Canonically, the Symbiote and Eddie Brock are in love in the comics. They were "married" (ie they were in a church and Venom referred to their union as a marriage), they had multiple kids, they DEFINITELY had sex (COMICS ARE WILD OKAY), and this has been going on since the 90s but they lean more into it in modern comics. I'm glad they leaned into it in the films too because the absurdity of Venom deserved an absurd but altogether wild and enjoyable bloody romcom.

Carnage came from venom, so venom is basically his father... And in symbiotes, the son is stronger than his father... In the comics, toxin, is the son of carnage and venom... Venom being the grandfather and carnage being the father and toxin is stronger than both of them... Also Patrick mulligan is a police officer... After he gets toxin he goes crazy and leaves the force... Venom is the 998th symbiote to have ever been created, carnage being the 999th symbiote and toxin being the 1000th...

As venom says and it is shown in comics, all symbiotes share a hive mind that extends across even the multiverse. The reason venom instantly falls in love with Tom Holland is because he knows Peter Parker/Spider-man through Tobey’s symbiote, so he knows just how good a host Peter Parker is.

Fun fact one of the reasons why Carnage is so hard to beat is because in the comics every time a symbiote reproduces their offspring and is significantly stronger than their parent which is why in the comics book Spider-Man and venom had the team up in fact even venom and Carnage had the team at the sweet venom's child called toxin FYI the police guy is is the one who becomes toxin in the comics.

For some reason I enjoyed this move a lot more on the 2nd watch. First time around I felt the whole carnage and shriek felt like it wasn’t really all that fleshed out, and they still feel basic but I enjoyed them more. Still wish there was more focus on the symbiotic relationship between Eddie and venom versus Cassidy and carnage but enjoyed it nonetheless.

But in this one they dumbed down Cletus by making him have a love interest, Cletus should love only himself and killing, adding her was just a weak way to make him have a "Redeeming" quality of any sort when in the comics he has none except maybe his therapist.

The only big problem I have with this Toxin+mulligan reveal is that he has the combined power of Spider-Man, Carnage and venom. In that timeline though he hasn’t met Spider-Man yet thus he can’t webshoot and doesn’t have the power up from Spider-Man‘s powers. It’s kind of weird imo but as long as the next venom movie covers spider man with venom I’m fine with it. Else they would go off comics and it would be Spider-Man 3 scriptwriting all over again.

Carnage is more powerful and able to Shoot projectiles because of him being fused with blood with. Blood cells are able to rebuild themselves and being a symbiote hes able to rapidly regenerate those blood cells so it's basically light work for him.

Actually the yellow symbiote is Scream, a spawn of Venom. Shriek is a seperate character but she does temporarily bond with a spawn of Carnage but it leaves her and becomes a cybernetic symbiote called Scorn.

@@Ani8900 you're welcome, Scream actually did have sonic screaming abilities due to bonding to an alien with that ability in the Marvel Spiderman TV show but not in the comics, instead she had hellfire abilities when she bonded to Andi Benton who carries the Hell Mark which I think is cool too. I think it's cool that depending on who a symbiote bonds with their weaknesses can be their strengths.

Yea the movie just needed to slow down a little and develop more time between Carnage and Cletus. I liked it, but it wasnt the best. I wish they had went R rated. Let Woody run wild with the role.

Mark 50:35. "DC", restarted their universe every ten years, to be fresh for each decade. "Archie Comics", ditto. "Marvel Comics", had a so-called, "Floating Timeline", that not every reader was mentally able to cope with. Although the animated cartoon series on, "FOX ", uses that conceit. ("The Simpsons", et cetera.) So they had to do something to appease those precious few that buy comics, and come up with something like what he just said. The original, "Crisis On Infinite Earths", came about because of easily confused readers that couldn't deal with a multiverse concept. Hell, even some of the older ones that helped to create it, were losing track! But now, they want the creativity allowed by such a concept, so both companies have brought it back. However, as previously stated, there really is an effort by the creators of one fictional character named, "Tommy Westphall", to connect as much as they can get away with, to it! So many fictional lives depend on his not having any brain trauma, let alone dying! 🤯

I was so excited for this movie when it was teased at the first. Very very much disappointed at the lack of carnage coming from Carnage. Truly needed this one to be rated for older audiences so we could get the proper violence from Cletus Cassidy. I mean he literally was losing control of Carnage, when he's should have had firm control over it because of his insane personality. My only hope at this point is that when venom gets introduced to the MCU proper, they do it in the next Deadpool movie so we can get close to the actual silly origin of why Venom is so crazy! Haha.
