed and lust for more, more, more. And I also agree with you that there are already enough (too many) people on this planet and that people who do not have kids are helping out the planet in a very significant way by not bringing more consumers into this world. Thank you for sharing your ideas on these topics with your viewers, even though some will not agree with them. I think that it is important to express these things.

The really functional high end stoves that CAN keep the glass clean have air induction that goes from the lower back of the stove channeled thru the stove internals and usually comes from above the glass and washes down to the coals to prevent VOC/creosote build up. I currently have a Vermont Castings torn apart looking at the air conduit...I also have others. I am likely gonna build a stainless vertical "sailboat" style with an external air intake. If you don't have an external air source it will either scavenge air (drawing cold INTO your space) or pull a vacuum trying to get air. This happens at both our little super tight super insulated home (pull air from basement floor P traps) AND our tight cabin in woods. If you don't provide it air , funny things will happen, P trap odors, weird draft issues with chimneys..etc.

About half way down it occurred to me there might be a body at the bottom!!!!!!! I LOVE to see what you're reading. I'm always looking for new books. I would enjoy seeing some of your rock climbing. You're my absolute most favorite vlog. You have a great variety of things that you film and talk about.

Good vid. That's either a natural crack but most likely an stoop driven up from an ore mine underneath. Copper, zinc, some metal found in the area. Somewhere around the mountain a riase could have been put down or an entry from the side of the hill driven in. I inspected a lot of places like that. Got to be really careful with the air. Make sure a positive flow is there before ever going in. You could die in one breath. Rocks could fall on you as well. Make sure someone is outside and have a plan/time/communications. I was federal Inspector for mines for most of thirty years. Seen some tragic events that didn't have to happen. All good from east Kentucky USA

That bottomless pit. A lot of "Legend of Zelda" vibes right there. Thanks for another great video FF!
