The awesome thing about this movie is that through Grimmel it gives you the opportunity to see what Hiccup would have become had he killed Toothless in the beginning rather than freeing him.
@EricGraham942 жыл бұрын
Not to mention that Grimmel is the one HTTYD villain who technically won; he got what he wanted by the end despite his death: dragons and humanity separated. What made him threatening wasn’t his strength but his intelligence
@mariuszzet67652 жыл бұрын
@@EricGraham94 nah honestly grimmel is not even smart and didnt win in terms of intelligence as well. wanna know a actually smart villian from httyd? Viggo was best the dagger
@Aer_Marique2 жыл бұрын
@@mariuszzet6765 the entire movie is displaying his superior intelligence. Night Furies are a terror for dragon hunters, the books say "do not engage, and pray", but for Grimmel they're sport. The reason he loses his life is (1) he underestimates Hiccups selflessness, and (2) underestimates a dragons ability to warm up to humans. It was his lack of empathy.
@Wyattoons2 жыл бұрын
Fun fact: It’s mentioned that Hiccup tried to make a new tail fin to let Toothless fly alone, and we see that in the old Christmas special that takes place right after the first movie. Toothless destroyed it because he wanted to fly with Hiccup, not on his own. Also I love that you can see the bad alpha from the second movie in the Hidden World!

The Light Fury is not invisible. With the help of a plasma volley, she warms up the scales, turning them into reflectors for the necessary time, and thanks to this, high in the sky, they reflect everything around, including the sky and clouds. The moment in the camp in the forest, clearly shows it. The grass is reflected in the mirror scales

This movie was great because of the ending. It rips you apart because you think he never sees toothless again. Then even when it gives you relief and they reunite years later, you get that sense of nostalgic sadness because everyone’s all grown up and the story’s over. Then you’re left off feeling happy and content again because the ending leaves you knowing that their families can continue seeing each other for the rest of their lives and even explore the dragon world when they want to.

I just noticed, when hiccup meets toothless for the first time hiccup is fully functional (has his leg still don't know how else to say that XD) and toothless is not as his tail is broken. You just have to watch a TV series about dragons, not only because of the awesome connection with the second part and the explanation of some things (like Stoick's dragon and Hiccup's sword) but also because of the plot in principle. They dive deeper into what happened on that 5 year gap between the first film and this. They expand on Hiccup and Astrid's relationship, Hiccup and his dad, as well as flesh out the rest of the gang, and how Berk adapted to living with dragons. You should also watch the Gift of the Night Fury holiday special because the events of that are referenced in the next film. And if you like watching Astrid and Hiccup's relationship develop (since when have they been engaged, for example) then you just won’t be able to stop watching this series))))

Grimmel ripping off Hiccup’s dragon flight suit is symbolic of what he’s been doing the whole movie - ripping away the dragon world away from him. But by the time Hiccup unhooks his mechanical leg, it cements the decision he’ll make later: letting Toothless and the dragons go. By extension you could say Hiccup ended up agreeing that - YES - dragons need to be on their own. That’s why Grimmel is definitely a dark mirror of Hiccup.

The first one still is my personal favourite, since I consider it a nearly perfect film, but 2 and The Hidden World are not far behind. In my opinion, this is the best animated trilogy ever created. Visuals never disappoint, especially THW, music is just brilliant, easily one of the best movie scores ever and very lovable characters, that are even better thanks to the shows, especially Race to the Edge. I also love that they used the starting quote of the first HTTYD book at the end of THW. It really nicely wraps it all up.
