I think that Gareth had the right idea about this situation from the start: if someone is obviously trying to control the group logistics from the start via the logistics, i.e., "Come to my house!" this is someone who is simply looking to get people to do things for her on the grounds of being so "gracious" as to host. She will feel --- in her own mind--- as though everyone "owes" her, and what is extraordinarily remarkable! --- is trying to cash in on this solipsistic determination BEFORE the group even meets for its first session!

I LOVEEEEE Jake and Gareth so it hurts to write this but I’m hoping if the right person sees it maybe the show gets even better. The second half of the season seems to have turned into a lot less about the caller and way more about the comedy. This just makes it a bit uncomfortable to listen to because even though the bits are funny there are way too many points in the episode where the bits don’t stop and the caller just sits in silence. Then when we get back to the caller it doesn’t feel like they get the best help they could have anymore. I understand it is a comedy podcast and it is why we listen but in the beginning of the season the callers seemed to get very good attention and help on top of the show being hilarious. It may just be a me thing but I have gone from listening to every single episode more than once to now only tuning in if there is a guest I like. Am I alone in this? P.S. We all know it but Lisa Gilroy is AMAZING!

THE issue is isn’t the comedy, I love that, the issue is that Jake lost his focus, usually he’s remembering and keeping everyone else on track that this is about the caller, and we’re on the the team of the caller. He didn’t do that.

Also what I meant about the comedy is that the bits sometimes just go on for too long and they don’t involve the caller. They used to be shorter and the caller used to be in on the jokes more often than not. I miss it.
