These calls are exactly why I've been driven to build wealth for over 30 years, despite 99% of my community trying to push the "live for today" mentality. They don't see the barrage of life challenges coming, so they are ALWAYS unprepared. Not picking on the lady, but years ago, when she made 6 figures, if someone suggested that she save and invest a minimum of $20,000 a year, she may have chosen to "enjoy life" for moment.

You know you are sitting on a high horse throwing shade and starting rumors based on conjecture you have no evidence to suggest. Stop being so self righteous and start accessing compassion. Belittling her for choices you don't even know if she made only pumps up your own ego - falsely, by the way. You just come across as an egomeniacle jerk. You just come here to fluff your feathers by putting other birds down? Maybe hindsight is 20/20. Does your comment help her or anyone struggling with this? Is it valuable to her to hear you tomd her so long ago... Even though she's never even met you probably? You know I was like you. I thought it was simple and easy as long as you worked consistently at it. I had over $1 million saved. I planned a family and saved for retirement as well as a home and to provide for them so when my kids were born we wouldn't have to worry about anything. And we didn't - for a while... Until the world began changing. But all it takes is 2-3 like big medical craptacular events you can't control happening around the same time or a getting sideswiped by divorce or the death of a loved one... Or whatever - to wipe out a fortune. I mean a fortune of savings and investments. (No divorce here, medical was all it took bit I have seen folks fall who might have even been migbtier than you - Heaven forbid, right?) 1 special needs kid that sends you I to a different bracket of insurance necessity despite healthy pregnancies - just had complicated births. Plus an extra set of snow tires plus - whoops and unforseen.... Whatever. Life happens. You don't make 6 figures by accident. This woman is capable of wise, intelligent decisions and planning. And executive function. To treat her like a peon instead of a person because of what she might be going through only exposes the harsh cruelty of your own maladaptive character's true nature. Huff off on your high horse, then, Snarky! May you never fall off or break your neck, jumping. Sincerely. I pray you get to stay on top indefinitely. But I'm also a realist. I don't think you'd even have the guts to get into eventing. Google: equestrian 3 day eventing. Dare you to look it up and report back. Bet you're too scared to even google it. Because folks in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. And you know it. Besides, if your Elon Musk levels of dividedens on good decisions are so prosperous for you why can't you throw her a bigger bone of support than subjection? Because it would never occur to you. You're too busy being snide and haughty about your higher and mightier status than the folks who call for help anxious through a desperate season. How dare you?
