@Mesjach

No need to be negative here guys. The dude makes money on peoples mistakes, that's why it can be considered a morally grey area. He's not providing anything to the world (except for employing people) for the money that he makes - that's why it's ethically debatable. The transactions are consensual - that's why he's doing it legally. In other words: the wealth on the world is not finite, it's ever-expanding, people like the guy from the video are just not contributing to this expansion proportionally to the wealth they extract. They are playing by the book though, so you can't really blame them. If you want, blame the law and the economic system and try to change it.

Bruh everyone was trying to villainize the poor guy. You can't say he's robbing others of wealth, since economically how it works is that people willingly spent their money on a product. With stocks, you're buying part of a company. As it goes up in value, you sell it back to the company. Then someone else buys it, etc etc You shouldn't use an analogy as though he's robbing wealth from others. Wealth definitely has a lot to do with luck, but there's also a lot of skill involved. And you shouldn't discredit them or think they're against the lower class because they happened to utilize that skill and get lucky. Because if you do, is he really the bad one by that point?

If you don’t socialize you will eventually feel lonely and sad. I spent 4 years in hs focusing on starting and growing my freelance filmmaking business which I did! But towards the end of my senior year, I felt sad because I didn’t have any real friends outside of school, didn’t have any “teenage” experiences. All I did was stay in my room editing and the occasional shoots that forced me to leave my house. I know it might seem hard to find someone that connects well with you but you have to force yourself to make friends. Even if not from your school, make friends online to which you invite them to hang out!

I feel like people equate a person with a few millions with a person with billions of dollars. They are not the same at all, and it’s really what people do with the power that money brings them more than the money itself. Some people came at this guy with such hostility, but he’s not the one exploiting workers and dodging taxes. He literally just worked and made money. I agree that there might have been some systemic barriers that make this impossible for some people to achieve and that there is some responsibility to give back and use wealth wisely, but this one guy is not someone we should be angry at for having wealth.

Of course no one's entitled to free money from someone who worked hard to earn theirs. But does one person really need that much money? At what point is it just absurd for someone to have so much when so many people are homeless? He's not at fault for the shortcomings of the system, but he sure doesn't mind being a part of it. Why would he? It plays so well in his favor. Not saying I would be any better by the way, but I wouldn't act like I have the high moral ground.
@Skersaroony

Antonio Catala I respect that you admit you’d do the same thing as would everyone but some people in these comments say otherwise, there are a ton of reasons why someone would work till they become a multi millionaire, they might want to afford the things in life that they want to do no matter how expensive because it’s their money, they might want to leave a mark (think of Elon musk with spaceX), they might just want to know that no matter what happens to them in life they’ll be insured and get to live comfortably, but most importantly to give to the people they love, wouldn’t you want the best life for your family members or friends, and there’s no such thing as too much money, you might not get to use it in your lifetime but your family will or the people you donate to will. There are many other reasons but I’m not an expert so these are just some

Alex Ong Its a combination of everything you said plus not being scared of stepping out of your comfort zone. A lot people put in hard work but are afraid of stepping out of their comfort zone to take calculated risks. Example, a nurse or a factory worker definitely puts in hard work but they stay in that comfort zone, that provides them with high job security and other social benefits. On the other hand this guy is taking calculated risk everyday and he has no job security and he is putting everything on the line everyday. Hope you understand now. It’s more than hard work, it’s being smart and efficient in the way you work while minimizing risk. That what’s separate most millionaires from the average person.

I totally agree man. He sounded so entitled. But people in our society think that “working hard” is all you need. There’s working hard AND working smart. It’s creating value in your work that you can sell it to the market. Nobody cares that you worked 10 hours flipping burgers because that is a low skilled job with little value.

But as he said, not everyone can be a millionaire, so it's not gonna work for everyone. In that case follow Life advice instead of financial advice, be happy and always find the best in a situation.

There is no secret formula, lol. Fact is, even if you work your hardest, there is no guarantee you will even come close. Becoming a millionaire takes a lot of hard work, knowledge, guts, and unfortunately, luck. No matter how hard you study stocks, if you can’t quickly determine the flow of a market you will never become a successful day trader. No matter how hard you grind, if you aren’t charismatic enough you can never become a great salesman. No matter how smart you are, if you can’t come up with an idea that people will pay money for you can never become an influential entrepreneur. Fact of life is, there is so much more to achieving a goal than simple hard work. Its about finding where your strengths and passions align, and chasing after it. Thats all you can do. Millionaires are gutsy because they often through away their social life just for the chance to strike it rich. For every millionaire, there are thousands of others who came up short, losing a significant chunk of time. Thats just how it goes

It's also an inherently misleading question when dealing with trading stocks. Just because you bought or sold stock at a profit doesn't mean the person you sold/bought from lost out. That person could also be making a profit from the transaction. And it takes two-to-tango, if you put in a buy order someone has to sell it to you. If there is no other person selling to you, then the market maker sells to you. If the market maker loses money on the transaction, it's not a big deal because it's their legal obligation to full the order. Market makers receive rebates from exchanges to provide liquidity.

kigas24 Exactly. As a stock trader you aren’t winning because others are losing. You when you can read the market. You betting something will fail or succeed is all about looking at trends. People lose money in stocks because they aren’t as privy to the market shifts, or are just unlucky. Blaming one person who won when you lost is nonsensical

I disagree, wealth hording has caused enormous issues in society. Many multi millionaires also have the resources to be able to avoid tax obligations etc. 5 million is not a lot in the grand scheme of millionaires but anyone with hundreds of millions and above are causing further separation of classes in today's economy, which right now we definitely don't need any more of.

Deshawn K. Most rich people had rich parents, so they were raised to be rich. While most poor/middle class people will remain in the same economic situation even if they work just as hard. They will remain poor/middle class because they’ve had less privileges than the ones at the top of the economic pyramid. You can’t expect the same income from someone who’s parents could afford a great university, than from the kid who grew up in a poor neighborhood with some trashy education. Yes, there are a few people who went from the bottom to the top, but they’re a really tiny minority. And so on, just because we all deserve the same opportunities, rich people should contribute more. If they don’t they’re selfish. And before you accuse me of being jealous of their luck, let me tell you I’m rich myself, not a millionaire, but way above average. The difference here is that we don’t spend that money on cars and houses. We spend it on donations. And we do it because we try to help those who weren’t lucky enough to be born in a privileged family.

He is just a player in this big game and he simply knew how to play the game, something people dont take the time to learn and apply themselves and look for a reason to guilt tripping them. Shocked by how much he was antagonised throughout the video, honestly, he worked really hard to get to where he is, he's sacrificed a bunch, I'd say he's earned his deal fair and square

“Do you think it’s unethical to make that much money?” Girl please instead of complaining ask him how he did it and go study so you can do it to, complaining won’t get you anywhere

I mean this was random people asking him questions they are interested on. Some of them have never talked to a millionare before. Maybe she doesn't want to make money daytrading and is just curious what a millionare's opinion is on this? It's not like hes some financial guru.
