I'M NOT A TOY REVIEWER!... but now what!?
Channel Update: The Struggle Behind the Scenes and What's Next for TMNT Tube!"
Hey, Tubular Turtle Fans! 🐢
It's been a wild ride here at TMNT Tube, and I wanted to take a moment to give you all an honest update on the challenges we've been facing behind the scenes. Running this channel has been a blast, but it's no secret that keeping the turtle power going has been tougher than a showdown with Shredder!
As many of you know, I also run four other channels, including ones for awesome clients like Toy Federation, Eternia Dreams, and Five Minute Docs. Juggling all these responsibilities has been like trying to master a quadruple ninja flip! 🤯 Unfortunately, it means I've been stretched thin, and I'll admit, it's impacted the content on this channel.
I've been churning out TMNT toy reviews, and while I love our shell-shocked friends, I've realized that it's not my strong suit. I'm not feeling the same passion and flair I have for my other projects. It's time for a change, and I want your input!
But fear not, Turtle Fam! 🐢 I've got some cool stuff to share, including my recent toy hauls featuring the McFarlane Batman: The Animated Series Build-a-Figure line, some gnarly TMNT re-releases, the AEW Wheeler Yuta action figure, and a bunch more! It's a collector's dream, and I can't wait to show you all the goodies.
Now, here's where you come in! I want your ideas and suggestions. What do you want to see on TMNT Tube? Should we dive into more collector's content, explore the history of TMNT, or maybe embark on some wild adventures with our favorite heroes in a half shell?
Your feedback means the world to me, and together, we can make TMNT Tube the ultimate destination for everything Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. So, drop your thoughts in the comments, and let's chart the course for the next chapter of our tubular journey!
Cowabunga, and thanks for being the best Turtle Fans a channel could ask for! 🐢✨

Keeping your channel solely Turtles is sort of a tough sell for a lot of viewers. Not everyone has the passion for them as you do and there isn't as deep of a reserve or back catalog as some other toy lines. I'm not saying this to be offensive, at all. It's obvious you enjoy making videos, for the most part, and it's clear you have a strong desire to create quality content for not only your channel but also the channels you are actively working on/for. If you're currently working on content for 5 channels it is understandable that you would be getting burnt out. I know I would. I think, for me, what would be interesting going forward would be something that you sort of did for this video. Maybe on this channel, or on a completely different channel it would be cool to see and learn the ins and outs of what it's like to manage a channel (or several), what it's like to create content for one. The process, the set up, etc. I did some film/video 25ish years ago and it would be interesting to see what has changed and what has stayed basically the same. Ultimately, it is your channel. If you say... "Ok, well this was fun. Have a good one everyone, I'm done with this..." That is and should be for you to decide. You will never be able to make great content if your heart isn't in it. Taking a break to reassess your scope and ambition may be all you need to move forward. I wish you the best in whichever way you go! 🍻

Just to note: I don't watch action figure reviews much. I watch more videos like the ones you create. I've always wanted to have my own YT channel for toy videos, but I never could really figure out what I had to offer that was unique. I also just don't have the time and energy to produce content consistently. As for your collection, only you can decide. If you mainly bought things for YT video purposes, if they have fulfilled those purposes, then maybe it's time to sell some. If your collection genuinely generates happiness for you, it's yours!

History of figures, recap waves that all 4 brothers matched the theme, like musician. then comparison within a wave, like sports turtles. In that wave not 1 turtles did the same sport, which seems daft to me. If you have 1 figure, you have great B-roll, then split in other images or cuts of the original commercials. also, remember that if you buy a figure and create content, it’s tax deductible, so, ya know… keep your receipts

I'm here for you, I'll watch what comes out and to be honest ive enjoyed pretty much everything so far but do what's good for you. I wouldn't sell everything I would however really focus it down and try get it back to the originality of the intial idea then can start to branch out slightly but it still fits the mould i think you're maybe just overwhelmed with being a bit stretched bro

Nothing wrong with accepting things. It definitely felt like you weren't that good in the review parts of videos and were better at other aspects in making them and such. Focusing on the strengths sounds best.

I’m sure it can be tough if you’re relying on YT as a means of revenue. If you are, then you do have to be conscious of views and subscriptions and maybe lean in to content you may not always enjoy. If you’re not reliant on the monetary aspect, then I think you should absolutely take liberties with experimenting with different content. Either way, if you’re not enjoying what you’re doing, it’ll be hard to keep motivated. You might see a dip in viewers and such if you put out videos of non toy related material only because you started building that base with Turtles. There’s probably just as big of an audience out there for the documentary type content too, it may just take some time to build that following. As far as alienating the people who just watch for the Turtle content, it may be a necessary risk to get to where you want. I think you may be surprised though of how many people stick around because we’re invested in you as a creator more so than your material, if that makes sense. I enjoy a lot of what your doing and apologize if not interacting might suggest otherwise. I hope you find a balance and most of all enjoy creating content!

This is the first video of yours I’ve found. I did just see the Eternia Dreams video last night and my first thought as a viewer and content maker was, “This is really well done”. You’re obviously a story teller. This video told me a really interesting story about you and toys and it was well done. I liked that. I would watch more of that. Good luck on your journey! Would love to chat some time!

I want to say I have enjoyed your channel and especially all of the excitement you showed for Mutant Mayhem and the toys from that movie. I also liked seeing your collection and your quest to obtain the 50 Leos. I would love to still see updates on that goal and maybe some spotlight videos on some of the gems in your collection. As for your collection, man that is a tough one. I myself have been downsizing from a massive collection I built up and it can be challenging and somewhat daunting too. If something you have is no longer bringing you joy, then it might be time to let it go. I would seriously look at your collection and single out the items that you still love to look at or are proud to have. Anything that is just filler or seems less than now, start piles for sell and donate. It's nice to have a focus on a collection too, so if it's all about Leo, then go that route, but I still think you should hang onto at least one full set of the brothers. Whatever you decide about your collection, I hope you find what works for you and brings the least path of regret. Back to the channel focus, it's tough to not say it should still be somewhat about TMNT given its name, but I do like the idea of seeing stories about TMNT toys whether it's from your own collection, other collectors, speaking with vendors at shows, meeting the toy designers, etc... But that doesn't also mean you can't have side quests so to speak showcasing some of your other likes and toys. I collect lots of fandoms, which is why it's difficult for me to have focus in my collecting and when downsizing my collection. But I love variety and while I have a strong focus on certain properties, I think I would also love seeing your views on some of the other toys you collect. They don't have to be reviews, just showcases of what you like about the piece. What made you pick up that X-Men '97 Wolverine for instance? What do you like about it, what do you not like about it. What is your history with the X-Men, is it from the comics, the old cartoon, just the toys? I think that would be interesting to learn. I think there's so many reviewers out there that pick up stuff because they review it, but in most of those reviews I seldom see the joy or interest and the why they picked it up. I think hearing about the why behind pieces in a collection would be cool to hear more about. Anyway, I hope you continue with this channel and that you do have some fun with it. After all, they're toys, they're meant to be fun! 😊👍
