I remember hating that episode as a kid. DK gets framed for things he didn't do, gets banished to basically freeze to death for it and it's never cleared up. The other Kongs just bring him back because they need someone to fight King K Rool off. Only redeeming factor is the songs in the episode are pretty good.

It's fun seeing the reasonings on both sides of the argument between liking the new design and preferring the Rareware era DK we've come to know and love. ...Honestly it was a bit weird initially, but it's starting to grow on me. The room with the brow ridge gives him a lot more potential to show emotion with expressions.

@@twoshoedtommy8054 personally I’m a fan of the old model because if you look at monkeys irl they don’t have the kind of advanced facial expressions humans have most of the time it’s all mouth movements and eye contact rather than brow movement like when’s the last time you’ve genuinely seen a monkey move their brow? That and The old model created pretty good screenshots in the brawl cutscenes
