You can't steal wisdom, you can only grow it by learning how to use the knowledge of what is and what isn't. All the thousands of pages give you perspectives on what you can learn to eliminate like the shavings of your craft. Once you've seen enough to know what isn't, there you have it. The trouble is; people have no idea that the vast majority of today's world "ISN'T", and they can't discard enough to gain a glimpse of real-IT-y. You set a decent example there Herm. The 'American Dream' i$ the world's nightmare. I feel like I met someone like you 50 or so years ago when I was a kid and I thank you now for carrying on that Spirit of grounded simplicity through the whirlwind...or maybe it's just gas.😄

@@peg9508one brother planted acorns and grew trees that could be harvested one day. The other brother sat under trees and didn’t do much. You get lumber from grown trees but not from an acorn. You could also think of it as ideas. Everyone has ideas. But only some people dare to try making them into this world. I’m thinking the “unsuccessful” brother maybe wrote some poems under the trees😄. It may not pay well but it’s something just to create a poem out of nothing.

In spring illknock out the door and create a roomier area with my addition 'which is my fireplace furnace room , it will really kelp. . I couldnt stucco because of restrictions in the regeon. ive got a 3 ft skirt and roofed r20 on top of the 40 footter . 25years ago my wife and 3 children lived in a 40 further north in BC ,no power . for 2 years, one week it never got above 38 below. It was a challenge fireing up mylittle truck to go to work .But in those days one could focus because the world wasnt in chaos . plus if I we could shave a few years off it would help . ill check out your previous vids this week and commet if i have questions or suggestions . thanks.@@wildernesshermit

I absolutely love your work/ hobby of working those pieces of wood. Thought about doing that myself years ago, but never had any extra time living the crazy life. Now I am retired and stuck at home because living on SS is the worst and only getting worse at best. Maybe I will take up chiseling at some wood. Definitely, that small block of Bass Wood I show cost about 30 cents and the carving knife was hand forged for me for only $38.00. A good knife can be bought for about $28.00
