I agree! I feel like this approach is a lot more typical for most people, where you want to redo a space but you don’t necessarily have the budget or items to do it’s all in one go. So you gotta wait till you find a good tv stand on fb market place that is a steal, then save some mor money and a month from them maybe you could afford a side table set from ikea or the curtains you really wanted.

Re-cover the 80s couch in velvet like fabric (green or purple or blue). You get to make it your style but keep a part of your childhood with you instead of letting it waste away. The shape is incredible I love it.

@@pigstarrr really? i’m in manitoba and i work at a furniture store and for the delivery team’s safety they’re not allowed to take their boots off. they do put down mats to protect the customers homes from dirt though

Some companies do put plastic mats to protect your homes, and other companies just give you an earlier notice that their delivery team will be keeping their shoes on, so you can do what you need or cover your floor or rugs

I love when I see people tipping delivery guys. My parents brought me up to do so but my friends always thought it was weird. It’s kind and makes a hard job just a little bit nicer.

In Scotland people don't tend to tip either but I always do because someone is doing me a personal service, and while we have a national minimum wage, it's quite pitiful. When it comes to something like delivering food if I can afford £20-£40 on some pizzas then I can afford a few £ for the delivery person 🤷🏼♀️

Yeah, tipping is not that common in east asia either. I've seen some newer coffee shops in Taiwan putting tip jars on the counter but I feel like that's just more for aesthetic lol

Another piece I remember being highlighted = Becky's recovered chair that ended up in Kelsey's parents' home (=her old, childhood, bedroom) for staging purposes as they were selling the place.

Here is California, my new couch is taking 4-6 MONTHS and the accent chairs can be as long as 9 MONTHS. I’m being very patient, though, because I absolutely love what I ordered. But, I only had to wait 2 months for my dining room furniture! 👍 As always, I love your style. 🙂

I definitely relate to being visual and needing to see something in a room and live with it to know if it'll work. For color decisions I use a sheet in a similar color to use as rug, couch, accents even wall color or whatever. Your doing a great job thanks for the encouragement and being so real.

I think if you moved your rug to the edge of your coffee table and slightly under your couch it would feel less out of place, plus make a designated walk way between the TV and table.

I feel like the coffee table should be a bit closer to the couch too so you can use is more easily and walk in front of the tv. Might just be personal preferance though since I eat a lot at my coffee table. 😅

I agree. I think the current one is too much of a black blob in the middle of a light space. It needs to be less visually heavy - maybe with legs, inset a ways from the edge. The chalk paint black isn't working. I actually liked the original one in this space better, but it was too big.

Whenever I do a creative project my mom and everyone push me to finish it faster and then never tend to understand that it does take time..so I am glad that Kelsey is taking her time in doing this and is also doing a freakinnnnnn amazing job..❤️

Love that your couches name 'oma' actually is the german word for grandma! This name would be a better fit for that floral tempory sofa though (which I honestly quite love)

Step by step, episode by episode, I am making my way through these posts while you Make your Home. You've done a great job Kelsey - know this. It's helpful to all us "wannabe's" to see that the struggle is real! You didn't make a plan, find it in a weekend and nail it. It was a process and that is real life. But you know what?
