This is hands down the best version of Poison Ivy. Beautiful, powerful, hilarious and a ride-or-die friend. Also Bane and Kite-Man are comedy gold.

The Animated Batman version of Poison Ivy is pretty good too, and I think was the basis of inspiration for this one - the whole Harley-Ivy friendship dynamic came from Animated Batman originally, which was also how Harley was invented as a character in the first place. That show laid a lot of the groundwork for the modern Batman mythos. Ivy also has some good appearances in various Batman, Harley Quinn, and even a couple of Birds of Prey comics.

Modern day Ivy is ludicrously powerful, easily one of the strongest members of Batman's rogues gallery. In a limited defense of Batman & Robin's Poison Ivy, most of the power-ups in the comics occurred after that film came out. And the Naked Man/Woman tactic specifically calls for a situation where sex was at least mutually hoped for, like a Grindr date that is awful to talk to but you still find each other attractive.

This version of Kite Man is based on the Tom King reboot of the character from his run in Batman comics, where he would appear in backup stories pulling off elaborate heists with the only dialogue being “Kite Man, He’ll Yeah!” Before Batman quickly captured him. Then we got his tragic backstory (not sure if that is adapted) where he was an aerodynamics engineer who got wrapped up in a feud between the Joker and Riddler, becoming a supervillain to enact his revenge by helping Batman capture every villain involved. It took me longer than I’d like to realize his name is Chuck Brown and he’s Kite themed.

The first two seasons of the show are absolutely perfect. The writing the characters the character development, the action. All perfect and it only gets better from here, exponentially so. 1st season is top 10 best pilot season of anything I’ve ever watched. Past season two is still enjoyable in my opinion, but nowhere near as perfect as the first two. So enjoy!

"Supervillain names" I had to repeat that section; my two favorites: Poison-Navi; and the Benevolent Banister (I swear I will have to find a context in which to use the phrase "By the power of the Benevolent Banister") XD. Also, I guess if you want to bother Chris, you can use the simplified version of that villain title: "the BB". "The original Batman films" One thing must be kept in mind when approaching the Tim Burton film and (if one wants to continue that journey... just for the laughs) the Schummacher films: they all are adaptations of the 1960's Adam West show; that's why they mostly stick to this cartoony depiction of some motivations and villains. True, Tim Burton added a much loved gothic touch and went to dark places (basically, turning The Penguin from a regular human mobster with a theme to almost a mutant) and Schummacher decided to go all for the goofy side (because the studios mostly wanted action films to sell toys). That's how Poison Ivy comes to be the way she was in Batman Forever (and why the concept simply went downhill from there, until someone made a more grounded attempt). But that also creates the funny element for... "My saliva has to interact with your saliva..." While it's not everyone's cup of tea and can be a little bit cringey, Poison Ivy in this "toyish, cartoonish" depiction she had before 1980's and 1990's was mostly of a femme fatale (all her power almost go into that direction: pheromones, mind control, devotional love bordering into lust...). Basically Ivy is temptation and death and she will tempt anyone with her kisses. This cartoon went to the extreme to ridicule that concept: well, if you have based your powers around kisses... what happens if you need to save somebody that you may not need to kiss? I just love that moment when Ivy kind of realizes her regular weapon against heroes has dragged her to an akward corner ("maybe I need a better delivery system... just in case") XD. "Kite Man!" There was a time when comics had to censor themselves because parents thought too much violence in their pages would make children worship crime. From those wonderful years, we got Kite Man (first published in 1960) XD. Since in those years couldn't give any depth to bad characters (they all had to be cartoony in their motivations and defeated by the end of the issue, to prevent any form of evil inspiration), it doesn't matter if all his kite based theme has no sense. He is just a guy with enough intelligence to adapt kites to his evil needs... that's all there is. While any villain can be reworked to be more serious and deep and offer good stories, for Harely Quinn this is not the case, he is just good old Kite Man, trying to make an impression in Gotham's underworld with his fondness of kites (a serious contender for the Benevolent Banister XD). Nice reaction, and see you in the next one.

I would say that Poison Ivy in Gotham was very good. Three versions. Also Batwoman she was quite good. In Batman and Robin Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy carried the movie in my oppion. Still the worst version of character. And Poison Ivy is my favorite Batman villain.

The girls and guys even more are hating on kite man for being cringe and making it seem like he’s borderline a “bad” guy aka creeping and deserving of ridicule but honestly it comes off a bit like he’s just dorky and shooting his shot for a girl who’s on paper out of his league but he thinks he sees a spark for. I think it’s commendable. Not everyone is smooth and perfect. Dating is dorky and weirder than media wants you to believe. You will say the wrong non pc thing once in a while. There’s a limit of course but kite man seems genuine. Maybe it’s just cause I and fans know the entire story lol. But I do fear for men/women who just by nature aren’t super attractive and cool and know the right things to say naturally (and don’t cross boundaries) and get instant labeled as creepy. Can’t just have a world full of only pretty and cool people dating lol. Show some love for the kite people out there with low social decorum and a need to improve and who is willing. 😂
