A lot of people don't understand the legal terms "defamation", "slander" and "libel", and try to define them as "You said something I didn't like!". I'm not a lawyer, but I believe for slander you have to prove that the comment(s) caused actual reputational harm. Difficult to prove, and in the US at least, they generally (I think) prove it by some sort of either monetary loss, or opportunities being removed (loss of a job, that kind of thing). Empty threat from someone who writes like a psychotic twelve-year-old.

Good afternoon Beardo. It's so funny, I did read the real families story about the home, and it seems that a few people have really changed the true story by a mile, lol. The father did not shoot himself in that chair. That chair didn't even belong to the family. Mother died in the hospital, the weeping willow was planted by the daughter and mother, not 100 years ago, lol. I cannot believe the untruths being told. Thank you Beardo for covering this story. Hey beard....your episode on most haunted return to pendle hill. Yeah I used to love watching them UNTILLLLL....one episode they where at the bottom of stairs hearing noises coming from two dark rooms upstairs...I caught something very very slight with my eye in the doorways...I played with the TV contrast and brightness...and bam...I cleared it up to see two crew members making the noise....I dumped the show and now I only watch when I need a good comedy

It's almost impossible to bring litigation from across the pond. Here in America, you have to prove that a person, knowingly told a lie about a business or person and your lie caused the 'victim ' harm, either physically or they have been financially. The key to libel and or slander is that the person knew that what they wrote or said, was in fact not true. Retired paralegal here. ❤

Also I personally believe that the paranormal is few and far between, at least when seeing or hearing something. I’ve had two paranormal experiences in 43 years and one I’m sure I’ve debunked. The one I remember and now can pretty much debunk is when I was around five years old and me and my older brother saw two large green eyes looking through my bedroom window. Looking back I believe that it was a dear reflecting the light in my room because we lived in the country swarming with dear. The second is truly freaky. I remember when I was kid, I moved to Texas and shortly after my Grandpa passed away in lowa, we returned home in Texas and my Mom and I were the only ones home. I was making a sandwich and something tugged the back of my shirt so hard it hurt my throat and almost fell to the ground and no one was behind me and my Mom was on the other side of the house in the restroom. Freaky guys! Plus after I told my Mom, we both started smelling a really strong smell of roses.

Beardo, I love what you do LOL. Hey, we're the same age! We are the answer to Life and Everything! I have had paranormal experiences since I was a small child. I have very little documented proof. I have been on paranormal research teams. They had me go into locations without telling me what it was about, to see if I picked anything up before continuing (assholes). I was in charge of debunking what was found, based on research and my own intuition of the place. I did it the old fashioned way, by combing the library, interviewing locals, the whole nine yards. I find the research part fun. Do I get disappointed if I find nothing? Yes. But I also feel accomplished in finding the truth of a place and often find a lot more neat history there than initially thought. Old news stories, old newspapers, talking to the residents, locals, getting insight talking to "witnesses." A lot can be explained away. Sometimes people manifest their own fears onto a place, which is why activity is not consistent. People making money on the expense of others' pain are evil. Plain and simple.

Also the top scary doorbell cams are mostly legit with real people doing weird things at peoples door steps but there's also a little nonsense. When I first got into paranormal like investigation I've had experienced weird stuff all my life anyway I was so into it and convinced all those radio gadgets were real I seriously convinced myself The point I'm trying to make I think a lot of it is mental and some of these people seriously believe their house is haunted and maybe?? I've never been there?? But as you said you responded to a news article 😅😅
