The Havertz signing is what has destroyed this team. All of the momentum we’d built from 22/23 was utterly killed when we spent £65M and £300k/wk on Havertz. He not only clogs up the pitch and limits the team tactically, but it has completely handcuffed the franchise financially. We spent a top 3 club record fee on a player who isn’t one of the 10 best at the club right now. It has prevented us from making other necessary changes. He doesn’t have a single position in the club. Just think of all the other players we could have signed for less than what we paid for Havertz, players which would have been far more impactful. Yet even still, he and his contract continue to affect what we do and what we can’t do, and likely will for years. It was an epic tragedy and we all knew it from the beginning. Arsenal had a chance to be the next PL dynasty, and instead Arteta brought in Havertz for £65M.

Gordon, Hall, Livramento full England internationals under Howe. Joelinton a midfield general under Howe. Murphy playing his socks off, Schar unreal. Bruno & Tonali coached to play together. Can someone tell me who has Arteta developed, coached & improved? He seems to buy established players & they either stagnant or regress. Big name players & managers parachute into established teams/clubs and they get called elite, until it doesn't quite work out and off they go to another established team or club. I watched the way Arsenal play that time, and the first thing I had in mind is, "They can't keep doing this all season. It is too taxing on the players." They had obviously nearly out of the steam midway through the season. This tactic too had caused Arsenal a lot of injuries and a few red cards. Arsenal can't keep doing this unless you have a proper backup for every position that could be rotated. At the moment, your squad is too thin and without a reliable striker.

As a Newcastle fan, I sympathise with how you're feeling because Arsenal can't break down a low or mid block in open play. I don't think it's all doom and gloom though, very few teams have attacks like ours and you'll probably finish above us because of your defence and Saka (when he comes back). However, you need a LW, CF and an 8 - but not the cheap kind. I'm not lying but even if you had Isak (and we're not selling!) would it be enough. Isak has quiet games and needs service, all CF do and Trossard isn't a bad squad player but Martinelli is NOT good enough to be a starter. Squad player who could become more, yes, but his end product is just not good enough. Don't just get the CF without getting a proper LW. As for the 8, you need legs in that midfield. Maybe you'll see it in the return leg but Bruno can feed Isak even more than Murphy and he defends like a lion - he's the best 6/8 in the league and hopefully, he'll show it.

The question to ask ourselves is HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?? Is it in terms of stats and goals scored and “progressing”? Or is it defined by trophies, silverware, and winning? Because the former is what mid-table average level clubs answer. The latter is the ONLY answer for top tier, first class franchises with standards that reflect such. Therefore, any fans who can honestly say Arteta has been successful at this club clearly don’t have the same standards that are of the level of a top European club. He has been an utter failure of a manager for Arsenal. No trophies after getting almost a billion pounds and 5+ years. (That FA Cup isn’t his; not his team, not his players, not his system, he got rid of them all first chance he had). The team projects itself to be a world class organization, and for the fans who have seen this club win top tier trophies, we know it’s in there bc we’ve experienced it, which is why it hurts so bad to witness the club go backwards and some fans accept mediocrity. We as fans have a role in this club, we need to demand the standards are raised to where they should be.

Said it last season after the season before, badly needed a striker. Summer transfer window was absolutely baffling. We got a defender and a defensive midfielder. Not only that, sold ESR sent viera out on loan and got rid of a striker. Won’t even start on Sterling, he’s awful. We’ve lost any flair and limp up front. Going into games with the intention to Just not lose.

Arteta manages like he played….i genuinely think because he was never a supremely talented star player who was very much system-oriented and relied on just keeping things moving, it seems as if he’s got an aversion to star players who can take a match in their hands and perform moments of magic on their own. It’s as if he’s not only employs a style of play that is solely possession based and sidewards or backwards just to keep things ticking, but moreso the players he selects and signs are strictly in his mold. He refuses to bring on players who are uniquely talented. Everyone is someone he can mold into what he wants, and he surely does NOT want any player to distinguish himself on their pitch. And it’s killing the team. Because the best teams have managers who not only have their systems, but they have star players who are allowed to express themselves on the pitch, even if it means the structure is broken for a single play. It’s what breaks teams down, it’s what opponents can’t account for, it’s what makes good teams exciting and frequently win matches they otherwise (as we’ve proved this year) would draw. This is Artetas ultimate team right here. A strong defense, midfielders who don’t have personality but will for the most part remain stout, and absolutely zero attacking flare. Anyone saying it’s not, all I’ve got to say is that he’s had 5+ years and almost a BILLION pounds to create his vision. He’s done that. And that’s why he needs to go. He’s maxed out until he fundamentally changes everything he believes in.

I am generally supportive of Arteta because I believe he bleeds red, and does have a vision of where he wants this club to be.. However he most certainly has made big rookie mistakes which are now hurting this team. A mixture of arogance and niavity are what is holding him back in terms of his own development as a manager. A great manager wil guide a club through a time like this and eventually achieve glory. Lets see what he has between now and the end of the season. If he fails to win one of the big boys, then you all would have been proven righ,t as five years is plenty to build a winnig team.

Ah, Kai Havertz, the "best" signing in Arsenal's history! I mean, who wouldn’t want a player who was so phenomenal at Chelsea that we just had to bring him in, right? A mere £65 million for someone who’s been consistently underwhelming-truly a masterstroke from Mikel Arteta and the genius minds at Arsenal. And let’s not forget the always-reliable AFTV, tirelessly telling us that, at just 24 years old, we should totally give him time to adjust. Because, you know, a player of his caliber just needs a bit of time. Surely, all the struggles he's had at Chelsea are just a warm-up for the greatness he'll deliver at Arsenal. No rush, right? Honestly, what could possibly go wrong with this signing? A true "game-changer."

We’ve already seen a bit of it this season! At first he was raw but with obvious singular talent and skill and flare. That’s quickly vanishing in place of a system generated, boring, overcoached machine that’s simply manufactured to do a job and not to be himself and accentuate his own personal natural skill. Which is also probably why Arteta refused to play him when HE was exactly what we needed when Odegaard was out! Because Arteta couldn’t “control” him and he was still too talented to Arteta. It’s fucking mind boggling. And it’s also why just about EVERY SINGLE YOUNG YOUTH FORWARD HAS LEFT THE CLUB UNDER ARTETA. Think about why that is….theres only one answer. Arteta. I know this is long, but people, please read this!!!!!!!!! If ANYONE needs more proof that Arteta has to go as he is actively killing our club, let me present you with this: Most likely our BEST left back is a man that Arteta has SHUNNED for four years. He’s doing what he did to Auba/Ozil/Lacazette/Guendouzi/Ramsdale, ALL players that we should’ve gotten good money for! Yet Arteta literally single handedly tanked their value and shipped them all off for peanuts bc why? Bc of his own personal megalomania. His own stubbornness. So what if he didn’t want them on the team!! They were still worth good money!! Play them to keep their value until you sell them, as they were still better than the replacements you brought in for them!! It’s fucking madness!! Yet we praise him for this?! Its ludacris! That was just the first sign that he’s not a top club manager! Yet he got second place 🥈 wowwww 😅 second place is a failure at top clubs. Nothing else to say. But back to my original point…Kieran Tierney, the guy many of us said could be future captain material, was literally shunned out of the club and relegated to obscurity…why? Do any of you actually remember why? Because I do. IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS PLAY. It was an injury at first. Then he came back fit. Then Arteta came along and HAD to implement HIS system…HIS SYSTEM. Not one that would bring out the best of his players. The one that HE WANTED TO PLAY FOR HIMSELF. Did that system ever get us any trophies in 5 years? Was that system successful? Maybe, the system that brings out the best of the good players you have is successful 🤔 maybe that’s how emerys team with mustafi and Pablo Mari won a trophy when Artetas team worth £750 MILLION hasn’t won anything! It’s not rocket science. A coach is there to bring out the best of the most talented players in the world. Arteta makes players worse. It’s a fact. Every player under his tutelage has gotten worse, sometimes their nature skills carry them through a bit, but it’s so blatantly clear that under just about any other manager Saka would be shining and Saliba wouldn’t have any debates, Odegaard wouldn’t be the soft passive pussy he is, hell ESR would probably still be at the team as our true #10! It’s just crazy how it’s gotten to this point. Like getting second is an achievement worthy of keeping a job. That’s not success. Progress isn’t ALMOST making it. Maybe for mid table clubs. But is that what we want Arsenal to be? Because that’s what it’s become…and it’s what a whole hell of a lot of our fans are accepting of. Oh, and it’s been widely confirmed that many of Tierney’s “injuries” weren’t legitimate at all. They were rides but the club to take him off the team sheet. Which isn’t that far fetched as it’s already happened with many others throughout this regime. Tierney would be an IMMENSE boost to this team, as he could’ve been over the last 3 years. But he’s not one of “Artetas guys” and any manager who coaches like that….isnt coaching for the good of the club.

Oh and before the “MLS being the best left back right now”….he’s not even a LB. He’s never played this position before a couple months ago. Which is yet another of Mikel Arteta’s absurd tendencies: playing players out of position constantly. All over the pitch he constantly will take players, even when they’re playing well, out of their natural position and moves them somewhere where they’re not nearly as effective. He does this over and over again, just about every match, oftentimes with multiple players/positions, all while there are other options on the bench whom are much better suited to playing the position needed. It’s just downright shocking how much he actually actively hurts the team.

I think the last transfer window just shows a lack of preparation from Arteta and his team. I can bet he was the only coach from a big European side looking at Mikel Merino and thought to himself that this guy can help us win a tittle. He’s an average player!Don’t get me started on Sterling! Mikel even admitted himself that he wasn’t even in his plans until the final hours of the summer window. He couldn’t even get in Chelsea’s squad yet he’s gna help us win the tittle! Worst is , he doesn’t even play him! Saka gets injured and then he starts calling for Sterling to return! 😂 The guy he doesn’t play! , you can’t make it up. He gave Nketiah a new contract knowing full well that he weren’t gd enough at this level , he doesn’t even start for Palace!
