Ooooh... I played so much of this game in my childhood. If I remember correctly you could throw the disc as far a you wanted, as long as you avoid obstacles. All I remember for sure is that I had a lot of fun cheesing the game, by throwing that thing halfway across the map, and clearing out all the enemies.

Y'know, that kinda matches up with the show. Xena could've just started off every episode by throwing her chakram at the problem and fucking off for half an hour. The thing could put the spheres from _Phantasm_ to shame.

I loved this game back in the PS1 days, the fact that the other games I played were of the caliber of Soul Reaver, MGS and Square RPGs; goes to show how much talent/love went into this little game one would suppose to be terrible.

I played this a bunch in elementary school, I just remember loving the first part so much with the greenery and the ambience sounds. Then every time you enter the burning village I would pass the controller to one of my sisters and watch them play instead lmao, it scared me so much. So glad to see this pop up in my subscriptions! brings back good memories, this game was kind of my introduction to "open world," walking around in the nature that i love so much now in games

If you decide to play thru again, the village where you had to rescue villagers with the chakram.. there was a weapon upgrade in the boat, as well as a 1-up.

Ah Xena my love. I was so gaga for her back in the day....still am today in fact. ♥ Never missed an episode of the show, it was a law at my house "we must not miss Xena, never", no matter the occasion. I had the N64 game of Xena and I remember being surprised that the PS1 game was something much different. Biggest thing is that the voices are not Lucy Lawless and Renee O Connor, probably a budget issue or contract thing. Other than that....the game is not too bad.

I loved this game. I used to try and beat it in one day because my cousin didn't have a memory card. The farthest i got was the part where you have to throw your chakram on the rocks on the ceiling to make them drop on a giant monster.

Why are ps1 games so visually appealing? I know the 2021 world is all about ray tracing and all of the pores on the skin of the protag but I kinda love the chunky blocks in this era of games

I was a big Xena/Hercules fan. I rented this game from Blockbuster and beat it on a weekend. Not that bad of an adaptation. It should've had a two player option where player 2 could play as Gabrielle.

As a kid, I adored the shit out of this game. I'm so glad to see people pick it up and give it a shot. It may not be too inventive but it was just amusing enough to learn and try new tricks. As well as the boss fights. (Even if the scrolls you pick up in the game spoil everything.) Can't wait to see you get to the endgame. It contains my favorite tracks of the whole game.
