I'm Free - The Who (Live at the Isle of Wight)

Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970 is a live album by The Who, recorded at the Isle of Wight Festival on 29 August 1970, and released by Sony in 1996 along with a corresponding VHS video, which was re-released on DVD in 1998 and remastered in 2004. The DVD is very different from the CD. Differences include very significant cuts in the Tommy part of the show and in "My Generation", and, in addition, the video at many parts of the concert is not in sync with the audio. 600,000 people attended the festivel and the Who gave one of the most memerable live performances ever.
Sorry about any bad qualitly, also it is normal some of the audio is not in sync as it is like that on the DVD.

@@mrmott44yes entwhistles bass carried the who when Pete quit the fenders and Marshall for Gibson and Hiwatt….always found his guitar sound too fuzzy and muddy and plinky when quiet … his guitar was more on fire in the marquee days with his strat being distorted by a Grampian reverb box and 3 Marshall stacks!!!

The Who, while on most everybodies all time list of great bands, is still somehow underrated. There are many reasons, one is the many live petformances they gave where their songs sounded better than the studio versions. Second the melded rock and symphony style music into complex, energetic timeless complex music you can enjoy as much today as when new, and third, significant trendsetters. The lightning fast accelerating riff of this song a precursor to the punk wave that hit the music world a few years later.
