Message for everyone driving in the States, probably Mexico too.. When the school bus has its' red lights flashing and it's dropping kids off, both sides of the road are supposed to come to a full stop. Very high penalty, very big naughty! Be careful!

@surferdude64228 күн бұрын
@marcus998 No, you are required to stop if the red lights are flashing, even without a stop sign, regardless of whether you are approaching the bus from the front or the rear. If approaching from the front, it doesn't apply on a 4 lane road or divided highway, but only on a 2 lane road.

@@surferdude642 that's what I was taught in Virginia, bit hazy long ago but almost sure you are 100% correct.

One could and should assume the stop sign is going to come out and be on display; or it has been out and now in a return status, either way its a cautionary moment of presumption. Have a good day

Have been using a home made Scott oiler for the last 20 years. I found securely mounting one on a F800GS a pain. Needs a little bracket next to the sprocket. I gave up in the end due to the risk of damage. For reference I found that 80 weight gear oil works well as lube and that was long before I read the official DID chain recommendation to use it. People use sticky lube which attracts dirt. Go with something that keeps the chain clean. You get more life.

A cracked rim, that's what caused the flat tyre. Great you found a helping hand, Kinga. Chain oiler on a dirtbike? Hmmh, it would rather clean the mud/sand off meticulously every night. Oilers are fantastic for road riding, though. Comfortable and make the chain last at least twice as long, even on really powerful bikes. Guess why I know ;-) Happy rides in Baja, Günter/Nürnberg

I just changed my chain. After 52,000 km of mixed dirt roads and highway the front sprocket was a bit worn. Chain was still good. Home made chain oiler running olive oil. Messy but worked well. I just didn't want to put a new sprocket into a worn chain. I have the tube touching the rear sprocket. If it dangles the air carries the oil away. One drop per minute was plenty.

What do people eat there? I saw no Burger King, McDonalds or any of the total crap US restaurants. So nice to see none. Where I live there are several towns that do not allow ANY franchise restaurants. Wish all of Canada was free of all that imported crap including Walmart. The El Diablo Run is down that way. If I could handle crowds I might go.

I’ve lived in America for 11 years. I’ve heard a lot of bad stuff about it, especially lately. I go to Mexico to experience the sheer magic of a wonderful country and avoid the bullshit north of the border.

I grew up in México, I can say it always depends where you grew up at: México is big: 761,610 square miles, a lot of territory, 32 states, a bunch of cities, towns, ranches, a lot of biodiversity and millions of circumstances. Planning to get a GS and head to Mexico (Baja California) in February.
@ramonibarra5731Ай бұрын
Of course there are bad people but it's the least, most people are good and will make you feel welcome 99% of the time. Also, the bad guys will leave tourists on a motorcycle alone most of the time. It is not recommended to drive during night time. Obviously just try to be respectful since you are a visitor.
@onherbike29 күн бұрын
It's understandable to have concerns based on what you've heard. Everyone has their own comfort levels and makes travel decisions based on different factors. Personally, I've chosen to listen to the many people who have traveled through Mexico and had positive experiences. I've been riding in Mexico for 3 months now and have found it easy to travel. I feel safe and have only had great experiences! I hope you might consider exploring Mexico someday and discovering its beauty for yourself.

The Scottoiler is installed wrong, it should not be dripping on the chain. The nozzle should be on the sprocket above the chain, so the sprocket can draw the oil into the chain.... The way you have it, you will run dry and the chain will fail.
