People 2: Will look at their situation and read it as follows. If this lockdown never ends do I want to be alive and sit here all alone, or do I risk death in order to risk saving my friend? I would rather die than having left a friend up shits creek without a paddle all for the reward of sitting here alone in the dark. People 3: The introverted lad who, upon discovering there is some sort of dark entity/creature/mimic in the hall, feels his Berserker Heritage begin to rise. smashes the coat hanger, gathers up the middle pole, and as he is furiously sharpening his makeshift spear, continue muttering something along the lines of "Big Scary Monster eh? Well your about to have a flag pole shoved up your ass Big Scary Monster...." Breaks out the white paint from Art class making a skull face mask with white paint. He then remove his shirt, kicks open the door, lets out a warcry that would echo through eternity, and charge into the dark. My theory is what's behind the door might be Theo, as in... what was left of him. What a great story. I wish it was longer. There were two things that bothered me though about what happened that I would've liked if it was payed a little more attention to. One was when Theo was texting Brian and asked Brian to leave the door unlocked since he was almsot there. Brian said he would, but then (as far as I can remember) there was no mention of him locking the door when lock down began. That just makes me think how Brian mentioned that he looked around the room with his phone flashlight to check if anything had changed, and he said that something did in fact change in the room but then nothing was mentioned about what exactly was changed in the room upon that realization. Would have been interesting to find out. On top of that, that would mean "Theo" probably already went in there and did something... The other is from the rules which I could have sworn was right before the very last rule to not let someone/something in once lock down has started. That second to last rule was to not answer the door. I imagine that meant to not respond to the voice on the other side of the door. Brian did exactly that and talked to "Theo" a lot. Now that I think about it, I wonder if Brian responding to "Theo" and the possibility he forgot to lock the door had something to do with him experiencing the incessant night. I said it already, but this story was great. Would be interesting to get a part 2 if at all possible. Lighthouse Horror, that was amazingly well told.

This story doesn't answer any questions: what happens after 3 days? What happened to Theo? What is causing the lockdown? Why don't the staff provide a CCTV feed so people can see outside the halls from the TVs in their rooms?

Why not supply the students with cases of water and supplies for extra long lock downs.? Why not just tell the students what is going so they can make a decision about attending that college or not? Or better yet why even have a college in the middle of nowhere where dangerous things lurk?

for the first question, after 3 days, he's going to die from dehydration since that's around the max a person can last without water.

@@LordOfTheFrogs_ he's got Pepsi and a toilet, and could potentially cut a hole in the drywall. Theo's dead. The monster heard him voice texting
@hollywoodpineapple8337 Жыл бұрын
It might also be a psych experiment by the school. Hence why they might not want to tell students about what's happening there. If they knew it was a test or such they might react differently. Maybe once he runs out of drinks and is at the verge of dehydration the lockdown will end and he'll get access to any supplies or healthcare he needed. If he opens the door he fails and get kicked out. Or the school is sacrificing students who don't follow rules to the monster.

The MCs of these stories are dumb for our enjoyment. I wouldn’t have talked to that skinwalker once. I assume this college is somewhere near their home and they come to the college to feed. For whatever reason they are staying longer than usual. I assume hunters came to deal with them since OP was able to post this story.
@Quick15 Жыл бұрын
Or he got it out somehow, it appears to be some kind of writing. At this point though I would have taken something to the wall and the next dorm over. If the teachers are keeping you in your room for this long they deserve to have property damage.

@@Quick15 what if the room next door had an open door? and what if the occupants were also the creatures. no one to trust but the people you went in with.
@hollywoodpineapple8337 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it probably is staying longer cause it knew he was there and kept responding to it...That probably continued the lockdown. And it is responding better and better. But yeah the lockdown would have had to have ended for him to get the message out. Hopefully he left the school. This could also be an experiment by the school towards the students.

@@themindboggler8055 Idk if I was dying of dehydration I'd take the chance. But yeah, no guarantee.
@themindboggler8055 Жыл бұрын
@@Quick15 personally in this situation. I’d tell the friend to just leave campus when he said he wasn’t gonna make it. I mean theres a whole 8 billion people off campus and they’re fine. It seems the lockdown only effects the campus. A theory I had is whether our MC is trapped there because he interacted with it. The reason this hasn’t happened to the MC before is because their roommate wasn’t unlucky enough to be on campus in the open when the lockdown initiated. Because he interacted with it its just going to wait till he either opens the door or dies. Its like vampire rules, it wants to get in the room but needs to be let in, with how desperate it is you’d think it would try to knock the door down.

Great voices and reading. I loved the part where i leaned that the protagonist dont even know how to study prep. living on campus means you get to fill your room with snacks and drinks an d drugs, so you can study even longer. lazy people constantly refill their main and back-up and the back up for the backup resources. so they can maximize their laziness responsibly. when I dont feel like cooking for a weak. i spend 1 day cooking enough food to last for 7 days. and i will replace the ingredients that same day so i dont have to remember to suffer that chore later.

Great story I want to know what happens though. I guess he said if we are reading/hearing this that he must have survived so that is the implication. I have trouble believing that an entire college campus full of students would so readily adhere to the unexplained lock down rules though. Also if the lockdowns are such a regular thing then why do they tell students to fill sinks with water instead of telling them to keep a pack of bottled water and trail type snacks under their beds?
