Hello, Mario! We have watched your video and even counted how many times you’ve said AVOCADO. And as you know, we do appreciate constructive criticism and feedback from our community and content creators so thank you for sharing your thoughts. We understand that sometimes Community Goals for the events are too high, and we will be more mindful when setting them in the future (but we would like to still make them challenging) . Regarding the Winter Event, we solved out this problem with the goal. So it’ll be a good lesson for us in future! Thanks for your attention to our game and all your suggestions. As a developer, we hope to bring many pleasant surprises in the future!
@Netroo Жыл бұрын
U can make them challenging BUT simply doing what u guys did today with the Rng increase in the winter tale event.u just need to actually measure if the goal is possible depending on what u ask to do. if its like cut limbs or kill zombies thats just easy to do and it doesnt require specific things to do BUT that wasnt the case with winter tales and srg ryan event cause they are specifc to do and u didnt measure if they can actually be done considering players count and i know for a fact u guys do know how many players are playing the game across all platforms. Most importantly u guys need to make the reward actually Special either a very very good weapon Damage wise or something gives some special attribute. but so far its the same bad weapon rewards + charms across multiple events. just an advice for the future.
@OniZombies Жыл бұрын
Thank you for listening and adjusting the goals. We really do appreciate that. Of course, we still want them to be challenging, but a lot of what’s tied to the community events is the incentive and reward. With Sergeant Ryan, there was way too many obstacles for the player to go through for the AVOCADO charm. Paired with a super high goal, it wasn’t possible. The rewards and new change for Winter Tales will certainly help. But I personally believed you guys nailed the rewards back in the Bloody Summer Event where players got a new weapon and new outfit. The rewards need to feel special and unique to the event and I felt that BSE did it better than others. The weapons need to feel STRONG. Just my 2cents, thanks for coming to my Ted talk

The problem with dl2 events is that techland don’t seem to understand what the focus of them should be. Dl2 events have mostly just been normal gameplay with shitty reskins. It’d be like dl1 reskinning a goon and sticking it in a quarantine zone and calling it an event. It wouldn’t be the biggest issue if it was a one-off, but of all events there have been 2 decent types. A singular hyper mode one, and the gore ones. The rest have been minor gimmicks or literally normal chapter focused missions and bounties. They seem to have missed the enjoyment of dl1 events, which was the gameplay. The community challenges were secondary. In dl2 they are the primary focus. And they’ve yet again missed the goal. It really isn’t doable. To reach 6 million we’d have to have done 450,000 a day or so. We’re already about 1 million behind. It won’t happen without boosting. Even the last one made no sense to have completed in 3 days when considering basic maths and player population. Chapters fucking suck and they have completely dominated the focus of dl2. If they keep adding chapters the game will get worse and worse. Think about a new player in 10 years being met with 5+ chapters to separately grind out each chapter and dozens upon dozens of bounties. 90% of the gameplay would be grinding. That shit sounds dreadful.
@tristanstebbens1358 Жыл бұрын
chapters aren't main content drops though. They're meant to fill in the space between DLCs. it's why they're free and why they're grindy (literal endgame content) . DL1 had nothing inbetween DLCs other than events and a new difficulty. Like really you have no obligation to do those chapters. They're there if you want to, not because you have to. And uhhh, DL1 literally had those kinda reskin events before. But yeah, the majority of DL2 events are kinda bland. Doesn't meet the highs of events in DL1 (tho I never really enjoyed much of those either... like really, infinite grapple hook?? Boring to use normally, let alone infinitely for an event.)
@lukedillon4584 Жыл бұрын
@@tristanstebbens1358 Chapters are certainly advertised as big content drops. They had them on the roadmap and have massive PR campaigns up to their release. Dl1 did have some free content updates, the prison for example was the biggest, then there were some actually decent bounties which added completely unique weapons with special effects, NG+ was an addition back then, and it wasn’t as common as it is now at that point. Legend levels were a post-launch addition too. It isn’t that they aren’t giving loads of free stuff, it’s that the chapters are adding more to grind on an already grindy game. Quantity over quality. They’ve released multiple grindy battlepasses and are planning to release more. Just because I don’t have to play it doesn’t mean I can’t criticise lazy and lacklustre content. Dl1 didn’t always have top notch events. But I could have excused a single bad event for dl2 as well. But dl2’s events have been absurdly bad. They’ve pretty much been 90% regular gameplay with a few reskins. Look through techland GG to see just how few of the events have been good. Most dl1 events had something of interest, few of the dl2 events have had anything of note at all.
@tristanstebbens1358 Жыл бұрын
@@lukedillon4584 Except new game+ was a standard that should've been there from the start. The prison was added wayyy towards the end of the games life cycle, past all its DLCs (and is just a time trial game mode) . Legend levels was released as part of the following enhanced edition. Not inbetween DLCs Bounties are literally just small challenges. Like yeah the chapter system is grindy. But again, you don't have to play it. Some people actually like grind, especially for end game content. I mean hell I played 100's hours of BDO and that's a Korean mmo (they're known to be grindy af). Yeah there's critiques to make of it, but grind isn't one of them simply because grind in of itself isn't bad, especially when it's not mandatory in the slightest. I agree though, DL2s events are pretty bland and copy DL1's formula too much.
@lukedillon4584 Жыл бұрын
@@tristanstebbens1358 Your point was that dl1 didn’t have many real free updates, you didn’t specify when they were, the prison and ng+ were free updates. NG+ was much more excusable in dl1 as it was the first time techland had done anything like that. Legend levels were still an addition to the game, the edition didn’t matter. There were 3 bounties which added completely unique weapons with unique properties. They were content updates which added something of substance, I don’t see that with the chapters, they are daily missions with reskin rewards. I mean sure, I don’t have to complete them, I don’t anymore, but I will criticise techland for focusing so heavily on adding more and more grinding to the game. I paid full price for the game, I’ll criticise techland when they add to already annoying sides to the game. If you take a look at the content roadmaps for the past year the chapters take up half the timeline. For an MMO you kinda expect a grind. Dl1 didn’t have a grind aside from legend level, dl2 has had grinding from the start and is going to have even more added. It’s fair to criticise a sequel when it takes a turn like this. I don’t think most dying light players played dl1 for the grind. Your original response to me was “chapters aren’t main content drops”, and that “dl1 had nothing between events and the new difficulty”. Whilst enjoying the chapters is subjective, it’s disingenuous to suggest that dl1 didn’t have anything added aside from the events and nightmare difficulty. Content wise, both games have had additions, dl2’s have centred on grinding, and they’re planning on adding even more to grind. I’d call them main content drops for sure.
@tristanstebbens1358 Жыл бұрын
@@lukedillon4584 No, my point was that "there was nothing inbetween the DLCs except for events and a new difficulty". Because there wasn't. You quoted me wrong. And yeah just because it is on the roadmap doesn't mean it's main content. Killing Floor 2 had a lot of stuff on its roadmap, but you'd still only call paid DLC the main Content. For DL2, do you pay for it?? No. Does it add new story or significantly different gameplay content?? No. Why?? Because its not main DLC content. Again, fact is Techland is following largely the same format as DL1. Except now there's stuff inbetween the DLC this time. Yeah it's grindy, but again, some people like that. Afterall it's endgame. You personally don't have to like it, but it doesn't make it bad especially when you aren't forced to play it. The only thing I can say about it is when they nerfed bounty rewards, making it grindier than it was originally intended for no reason. And with MMOs. No, they're not inherently grindy. Many MMOs have not been, many still arent. But people still play the grindy ones?? Why, because some people genuinely enjoy grind.

Why I think Dying Light 1 is better than 2.... 1) Better Physics, parkour in 2 feels so floatly in comparison, rag doll is also worse in 2. 2) The enemy Ai is so much worse, infected used to be a threat. 3) Night time is no longer threatening or scary either 4) Main campaign has way too little focus on zombies and too much focus on humans 5) The graphics (excluding ray tracing) are much less impressive for the time, Dl2 looks like a last gen game. 6) The whole choices and factions did deliver nor even matter, it made the sequel just wasted potential.

I can't remember the last time I played DL2 but what I do remember is I played it for about 5 mins, hated the parkour system because I'm still playing DL1 daily and never played it since, I'm probably never gonna play DL2 ever again. I have 4000 hours in DL1. Love that game, struggled to put even 150 hours into DL2. There is literally nothing Techland could possibly do to make me try out DL2 again. They might as well make a 'The Following' type of DLC for DL1 again because I'd actually buy that. If Techland release a 'The Following' type of DLC for DL2, I won't touch it, just like how I didn't buy Bloody Ties. Honestly fuck DL2 and fuck making this game into an RPG, I don't play Dying Light for the RPG, DL1 had RPG elements but they were implemented tastefully, it didn't feel like I was playing an RPG but it helped to preserve replay value to some extent. One thing that’s really frustrated me, though, is how nearly every single attack of mine bounces off of enemies. Katanas are the only weapon I’ve found that don’t suffer from this problem, but otherwise idk what’s going on.
@littlespanky1306 Жыл бұрын
They revamped the combat system. Just like you I thought the combat system was great, attacks felt heavier and felt like they hit harder, you could time your attacks better, the animations seemed a lot smoother since you’re getting to see the attack swing all the way through, but they ccompletely changed it to be the same as DL1. Which I actually heavily dislike, the animations are wonky, yes attacking is faster now so basically higher DPS but to me it’s not worth how rough attacking feels with a 1 handed weapon, it’s like you’re slapping a telephone pole with a fish until it falls over dead. When before you could swing all the way through and cleave your enemies in two, it’s just so un-satisfying and wonky. When you swing a bat, you swing all the way through, why would you tap a zombie on the shoulder and back off? When you can swing it’s damn head off? It just makes no sense. But yea I feel you (And yeah the only weapons that won’t just bounce off of enemies is 2 handed weapons. Katana, sledgehammer, axes, etc)

It went from a terrifying horror zombie game to a sandbox dead rising game with some parkour, such a disappointing sequel and they had it right during the 2019 e3 it looked exactly like the first then this shit. Still an ok game tho

I had an idea to add more flavor to DL2's combat, is that when you stance break any enemy, if you used the block charge on them you would grab em. By going to the right or the left, you'd send them away, by pushing forward you'd bash em for a few seconds until you either hit something (death animation if spikes or ledge) or they'd struggle out of your hold. By pressing the block charge again, you'd let them go, and if you pressed M1 or M2, you'd hit them, M1 for punches, M2 for knees, and if their health is low enough, instant kill. This could also be adapted for one custom animation for each of the special infected or special humans. Combat would be near perfect, and this would already be in the game if Techland was anywhere near competent. It's almost been a year since launch, and what DL2 has achieved in that time is laughable.

I am disappointed because I fully expected Dying Light 2 to be a contender for game of the year, maybe not win but at least get a award or 2. But damn I literally only played it for a month.😅 and I loved dying light! It’s a real shame

I know it’s been said countless times, but I just have to agree, the impact and swinging look so unsatisfying, it’s like the character is using it as a blunt weapon, he’s not swinging all the way through, and it just looks weird.

Plain and simple answer as to why dying light 2 isn’t good. Gaming as a whole sucks now compare the original games from 2014- to mid 2015- now look at sequels made in the start of 2016-2022 we had mico transactions loot boxes pay to win weapons or skins crappy and generic story’s unfinished and buggy launches really really crappy games. And all this is outside includes dying light 2 and that’s why smart people don’t pre order anymore they don’t fall into the hype or revels games now are just lacking and typically most games go on sale a couple months right after there launch now anyways

so weird to watch a singleplayer, story-driven game get talked about in the same light as a live service game... everything they've done since release is extra, and the idea that this game is "dying out" is simply bizarre--games like this shouldn't have an obligation to constantly pump out new, free content for an already-complete singleplayer experience. the only things that devs should be *expected* to do post-release is to support the game via patches and fixes, imo
@OniZombies Жыл бұрын
Yes but the the thing is Techland shot themselves in the foot when they said they would be supporting it for 5 years with regular updates and content. Because of that, it’s turned into bare minimum and lazy updates to keep that statement alive. We are only in year 1, I can’t even imagine what’s next if this was their grand debut.
@OpDownfall93 Жыл бұрын
@@OniZombies I honestly completely agree with the sentiment they "shot themselves in the foot", and that's kinda my whole point; they did this to DL2 with their own language, and the fanbase responded accordingly. it's just.... a sign of the times, I suppose. on another note, I kinda hope this is it for new events n whatnot, n they just do another major content release n move on to their next project.

So ever since sgt ryan event or maybe it was the new patch update I've been stuck in a house with into the dark showing up on my screen everytime I load in( no exits) Luckily if i hard restart my xbox x I can fast travel out(can't do so if i joined someone's game ) it always says "can't fast travel during a quest." I know they may be working on it, but to have to restart my system everytime I get back to my world from gift giving and helping new players on their worlds, it's very frustrating. I still play dying light 5-6 days outa the week despite this setback because I love helping others and I keep wanting to love the game. So many issues like you said oni and this is my main problem at the moment. I just hope they can make it a game I enjoy playing 1 day with no reservations. Heres to hopin.

True story here: I used to be friends with Jonah, the lead voice actor of this game. He and I aren't on speaking terms right now, due in large part to a horrific falling-out we had last year, much of which I still deeply hate myself for to this day. I won't get into details on that here, though. Thing is: in the time I knew him, one thing that was clear to me is that this game was, in many ways, his BABY. He'd done a couple roles (one of his anime roles in particular was how I knew him, since I'm in no way a gamer), but I could tell this was the project he was rooting for above all others. He stated how much he loved the first game, and how much being in this one meant to him. It was almost like he thought this was going to be his Uncharted or something, or (what I compared it to a lot) what Jim Carrey thought Man On The Moon would do for him (due to how deep he went in character to play Andy Kaufman in that). And in spite of all that's happened between us, I do think he's talented enough to be in major projects and get that kind of Nolan North paycheck (or even go beyond it and do live-action roles too). Yet with how this turned out... I don't think this is going to do it. And as a result, I do wonder how he thinks about this game now. Is it a sense of defeat and disappointment? I'd understand that feeling, since it stings when your passion project doesn't turn out how you intended. Does he still hold onto hope that this game will pick up traction and it'll turn out like he'd hoped it would? Who knows, really, it's not like I could ask him though. I don't know what'll become of this game after this year, how much of a role he'll play in it, or if he'll drop this and move on to the next big project in his lane. Guy probably has DOZENS of those lined up too. I suppose only time will tell.

Yeah he's fine, he will be successful. I don't think this game was ever going to matter THAT much to his career. It's a shame Techland wasted his efforts. They made Aiden borderline annoying despite Jonah's efforts. It's almost like how they had him do the voicelines don't really fit the situation.

Fix your friendship, bro. Try to reach out even if it’s scary, if you hate how it turned out so much then do what you can to rebuild bridges. Friends are friends no matter what all you gotta do is try
@heymistercarter. Жыл бұрын
@@strawhatpro and @Haxkari there's more to it than that. One thing people don't always realize about reconciliation and forgiveness in a broken friendship is that it's something that takes time, effort, and willingness on both parties to reach. And even if they do decide to get back together, all wounds take time to heal, and there could still be some scars left. I won't go into the exact details about what happened between Jonah and myself, but the gist of it: I'd gotten too close to him in a time when his career was just taking off, and I had feelings for him I knew wouldn't be requited. He put some space between us before and told me to get help on my own for my problems rather than relying on him for everything, which I did by seeking a therapist to control my anxieties and obsessive tendencies for people like him. We met up again, I apologized, we seemed to be on the path to making up. Then two weeks later, his moderators accused me of things I didn't do (due in part to things happening between us being taken out of context, along with the previous mistakes I’d made in our relationship) and basically had me blocked on everything (I've deleted my Twitter, Twitch, and Discord accounts since this, and I don't want any of those back). It drove me down a very deep rabbit hole, and I regret a lot about how I responded to this. This was two years ago, but I've never forgiven myself for what happened. And honestly, some of those things I know Jonah may never forgive me for, and I don't blame him. I hate what I became in the wake of this, because I never wanted it to happen that way between us. Even with all this, I'll put it like this, something I've told people when I've shared my story: I truly don't believe that Jonah is a bad person. Even though he's broken my heart worse than most people in my life, I can't bring myself to hate him. I always try to see the good in almost everyone around me, and there's a part of me that still loves him and believes he can be a good person, in spite of everything. And sometimes, when tragic things like this happen, it allows us to see perspectives from a whole other level we may not see on a first glance. We can see how we come off to others, and what the other person may have been going through at the time that caused us/them to react the way we did. Other friends of mine who have looked at our story call him a tool, rat, or a narcissist because of his behavior (both during and since our fallout), but there's a lot more to both of our stories than could be looked at on a first glance. Would I be willing to give Jonah and myself another shot, absolutely. I'd love to work with him on film projects I've written, because I think he can be a real talent when he commits himself. But that's something he has to be willing to do as well, and I don't know if he'd be willing to given what happened. I deeply regret the person I became, since I became a real jerk as a result of this. I highly doubt Jonah would ever read this, and he'd turn away once he realizes it's me if he ever were to. But even if he did, and he were willing to give this another go, as I said before (to quote Cyclops in X-Men: The Last Stand), not everyone heals as quickly as Wolverine.

I wonder if Techland would be willing to just add Tiers to the Global Numbers. That way there's a number easy to reach, a number you may reach, and a number you may never reach unless the Community gets in gear. I feel that could fix things. Splatoon 3 did this with their Big Run event. Low Tier High Score was whatever the common lowest was, Mid Tier ofc, and whatever was the High Tier, you get the High Tier reward. And you're rewarded for participating at all. Everyone wins and gets something and whatever Tier you get is a reward for your determination (higher tier higher value).

For the Bolter issues, were you looking for them at night or in the "Spoiler area"? That's where they spawn, as with normal Bolters. My issue with the community Xmas event though is... That Bolter spawn? Its on a timer. Like 3-5min before you can find another one. Which makes the whole "6 Million" goal a little disheartening. I booted it up earlier today and found 3-5 Bolters before I just found myself bored and went to do chores around the house instead. As much as I love the DL series, DL2... It just isn't doing so hot. They kinda did drop the ball on it, and have been tripping to pick it back up. Here's hoping they can start using something other than Band-aids on the game and fix up what the players have been asking.

I picked Dying Light 2 up on Day 1. I was a huge fan of the first game, Dying Light, beating it more times I can count and putting in thousands of hours. Not for any reason, just because I thought the game was fun and I enjoyed it. When I saw the announcement of the sequel, I screamed in joy and was so excited. But the constants delays and issues killed the hype. Then it released and I was so happy. I was hoping for the first game again on a new map with more to do. I played it and enjoyed it. The story was no masterpiece but I could accept that, if I wanted a great story I knew where to look. The gameplay just felt a bit boring and with the bugs and limited features I decided to leave. I have now decided to give the game a try and all I find out is there was no improvement in almost a year. This is honestly depressing.

Ok, I don't understand one thing, why did Techland put the dlc Nutcracker, on steam if you can get it from baka the costume they give you when you get the dlc, seems silly to me, at least if they gave you more weapons on christmas theme, they gave me one weapon from the dlc, it's cool but I think I gave money on the christmas weapon, not the ouftit and paraglider, and that you can get from the shop at baka but well the paraglider you get from the event, but it doesn't matter, anyway, in my opinion, it's ok the event but they need to add snow, more weapons at baka on christmas theme, DLC was nice if they add 2 more weapons specially for dlc with christmas theme but that's it. I can tell you that I managed to get all the items on baka's shop in maximum 2 hours..

Felt the same with God of War Ragnarok. Felt that it prioritized much more being a movie than being a game. And a melodrama movie at that. Gameplay is a disgrace in my eyes. So yeah i had fun the first play through and despite seeing the flaws i decided to accept them. But yeah i know the feeling. I was coping about my pre order money that i wasted straight up. In truth i wouldnt buy it even if it was 10 euros now that i experienced it. Which is sad man like actually i hate it. I don't know what are the companies doing but these games ain't it chief. I've been genuinely happy with every update since release (except nerfing the korek charm with a cost, and then changing what it costs, and nerfing the grappling hook, but no biggie), my disk copy I started on 1.0 had the worst of the bugs even after updating that persisted all the way until new game plus game out, my game ended up literally unplayable, so if anyone should be mad at this game it's me, but I've genuinely loved and enjoyed it so far with each update that they've brought, EXCEPT for this last one, my game is now glitched tf out and once again unplayable, my guess is part of it being I completed the new dlc, and then this update brought a new outfit and cutscene upon completion, so now the skullface outfit only appears if I'm at the arena, which is running like garbage, it ran acceptable at release and now it's crashing bugged and broken, and now my patched paraglider is home, I just don't have the skin anymore, I also lost the new gladiator outfit with the hood and mask once the skullface one popped up so I didn't even get a good look at it, I'm back to LOD bugs, facial bugs, freezes, crashes, dialogue bugs, like wtf, they were doing so well at fixing the game, an tbh I'm not all that mad but I'm not playing a broken game, I know they'll fix it, it's just irritating (oh and I don't like the update to the basic zombies, making them constantly grab you every 2 seconds with no option for instant escape like the first game)
