Yes, a full time KZbinr since 2019, but a lot of subscribers may not realize Simon has been creating content, excellent content just like this, since 2014-ish (not sure when the first stuff was filmed). Back then it was what I'd call hard core long distance cycling and he did the same excellent job (very cool music, incredible video work, and so authentic just like today). It would have been tough to make a living at it then as he could only produce maybe 1-3 videos a year vs 1 every 2 or 3 weeks (watch one and it'll make since). My favorites are Going East Across the West (such a Forestry Forest like title!), AK to Alberta, Alberta to AZ, Touring the SW on a fat bike... He and Iohan G. (RIP Iohan... ) got me into backcountry bike touring which I do to this day... Thanks for everything Simon!!!

I’ve been watching van life videos since i myself owned a van during the epidemic. Eventually i sold my van and went back to living a so called normal life. You are the most impressive one left and the only one i still watch because i love everything you do. I love the scenery, the love for nature, making paths available for others to enjoy and your efforts to make interesting meals in your little space. Don’t change anything about what you do or who you are because that’s what keeps us coming back.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna butcher this quote, but It comes to mind when I watch your posts: it's by a favorite author of mine, Garrison Keillor, who said, "In a world of elephantine greed and vanity, you never have to look far to see the campfires of gentle people."... And to completely take the quote thing way too far, my mom always says, "We're all just here to walk each other home." May I say your life goes far in achieving that goal. So yeah, just thank you, for the campfires, for the walk, for the sublime company home.

Good vid. That's either a natural crack but most likely an stoop driven up from an ore mine underneath. Copper, zinc, some metal found in the area. Somewhere around the mountain a riase could have been put down or an entry from the side of the hill driven in. I inspected a lot of places like that. Got to be really careful with the air. Make sure a positive flow is there before ever going in. You could die in one breath. Rocks could fall on you as well. Make sure someone is outside and have a plan/time/communications. I was federal Inspector for mines for most of thirty years. Seen some tragic events that didn't have to happen. All good from east Kentucky USA
