the game is TOO fluid these days. alliances are almost completely arbitrary, with the exception of like, the tikas from 44. we have things like danny playing an idol for frannie and then voting her out two episodes later - flips mean nothing anymore and they should

what's amazing is in early survivor and even the middle seasons this was a "dumb move" but like now this is the way everyone plays they use the fact that, they could "flip" at any point, to leverage a better position and openly talk flipping at tribal councils and to there fellow alliance members

the game has evolved so much now that everyone's flipping and flopping at every vote that people respect the honesty in newer seasons. Heck, Boston Rob went after Matt here for disloyalty while Rob trusted Danni more in WaW because she admitted she had thrown his name out.

In Redemption Island, Rob was essentially herding a bunch of sheep. Cutting Matt like he did isn't really a matter of appreciating his honesty, it was a matter of asserting dominance and looking out for himself, because he was here to win. I'm sure Rob did appreciate the honesty, but it'd be stupid of him to welcome back in the alliance someone who was very willing to flip. In Winners at War, Rob was among savvier people. He wasn't really dominating anything, and in that situation, yeah you can make an alliance with someone, and you'll trust them more if they're honest with you. I don't think Danni was allied with Rob when she suggested voting him out. Sure, you can plan to cut them later for that, but that's for when your alliance has majority and you're clearly the head of it.

It was a factor of Rob’s read on his position. On RI, he was one of 2 notorious returning players and the cast was already eating outta his hands. In WaW, he probably came into it already on the bottom based only on his reputation with the game.

This is why I don't agree with people who say Marisa is a "good" first boot. Yeah she was able to (sort of) figure out Russell pretty quickly, but telling him that to his face was very naive. Plus six other people on the tribe voted for her, so she obviously did something wrong with them.

Christy from Amazon had one of the most brutal vote outs in Survivor history. She was deaf and trying so hard to stay alive and overcome the odds, and the one time she finally got power it was ripped out of her and she was coldly blindsided.

Love the video! Just wanted to extend an idea for a video: usually episodes are named after a memorable quote from the episode so it would be interesting to see a compilation of all of the episode title quotes. For example Coach has many of them “The poison apple needs to go” “Slay everyone trust no one”
