I'm so sorry about your hand, Kim. I hope it heals quickly because it sounds awfully painful. I love the way you have accessorized the purple bandage with the pretty ring! At least you got all the heavy cutting done and can get into the sewing when you've healed. I've never heard of the trouser fabric but it sounds perfect. So many beautiful things to come.

@@kathymcconville6428 thanks Kathy. It's healed lovely now, so thankfully I'm back at my machine. The Downtown is finished now, so I'll film that tomorrow. Super pleased with it. Have a great week ❤️

Hi Kim, oh dear, what a shame, poor you, I expect it's very painful too. You'll have to sit back and make lots of plans. Hope your on the mend now xx

@@linvin18 Hi Linda, it's surprising how a little cut in an awkward place can be such a nuisance. All healed now thankfully and back at my machine! ❤️

Kim great vlog again. Can't wait to see the jacket finished. The pink corduroy jacket will look gorgeous with those denim buttons on, i also think copper coloured ones would look nice. By the way i thought I'd just mention that the fabric Bengaline is pronounced Ben ga lean lol 😊

@@bevtooth thanks Bev. Glad to know the correct pronunciation... thank you. I have been enjoying my sewing this week. ❤️

Oh no! What a painful place to have an injury! Hope it heals quickly so you can get on with your plans. Look forward to seeing the finished Downtown - still not seen any fabric I fancy for mine. I prefer the silver studs you held up. I was considering the green machine but I bought a Prym Creative Tool instead a few weeks ago, and inserted some poppers on a shirt in place of buttons, and it is much easier to use than the pliers. I need to look for some dies for the other closures and eyelets available. I'm currently browsing fleecy fabrics for some cold weather garments. I need to finish my trousers first though. I'm making the Upland Trousers by Itch to Stitch, in a linen blend from Pound Fabrics. It is a bit prone to creasing, but that's linen for you! The fabric is 75% linen and 25% cotton, 230GSM and it feels very nice and is not fraying much at all.

@@Yorkygirl59 I'm all healed now thankfully. I have just finished my Downtown, which you'll see next week, and I'm so pleased with it. I think the sound of the linen/ cotton mix sounds quite nice. I love snap poppers on garments.... Look great in the Downtown. Catch you next week ❤️

Hope your hand is not too sore Kym and heals fast! Would you consider a mustard or goldish thread for topstitching your pink jacket? I think that would look fab 😊 Regards Kaaren from down under X

@@kaarenmatthewson8241 thanks Karen from down under! Because I've used a gold topstitching thread on a previous jacket I wanted to try something different. I'm playing with threads at the moment and I think I've made my mind up. Watch this space ❤️

Ouch! I'm not safe around knives at all, or machetes. (Don't ask.) Anyway, I got used to using my door key to open packages years ago. If you have a key with jagged edges on your key ring, run it across the tape where the joint is to open the package, it will cut right thru without danger of cutting yourself. It won't harm the key, either.

@@SB_McCollum it's funny I use a scalpel most days, but pick it up upside down, then it was too late. You're right I think I need to get a key and play safe. It was very annoying that such a small cut could be so painful. Have a great week ❤️
