Good points if used mostly on the range with no subscription. Got my mlm2pro Nov 2023, worked reasonably well with occasional dropped connections. Today it gets stuck waiting for camera stream to load- unable to get image to align the unit with the ball. Basically a nonfunctional paper weight. Could be a software update bug or hardware issue or server issue. Awaiting tech support response, should be under warranty. Bushnell launch pro with subscription fees is a better bargain than $200 subscription and a paper weight. Haven’t given up on Rapsodo - there is potential.

I can't recall the exact context of when this happened (might have been some of the earliest betas of the connector) but I think that you end up with dead straight shots that go the specific distance expected based on the ball speed and VLA/HLA.

Are you going to do a long-term cost to so people get a good idea of total costs? I was looking at the Mevo+ but when I broke it down I would have to run the MLM2 Pro for 7 years just to break even. That isn't factoring in that I will likely resell it after 3 years and likely return the 2 years of subscription I paid for.

You are my go-to guy when it comes to the MLM2Pro. I am looking forward to your review without a subscription. There still seem to be a few issues with this device, and they need to be fixed by the time I have to renew my subscription; otherwise, it's not worth my money. I run it on an iPad and a Lenovo Android tablet. It works someone times on one, and then it doesn't work on the other. There are still too many bugs in the software.

I think they’re constantly trying to improve the user experience in the software which can make the bugs appear a bit more. Once they refine it to where they don’t need to update it as much the bugs should settle down

I bought this unit because I wanted accurate data on a budget. In Canada, golf courses are closed for half the year, so it's easier for me to justify paying up for the sub, I'll get 2000-3000 shots in over winter and as mentioned, I want the most life-like experience I can to keep my game sharp. It costs ~$40 an hour to hit into a Trackman sim up here. MLM2Pro with annual sub is probably ~$4 an hour.

@@golf5555555I need a portable indoor / outdoor setup, MLM2Pro was hands-down the best for that. Assuming you have a fixed indoor setup for winter only, I would look for a different device IMO, spend up for GC Hawk or Mevo+, Bushnell Pro, etc. I am on a budget but 100% need accurate ball data and portability. For these high demands MLM2Pro is great, though not w/o it's flaws (for the price, well worth it).

I was in the same boat as I had an R10(fantastic unit for what it is) and ended up moving to an OG Skytrak. No subscription fee, very accurate, can connect to GSPro for free and able to purchase new (bought my on 2nd swing for $900). I have it connected to a gaming PC and have not had any issues with no reads.

I have the ST+ as my home launch monitor so not sure if I need a subscription for 2 launch monitors. I love taking this thing to the range.

When I had an MLM2Pro I tried it without subscribing initially. From memory you only get the practice where the camera shows your swing down the line (i.e. no range). Interestingly it showed all the stats including back spin, VLA, HLA, Ball Speed etc.- the one missing was spin axis. But it did show (if selected), how far the ball was offline. So it looked like it was just 'hiding' the Spin Axis. I think Rapsodo need to offer an unlocked offer ( 2 years fees?), so you don't need the subscription. I've got an old GC2- no subscription required apart from GSPro!

I guess my question or comment is if you have a more “confined space” like a garage…it’s more difficult with the garmin and some of the other devices. Ami I wrong to think with a smaller space and a subscription that this is the best device or “bang for the buck?” I define space as 8-10 ft wide and 12-14 feet long. Adding in things like space for the hitting mat/screen (hold off distance to the back wall) the distance away from striking mat to device for accurate readings. This device seems the best…would love any help or advice!! Thank you and great content!

I was also wondering about two things with the subscription: - There's no incentive (as far as I know of) to keep the subscription going without any gaps, correct? It's always the same price per year, no discount if you keep it running. - And following that: maybe they want to get you back into the subscription and will offer you a discount if you don't renew... I'm very interested to see if you find out anything about that.

Mlm2pro did not want to make monthly subscription for the people who cannot play indoors. So only 6months max to use it, but we need to pay for a year. I would gladly pay monthly, but now getting into end this subscription

I'm deciding which one to buy. Garmin R10 looks great, but a significant drawback: can't be used with the Stack Syst (why??) MLM2-P looks great but I HATE the expensive subscription. Really looking forward to your results (soon, please!)

I understand the frustration with the annual subscription… $200 feels like a ton with a $700 upfront cost add the E6 and it’s like $600 a year. However, I recently looked at upgrading to a Bushnell and fees only get worse. Unless you want the cheapest thing possible… a Garmin, this is the best value in golf launch monitors

It does get up there quite a bit. They’ve promised more updates which also upgrade the unit a lot. Will see what more updates bring but you’re right, it’s a budget launch monitor for a reason.

I’ll be faced with the same decision at the end of the summer, so I’ll stay tuned. I’ve reviewed the Rapsodo website and can’t find anything definitive on what’s included with the subscription. The description for the Premium Membership seems to be for the original MLM, as spin data isn’t mentioned. I’d happily pay the fee if the app was better, but it’s pretty pedestrian. I’m not a sim course player, so I don’t particularly care about the latest releases. If face/path data is ever added, I’d be more inclined to renew, even with the basic nature of the app. I’m also considering the OG Skytrak as a replacement. The used market for those has dropped 50% since the Plus was released.

losing spinaxis is the only thing that would be a big deal in my eyes. I know the Bushnell Launch Pro ball-data model is much more ($2k) US but you get all the spin data on the unit screen and dont lose it if you dont want to subscribe for instance.

I don’t fully understood people’s complaints with subscription vs high price tag. If you get a mevo plus your spending that subscription price in the price tag. If you did the subscription process plus awesome golf subscription, itwould still take 9 years for it to equal the price of mevo plus. In nine years I bet there will be something new and glorious to upgrade too. Now if your all in for the next 15 years on mevo plus then yeah definitely a better price but all in all it’s not crazy different. Great video and idea. I have a r10 with awesome golf subscription and love it! Your videos have helped with the r10 and getting the most out of it!

What is there not to understand? You need the subscription to use 3rd party software like GSPro; even for an API they didn't even make. What makes the MLM2Pro suck even more is that the spin data is locked behind a paywall. Without spin data, it makes this unit virtually useless. That is anti consumer. That is like saying you bought a new car, but to use the AC or heated seats that came with the car, you would need to pay a subscription fee. The Mevo+ is also way ahead of the MLM2Pro and you own everything out right. With that 9 year price tag, you get 12 courses on e6 that you can connect to a PC or iOS, very accurate face impact and club data that the MLM2Pro doesn't have. You also have a unit that actually works and not full of bugs. I had an R10(fantastic unit for what it is) and ended up moving to an OG Skytrak. No subscription fee, very accurate, can connect to GSPro for free and able to purchase new (bought mine new on 2nd swing for $900). I have it connected to a gaming PC and have not had any issues with no reads.

I understand all you are saying but really skytrak and MLM2Pro both have a subscription they(skytrak, mevo+) are just putting it in the price of the unit. if you don't like it, great don't buy it. I'm just saying if you want a solid unit for a few years before you ready to upgrade do something bigger/$$$ you can do the MLM2 with sub and not spend the $3,000 for these pricey models. I want to upgrade some day to a possible (skytrak, mevo + ) but the price tag is not justifiable for me. but with the money saved I've been able to build a small easy to use simulator bay in my garage(with the r10). maybe in a few years I can upgrade. I thought about the mlm2 because of the spin axis... but me just playing with the r10 and then taking it to the driving range and getting past what i don't see and use what I know about my swing to fix it. and i get it, I hate that you have to pay for the mlm2 pro subscription and hear that people hate the app and other just unlocking it to use in e6 or awesome golf... but this company needs the money to develop and they are getting intro people in with a lower price tag. Smart business!

GS Pro isn’t free w/Mevo… again, you’re paying way more up front for Mevo+… plus the subscription that MLM offers pays the company to employ people to give us regular updates that down the road will include some club data.

Gspro costs 250 a year. When a LAunch monitor add an additional subscription to use their device with 3rd party apps, it makes it far less appealing. I’m not paying for multiple subscriptions. I want to own my unit outright and use it for he next decade without having to pay money to use the hardware. Software requires a subscription because it is constantly evolving. A launch monitor evolves only when the company that manufactures it releases a new piece of hardware

It’s great at the range and good for hitting into a screen. It’s absolutely terrible hitting into a net. My biggest issue with this is that it been 10-100 yards off, missed shots, constantly reconnect issues, and unacceptable bugs in the iPad app! They should be embarrassed for changing $200 annually software subscription for terrible software!

Subscriptions need to be adjusted, I will never use their 30,000 courses so why would I pay for them, I now have an OG Skytrak, GC2 and a MLM2Pro which I may as well sell as my space in the garage is too short for it, which is why I moved to an OG Skytrak and then upgraded to a GC2 (No Subscription other than GSPro required for either of these)

Only thing I found when I tried a skytrack+ when I had a lesson with one. Is kept disconnecting during the lesson found it very frustrating. Instructor was signing its praises but the Co.plained that it kept doing it lol. Was in its early release days though. And on saying that I did a few problems with my original gc3 once after a month of owning and the a couple months after having g it repaired. Ended up getting a new unit

There’s an open API but it’s not available on skytrak+ and I’m not sure if they’ll open it up. TGC2019 is actually better in my opinion, more you can do with it

All not worth it because they are too expensive still. If the mlm 2 pro did not have subscriptions and simply promised upgrades for say 10 years I think I would buy and recommend it to everyone Because the unit price is actually getting to a fair price. But consumers should hold off until we get everything around 500$-or so and no subs. Whoever does that first will sell a whole lot of product and make a lot of people happy. But this industry continues to overcharge in the name of “rnd” as if every other product on earth doesn’t have rnd. I thought you were actually gonna show something. That was 5 min of saying I’m going to show something that never came.
