I do something similar where I project my problems onto my characters, but I've never seen it as a bad thing. It becomes the theme of the story, and I'm able to see them overcome a certain obstacle, then see how I could do the same. I also tend to write about themes that I'm conflicted over. For example, "loyalty". Like what makes it a good quality, and at what extent does it become unhealthy/toxic? I think it's totally normal to write about things that bother or interest us! 💐

i agree that is what my story is based on bc im going through something rn and in my story i want the girl to have a good ending to give myself motiviation that my story can have a happy ending too. so real

hii ana. About the part where you said you make your characters share problems with you, well, its actually the oposite! its very healthy to write down your struggles that being in a journal form, a novel form or whatever. it really helps our concious and sub concious mind to process things better and with different perspectives (its the whole principle of why journaling can help people with c-ptsd). I personally started journaling and writing as a form of coping with my struggles and fell in love with the craft. ˆˆ

that’s so true!! haha i think I just feel so terrible giving my problems to my characters because - ahh! they are my babies! i don’t want them to struggle and be hurt 😂 haha but of course! it’s a great coping mechanism - writing in general is. LOVED hearing ur thoughts🤍and I totally agree too

i find it so interesting how people can relate to the 1st one because although i have several WIPs, there’s only one i truly love and commit to. when i have new ideas i always always always incorporate them into this one WIP, rather than creating an entirely new story. there’s a problem with this though because stories are better when they revolve around one or several significant themes, and i think i’ve overloaded my story with a bit too many 😭

My two bad writing habits are: -I understand the burn out too; having a normal 9-5 job sometimes I feel burnt out from working all day, and I want to just come home and sit on the couch and watch Netflix -when working on a longer project, sometimes I get bored and leave that project behind for a shiny, new idea, lol

Hi again. Yea, love this vlog. It makes you more unique as a writer. Plus, my bad writing habits are procrastinating or napping. Since I love being in bed, reading or writing, but a draw back to my writing vibe. And for the last week I felt like reading more than writing, even though my brain is stuck on Mars ideas to sort out my werewolf story scene in chapter 14, 15, 16 and 17. And for the last 1 hour, it is trying to figure out what part Mayson/Mason plays in with my 8 regular characters in the middle of chapter 14. Plus, shiny ideas hit me last month when I thought of another 3 story ideas. So far, I have 8 extra stories on notes. After that vlog about your 7 shiny story ideas, my mind decided to also procrastinate on shiny new werewolf story ideas. Your vlogs and podcasts are very motivating in my writing time of life. Thanks again for another awesome vlog. ❤️💖

bad habit number 1 is soooo relatble;i had this new idea but i have like 3-5 projects waiting for me to continue with them. but i did finish one and im soo happy i did(and all thanks to your vids ,as they were my biggest inspo during the writing process) but i do hope i can finish the rest of my wip. love your vids,Ana ,always a big inspo in the writing community! Edit: habit 5 ....ummm i can not talk about the characters i have left broken....but yes its relatable(when i say broken i mean like with what i would consider a bad thing,or even a good one cuz it could get toxic at a level..but yeah,i dont know...)
