I really was afraid to upload this video and it's taken the internet 3 days to actually upload. I was hoping it wouldn't but when I watch it now that it's up, I realise it's a pretty important personal and vulnerable story I need to share.
I hope this helps you in some way.
Kisses to you all :)

I didn't know I was carying this old part of myself with me until you mentioned it, thanks a lot! I'm now starting to understand why I act or feel a certain way sometimes, it's mostly because I still think I am that 13 yo who was so awkward and not confident at all in her own body (cause of bullying mostly). Your content always brings value Sorelle! Thanks again (french subscriber)

This video made me cry because I too have been struggling with this same thing of telling myself lies and acting upon those beliefs. You are such an inspiration to me and it is very comforting to see someone who I wish to be like in the future going through and talking about things that I have struggled with for such a long time.

Beliefs can either be liberating or limiting. Its so important to check in and see if the beliefs we are carrying are serving us. Thanks so much for the video! I really resonated with it as I too have been shedding limiting beliefs I've carried since I was a child.

Loved this, can relate so much! I have been working for years on shedding this subconscious perception that I'm not "cool" and all the consequences in my behaviour that it has... on friendships, on the activities I dare to try... and coincidentally, I resisted surfing and many other activities a lot because of this. I even resist telling other people of my career as a marine biologist and nature guide because its something I have labelled in my head as something "cool" and it feels inauthentic to be "label" my self with something worthy of that adjective. I have been slowly healing from this over the years (not just for coolness and beauty, but so many other things), and man it is a game-changer. I have offered my self so many enjoyable experiences and friendships by embarking in this healing! And this winter, all though I still see my self as goofy and weird, I have dared to fully embark on snowboarding while I am here in Switzerland working/travelling, living in the alp peaks for the season. And man, I love it SO much! I'm so glad I have given my self this opportunity for healing and joy!

That's exactly what I needed to hear sorelle ❤️❤️ my father was a surfer and he always wanted to teach me, but I never got to do it because I hated my body so much and I thought I would never be that "hot surfer girl". Now that I'm in the process of accepting my body, nothing's stopping me from hitting the waves! Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️

I relate so much to this video. I used to be this awkvard, strange (not like the others) little kid that was bullied and never fitted in. And it still has an effect on me to this day. The cool kids was the ones wearing a lot of makeup, was wearing cool brands and doing all these things. I was the tiny, late developed, band geek that liked to draw and play games. Not to hang around doing "cool" stuff. I still struggle this day to wear more makeup than a little maskara, to buy nice clothes for myself and to do all of these things. Im trying to work on it, but it is (as you kind of say) so embedded into my perception of "me" that its really hard to break free from. Thank you for making this video, you are not alone in this!

I loved this video. Quarantine helped me to get to my 11 years old self and that girl gave me strength to take the first steps towards becoming who I always wanted to become. And now that I've seen this video I feel even more empowered and stronger that the more we live, the better we get, and therefore everything around us. Been following you since 2017 on instagram, and occasional videos on YT. You are someone I look up to, and would love to see more people do, specially the new generations, so they can be at a higher level asap and achieve even more and vetter than we did! ❤️🤗 Love xx

I'm 5 minutes in and have to pause cause this is hitting so hard. I've always felt imposter syndrome in a social way, I always tell myself I'm not cool enough to hang out with these people or try this or be seen here because I think I'm stuck in my awkward, socially anxious 14 year old mind. hearing you verbalize it made me realize how ridiculous my subconscious way of thinking can be so thank you!

I think we all can feel very related to your story! Thanks for being so authentic and inspiring. Even the coolest people have those insecurities and one of the things with social media is that we are encouraged to show our best version, hiding our vulnerability. Your're one of the coolest person ever! and even more now that we get to see how you grow and share that with others :) we almost met in Bali 2 years ago! and talked through instagram, I don't know if you remember but I hope one day we get to connect somewhere while traveling!

One of the biggest things I’ve had to come to terms with was that humility and needless-self-judgement are not the same. Competence holds a lot of meaning for me. It’s not that I tell myself how “bad” or “uneducated” I may be, but my humility comes from how hungry I am to keep on learning. It’s not about what I don’t know or understand, but it is about what I am willing to find and discover.

Thank you for this, Sorelle. You have helped me open my eyes and realize it's time for a change. I'm turning 19 this year, I'll be going to college and I'm terrified of the life that lies ahead of me. I've been carrying the type of thoughts you discussed about for as long as I can remember and I kind of wish I hadn't stained the memory of these past beautiful teenage years with such dark conceptions of myself. It's high time i did something about that if i want my future self to be happy. It's definitely easier said than done, but i''ll be looking into ways of doing it.

Sorelle, this video is beautiful. You have communicated and put everything out there that I am sure not only I have felt the same way for so long. Girl its beautiful to be true to yourself and start being the version you always wanted to be. Also surf & skate are just wicked sports that are filled with adrenaline. Keep that up, you will enjoy it more everyday. I have started with skate myself, thinking hey I always wanted to, I am just not cool enough. So I decided by the age of 23 to buy a board on my trip in Rio and went cruising around because there was nobody there to judge me of not being cool. And slowly having my confidence growing now I surf and skate at my home country, where people know the uncool version of me and they cheer to see me being me now. Cheers and thank you for opening up!

i think to some extent, we are all 'cool'. we don't see it, but others do. and when we get far enough out of our comfort zone and have a chance to look over our own life from a distance (i don't mean that as in being physically far away from home, i mean new routines, new mindset) then we start to see ourselves and the wonderful things we do and we can appreciate our 'coolness' and ourselves for who we are. ✨
