I'm curious as to what changed between your initial review and now. In general I agreed with you on that video. Somethings you didn't like I saw as a feature, but that's all things that can easily be argued either way. But here it seems you forgot Paradox was involved at all, simply ignored the almost weekly patches that have been done to the game to fix bugs, and generally the tone shifted rather dramatically. From I hope there is support in the future to Nimble Giant blows dog. We miss something that soured you on the game so dramatically in the last 2 months?

I think it's a mistake to think Paradox is going to do anything here, and if the only good thing to come out of Infinite is what's delivered by Paradox, then you may as well go with the original article and not the knock-off. They released their dev blog #12 and ... it's all about updating a ship model you never see while playing. The comments on Steam on that blog sum it up perfectly, this isn't a serious company that is going to actually address the huge void in the game. I said it had potential, but I'm not convinced it will ever be fulfilled.

I hope you are wrong. I agreed with what you said at the end of your review that this game can benefit from Paradox's usual track record of DLC. I don't see anything fundamentally wrong with the game. So content DLC's could do a lot especially of they choose to do "alternate history" trees like in hoi4. I don't know enough about the interaction between Paradox and Nimble Giant to comment on who would be pushing what.

Whew. Glad I went to Galciv4: Supernova instead of Star Trek Infinite. The creator of the game talk directly to the players almost daily. Star Dock is the company. They seem to handle bugs and patches rather well also. The only major problem with Galactic civilization 4 is the 'Influence' mechanic is ULTRA OP. You can win by mistake it's so OP. Nerfing it by 90% needs to be an option in the menu-- ANYWAY! I'll Still buy Star Trek Infinite Some time next year. 4x is in my DNA, I can't help it. Edit: Even if the games sucks. (MOO remake)

It was my understanding stallarus already had a trek mod so its almost as if they just took the mod and tried to polish it up and resell it as a new game lol and that kind of would fit with there track record.

That's true, which is just another argument against Infinite. I try not to bring up the mods though because they aren't official and not everybody wants to use mods. Also, even though Paradox published Infinite and clearly had a helping hand since it's a Stellaris clone, it was developed by a different team than the one that makes Stellaris.

It looked rubbish to me from the start, tbh. It was a pretty easy to spot this as a bad egg and to give it a skip entirely.

When a ship skin was released on STO, but you also needed Infinite to get it, that was a red flag to me. Plus i can just download a StarTrek mod off the workshop for Stellaris.

Ok, so definitely a review based on the game's merits . 🙄 I wonder how STO would look if it were based off Cryptic ? How about : Dumped by two parent companies, in the Red as recently as 2021, last game imploded in Alpha, their game before that almost melted down it's internal Market, ~50% of the skeleton crew working on their current most "successful game" are looking for new opportunities on LinkedIn , in that "successful game" they couldn't get the ships of the most iconic villains into the players hands for 13 years BUT they just managed to get an fictional NPC based on said villains from another non proprietary Trek game into the hand of the players (and there was much rejoicing by the usual idio ... errrr ... suspects) , said game is being led by visionaries from the fields of Mobile Gaming and Cryptic's highly successful QA department , etc ... etc ... . Alas, I started to talk about the game itself, so that's my bad . 🤗 +1 for the lack of the porn-stasch !

I did a video talking the merits of the game. I spent 60 hours making content that nobody wanted. They haven't addressed any concerns in the last two months. I was just trying to figure out what kind of support we can expect from the company and it doesn't look promising. Also, yes, STO looks terrible by the same analysis and that's accurate! STO is in a very precarious spot right now
