I think that for a lot of fans, they do not realize how good of a vocalist Su-Metal really is. I might be wrong, but sometimes she is really typecast due to the way the group was formed and nurtured at the beginning for the kawaii metal genre. If you watch her Legend 1997 video for Akatsuki you can plainly see that she was capable, even at 16 years old, of singing anything she puts her mind to. She has done masterful work, but I feel she has unplumbed depths to still be discovered. Her vocal talents are on a par with some of the greats, like Donna Summer, Whitney Houston and Adele, especially in the area of sheer power. In Japan, to me, Yuko Suzuhana is at the top of the heap, maybe even globally. Her range and form and technical singing aspects are astounding. She can literally sing anything, from operatic arias to traditional Japanese themes to belting it out for classic style rock. It doesn't hurt that she is a very accomplished concert pianist and a talented composer and songwriter and is one of the youngest instructors of shigin ever. Her work in traditional Japanese dance is just perfection. To me, she is the finest frontwoman on the planet. Su-Metal is only inches behind her.

Good reaction. This was their very first performance in the UK and they were on the main stage in front of 50-60,000 UK metalheads who didn't know who they were before they started. As you heard at the end after just 25-30 minutes and 5 songs the crowd were calling for "one more song". This was the moment they felt accepted by the metal community and the moment they believed their music could cross all borders and the language barrier. It gave them the confidence to carry on and to tour the world. Su-metal was 16, Yuimetal and Moametal had their 15th birthdays just before (Moametal's was the day before).

Nice reaction, thanks! Let me say this, just because it feels good to say: down the Fox Hole you go, head first! 😁 "Ijime, Dame Zettai" or "IDZ" is definitely one of my top favorites. And this one was an early work, being their second song according to live performances since it premiered live in July 2011. Although they decided to release it way later probably because it was "too" straight power metal and not as crazy as "Iine" for example. The song also has an important message, being an anti-bullying song. The tittle roughly translates as: "Absolutely no more bullying". This performance is a very important piece in BABYMETAL's history. This was their first performance in the UK (actually their first "big" stage outside Japan) and that was a massive festival with 50.000+ metalheads most of which never heard about BABYMETAL before. They were very afraid before they got on stage because that particular type of crowd can be very disgusting if the band don't match their expectations (bottles with disgusting content involved, you know...). Also the organizers moved them to the main stage several weeks before due the online buzz. And they actually were worried that no one would show up. The result? Leaving the stage while the crowd were chanting "we want more!". They also sold more merch than any other band that weekend (including Iron Maiden, Metallica, Anthrax, Dream Theater, Slayer...). The most epic anti-bullying song ever recorded and one of their most performed songs (almost every show along with Megitsune). Another sign of their professionalism...you can see where Yui's tutu tore and kept getting caught on her glove. She keeps going as if nothing is wrong.

@@josikijo Yui has the cute chubby cheeks. Moa has the dimples and big smiles. Starting with the Legend S - Apocalypse XX concert in 2017, Yui is no longer present as her doctor recommended she not perform due to undisclosed health reasons and officially left the group in 2018.

Babymetal do world tours, it's easy to find the list on the internet. But the big shows are really in Japan. They also have big appearances like at Wembley which was deemed so important that a movie was made about it. Other shows also spawned DVD's/Blu-rays, such as "Live at the Forum". Several countries in Europe, Mexico, USA have already received the girls. Babymetal was the first Asian artist to top the Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart.

@@josikijo I sent some links, there's a lot to see... It's videos of them already having a large loyal and passionate fan base. But it would be really cool for you to watch the videos from the beginning (2010, 2011, 2012), the first 3 shows that had a good audience, "Legend I", "Legend D", "Legend Z". In "Legend I" Su is still 14 years old on stage, Yui and Moa are 12 (almost 13).

In this classic IDZ performance you get a bit of everything: Kami Band shredding, Su power vocals, Su's hyper extended elbow, Moa and Yui backing vocals, dancing, and a Yui tutu malfunction. The title takes an iconic Japanese anti-drugs slogan "Mayaku, Dame, Zettai" (Absolutely no drugs) and uses it against bullying substituting Ijime (bullying or abuse) for Mayaku (drugs). I think people can become emotional while watching BM because they seem so small and innocent and there's a fear that they will fail, but seasoned BM and Sakura Gakuin fans know that BM are in reality talented and highly trained professionals who are going to crush it every time. In the two years before this concert BM had worked hard to transform themselves from an idol group, just singing and dancing to backing tracks, into a metal band capable of performing live in concert. The Kami Band had been formed and integrated into the performances and they had played several Japanese festivals and done the Legend concerts in preparation for touring. After that BM were getting good buzz and they were invited to perform at Sonisphere, a big UK metal festival at Knebworth, as part of their first European tour. They were nervous because the UK crowd was notoriously tough and weren't expecting such a large crowd, but by the end of their 30 min set they had won them over completely. IDZ was their finale. It's the moment that critics and the international audience realized that BM were a legitimate headlining band and not just a gimmick. It was also a complete vindication of Koba's vision and everyone's hard work and I think you can see that in Su's smile at the end.
