The scene with Tywin, Littlefinger, and Arya is a genius scene. Most viewers are too busy worrying about Arya being caught that they completely miss the important plot points and foreshadowing being discussed by Littlefinger and Tywin.

​​@@victorc8855I wouldn't argue that they're particularly competent at anything but reaping, raping, and pillaging in the books. Theon is often cowardly and impulsive in the show and books. He never fully considered the potential consequences of taking Winterfell with very few soldiers. He just assumed it would work out fine. In summary, Victarion Greyjoy, book Aaron, and book Euron were robbed via omission in favor of this dude, and the story suffered.

One of the best changes the show made from the books was Tywin and Arya scenes. Those scenes and dialogues never happened in the books as Tywin wasn't even at Harrenhal.

Yeah it's impressive, but it really is ridiculously large. It's a skill and tool issue with the beheadings. Ned cared about making executions quick and clean. He washed Ice in the Godswood right after use, and I have no doubt that the sword was well-maintained. Otoh, Theon's doing all of this shit in an attempt to prove he's hard to people who clearly dgaf about him. He's not considering anything but how he appears. The execution would likely have been easier with a Valyrian steel blade, but his own weapon should have been sharp enough to prevent the necessity of hacking at Ser Rodrick's neck.

Historically beheadings were rarely one clean swing. Towards the later middle ages they started designing swords and axes just for executions, with broad thin blades and heavy heft. Neds sword Ice is well suited for executions, being a broad bladed greatsword, and also being Valyiran steel, which is much sharper than the norm. Stronger as well, allowing for thinner blade geometry.

If only the show had shown more of how the Dire wolves were connected with the Starks, even Nymeria and Arya (and with each other) and not just with Bran. Even as Jon was trying to desert from the Night's Watch, it was Ghost who was guiding Sam and his mates to find him. With the help of the Three Eyed Raven who is also plaguing Bran and Rickon's dreams. Rob's successes on the battlefield are helped by Grey Wind who shows him routes around Lannister fortified positions.

To be fair, ned had a valerian steel sword that was 3x heavier than most swords in this show. Lol. But yeah still not a good look for Theon.

It's definitely heavier than most swords, but it's also Valyrian steel, which is known for being lighter than typical steel. Given later events, I'd say it's probably around twice as heavy as other Valyrian swords, so maybe 1.75x as heavy as a regular sword.

It's so funny because Sansas little brother is in fact more of a Prince then Jeoffrey is a King let alone Prince as Robb is a King by law and while in open rebellion is alive and winning while Jeoffrey is a basterd. Also a big reason Ygritte falls for Jon is because it's part of Wildling culture that if you go and abduct someone's wife and the husband can't defend her the wife now belongs to the other man.
