I wouldnt recommend a ship just tell your detailer you want to be an su and then from there when you get to the ship tell your chief steward you want to be a cook. And they should have hou practicing with one od the cooks and helping out on the kitchen. But are you sure that's what you want. Deck department is a easy come up.

That first chief mate who cut your OT is foul and a hater. You should have reported it to the inspector general or dpa. What he did was very illegal and totally wrong. That second chief mate was also dickhead, good thing you got out of there!

Technically he could cut OT because the ship was not in "operation mode" anymore but he didn't have to cut OT. He just did it cuz he could. And yeah second one was a dkck for no real reason.

@blindsight3690 no. They always can see how much overtime you get. This was a special circumstance because the ship was crewed down. So different people were in charge of my overtime then normal.
