I trained in aikido for 14 years when i was a younger man. Had a hip replacement and stopped training. Now at 82 I am playing tai chi. Fantastic training.

I'm almost afraid to start. I have a 5th black in kenpo, a 4th black in Hapkido, a 4th in Ten Shin Aikido, black in wing chun, and master teaching certificiate in jeet kune do- BUT- got mashed between 2 trucks in 99 and haven't been able to practice since. I HURT and move very little now-- and learning the breakfalls ( a VERY imporant part of martial arts for safely- ) would break me. BUT I need to. Learning how to fall without getting hurt will help ALL older folk-- especially if you still have SOME mobility now. I'd recommend SILAT, or Wing Chun for beginners.. NOT so much ground work- but you DO learn how to fall without getting hurt and CAN work into doing it successfully. ONce you do- your balance becomes better, and if you DO have a fall outside class- you most likely WON"T get injured by it as you would have previously!!! THIS VIDEO IS VERY GOOD- and ACCURATE-- you can learn it-- and do it !!!

Hi, I started my journey when I was 24 and in bad shape with Judo, Karate, Aikido and Jiu Jitsu. Because of my Job I made a 12 years break in which I made traditional Archery. Then I restarted and now I am 64 and happy to train Jiu Jitsu again. It's a fantastic journey and I am in a better shape than I was with 24... All the things you mention are true. The biggest Impact on my live has the Martial Art Mindset. It helps me in my Job , my private life and today to accept the flow of life when you get older. Thanks a Lot for this Vid and a lot of Greetings from Germany!

Age is just a number- this is in any sports! If you're already experienced, you can still keep up with younger opponents, skill and technique will over pure speed usually.

Very True! Especially if we're consistent with our training.

I asked in two e-mails if you required each student to sign a contract. You never answered.

My apologies. I never received them. Which email address did you use? No contracts. You only have to sign a liability waiver.
