Yep! Motherhood is HARD!! I let everything go when I had my daughter. I used to rock the lash extensions, keep my nails done and changed my hair often. I had my daughter, loc’d my hair and let EVERYTHING go cause I just didn’t have the time OR the money anymore to do that. I have a 1 yr old, 9 yr old, and a 12 yr old step son!!!! I be going through it!!! It’s draining emotionally AND physically. You’re completely exhausted at the end of the day! I’m just now starting to try to snap out of it. It’s a struggle for me to get dressed up now and I only do it when an occasion calls for it. So I feel you, wholeheartedly!!!

You have every right to pivot and change directions. You have every right to change topics. Yes, I started following you because of your locs and you are definitely part of the reason why I started my locs, but if what you're doing doesn't feel authentic, dont do it. you have the opportunity to work from home while doing what you love! With that said, mixing topics wouldn't work for me, but it sounds like you can spend more time creating content for your other channel and have more fun doing it. I probably wouldn't watch day in the life videos (honestly, I'm here for the locs and self care), but I'm sure others would love to watch whatever you post. You may lose followers, but you will gain new ones too. Do you, Sis.💚

Thank you for being transparent. I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been here for the locs. But there’s only so much you can do, especially after 5 years. Things change; seasons in our lives change. Life itself is a journey. The locs are just a part of it. Do what comes natural. You’ll continue to shine.

Desiree rebrand your channel to a lifestyle channel! Including hair and beauty, vlogging your life as a wife, mom and boss. It's done all the time. Life is a evolution. You will continue to evolve and grow each year. Your true followers will grow with you.😊❤️

You’re so precious and genuine and I appreciate that. My heart aches for you- you seem so torn. I had to increase the video speed to figure out what was going on. We all have the same amount of time in a day. My suggestion would be to just prioritize yourself, your husband/ marriage, and your baby, and your spirituality. A strong, close family is crucial in these times. They are real. Internet likes and people come and go. If you can’t put out videos for online folks, they’ll just click on the next or rewatch your old ones. You’re “ LIKED👍🏽” in your own household and that’s all that matters in real life. Personally I’m not interested in anyone’s lifestyle videos so I wouldn’t watch. I wish you and your family the very best whatever you decide💙

Hi Desi!! I've been watching you, b4 your locs and you were vlogging your life going into your locs and I loved that. I didn't know you had another channel??...gonna have to binge watch it! YES, combine those channels, that would be great! We started our locs at the sametime, but I have restarted mine twice, lol!

What you are feeling is totally normal. Motherhood is a life changing event and we change as a result. My boys are 18 and 13 and lm just feeling like l can breathe easier and regain me. Its a sacrifice but worth it. Dont be too hard on yourself. It will all come together soon! I think you already incorporate both(locs and life) well here already. I would love more of that!

Sis, when we add the honor and title of "mother", there becomes a creation of a new part of your personality. It takes time to reconcile the hormonal changes that happen for at least a year after giving birth. Take time and enjoy the process.

Motherhood brings a whole new set of responsibilities with it. It's almost impossible to explain to someone who hasn't had the experience how much it changes life albeit in a good way. Girl, you are doing well to juggle wifely and motherly duties and whatever else, while still doing videos. Your body and mind may adjust over time or it may not. But it's all good which ever way. Connect with us in whatever way makes you comfortable. I am sure your loyal supporters will appreciate any new and varied content you present as we go forward. I know I will! God Bless🌹

Hi, I entirely and understand, but you got to take time for yourself. I have a 14-year-old and a 9-year-old. I still have to take my breaks, but you got to do your time during naps and when the family wants to spend time with him. Sometimes you have to get up earlier than your child and sip some tea and read the bible; just embrace being you without the titles you hold. It takes the little things to get you thru but trust honey, you will get back to you, and the older your child gets, the better. The good part is you got help. I am a single mother with two and trust me it was hard in the beginning but you will get back to take care of you in a major way. Also take your channel in every area of you. You can mix it up.

You are awesome! I enjoy you and the skits you do are hilarious! The first year, being a new mother is a challenge. Babies grow and change so much in the first year! Along with the other challenges you are going through, it makes total sense that you feel “in a rut.” We are here for you! Thanks for being so real! You are helping someone else through your transparency. Keep up the good job!

I know you’re not looking for advice but the thing that comes to my mind is evolution. You’re not the same person that you were before having your baby. You’ve entered a new chapter of life and it’s going to require a different you. No you don’t have to loose yourself, maybe just readjustments. And self care as well as your KZbin channel might look a little differently with your new role. And always remember to be kind and patient with yourself. You got this! Love and light to you always 💖

I'm all for doing more videos other than hair. I think people came to your channel for hair, but they stick around for your personality. I'm not married and not a mom, but I watch videos like that all the time. And who knows, it'll probably help you reach new viewers that you wouldn't have gotten if you exclusively keep doing hair videos. Best of luck! ❤

There's nothing wrong with not being okay all the time; especially being a first time mother. I hope you have a lot of support because having people be there for you for at least the first year of your child's life is critical. There's also no harm in leaving baby with someone who you trust so that you can enjoy a few hours to yourself. That's so important. Trust me, I've been where you are before. Your feelings are valid, and it will take you some time to adjust to your new life, but being surrounded by supportive people makes a world of a difference.

It takes time...remember your body is still recovering from the birth. Breast feeding is an amazing gift for your child(helps bonding) but it is draining to the body. Having children full stop is a big life adjustment in different ways and yes the early years of child rearing are generally demanding(all about baby). Once children start nursery it is the game changer to focus some time on yourself. For now just be easy on yourself your doing fab ...many of us mothers can relate. Please keep discussing the reality of motherhood.

@@DesireeMarie No problem my sweet. I'm 43 now, been through it . I have had two very active sons. Both beautiful rewarding experiences but I was drained.. exhausted in the early years..Just like you I was at home with both(that is no easier option) in fact going out to a job would be easier. Looking after a home babies partner/ husband(properly)and finding a bit for yourself is strength. Remember creating this safe secure base for your little boy now will set him up for the rest of his life. My youngest is 8 now (has Autism)so we ride through different ongoing challenges still. However, I can really see now where my commitment to him, sacrifices made, has paid off...he is exceeded medical predictions. Eat lots of high carb foods/ protein. Check out natural remedies... vitamins you can supplement your diet with that don't interfere with breast feeding to help balance your hormones and give an energy boost. Love to you my sister.

Your brand is allowed to change and evolve as you do, love. I had to learn that. I also realized that who you are in reality doesn’t have to be separate from your “flagship” selling point/product/service. Why did you choose to open another channel? You could have created a playlist of your life vlogs on here. The playlist would have separated the content into categories but make it more manageable and authentic for you. Just a thought.

Although I have no children, I hear you when you say, you’re busy with family and other things. It’s very difficult for you to take time for SELF. I’m sure there will be many that will suggest ways and tell how you can do that. You mentioned yourself, that locs are supposed to give us a certain amount of freedom, right? Have you ever tried to free or semi free form ?? I invite you to check out 2 young ladies channel….Ingrid from Toronto and Berny Heals. I personally use this method and it has really saved sooOO much time and money ! I’m very interested in what you think.
