I feel like in this universe, anomalous work site management would be required class. And you know what might make these rule-based site stories a bit more interesting is that the reason they need to keep these rules followed was actually because within the site, in this case the booth, would actually be some kind of marker for a barrier that acts as an anchor to keep the spirit world from bleeding over into reality. Where the way you keep the marker working is either by following the ritual (the rules) or sacrificing the life of the person who fails to follow the rules of the ritual.

"Nothing is known about the company, and it is simply known as the 'subway management company'." A phrase, that in my line of work, you hear all too often, but this case seemed different somehow. ...it's what drew me to this case, in fact. That and an unrelenting need to get out of the office and away from the constant temptation of muffins, stale coffee, and a chronic lack of air conditioning. After i got into town, It didn't take much digging to reveal rumours of missing employees, crazy working hours, and huge cash payouts casually tossed to lowley security guards like it was candy a children's Halloween party. And that's not all. The various oddballs around town warned me of ghosts, ghouls, and other apparitions. That. I should stay away. Like I'd lsiten to that kind of talk. I'm a spook myself. A T-man! It's my job to dig up the skeleton, route out what is hidden, find those responsible, and make them pay! 🤨

Remember guys, there's a trick to all these rules stories. The rules don't start activating until you pick up the rules sheet and read them. If you literally ignore the sheet, nothing happens to you. Presumably, you don't get paid, either, though. But it is consistent in every story that they see the rules, pick them up, and that's when they're done for. It doesn't even matter how long you make it, they're designed for the employee to slip up. That's the secret rule number 1: ignore the rules.
