Scottie. I agree with you on a lot of things but the best Luxury car ever made was the 2002 to 2011 Lincoln Town Car. These cars have a 4.6L V8 SOHC and they get 27mpg on the HWY and they will go 300k to 400k all day long with just regular maintenance. They have a full frame and are RWD and parts for them are cheap because they are used in many Ford products and they are easy to work on.

I just bought a 2002 Lexus ES 300 with 160,500 miles one owner serviced at the Lexus dealership from day one through 110,000 miles. At 88,000 miles the Lexus owners portal says the original owner changed the timing belt, water pump, and valve cover gasket. The interior is like new. Just swapped out the in-dash CD changer/cassette player for a touch screen Alpine receiver with a separate back up camera. Amazing condition, rides and feels like its 5 years old not 19 !! Best is I sold my 2013 ES350 with 42k miles for the 2002 ES300 !! The build quality on the 2002 is better, everything works !

I love my Lexus es330! I had the same problem with the rear passenger window. It didn't need a new actuator! I ran a credit card along the window stripping seam, where it meets the glass to separate it. Then I slammed the door a few times while holding down the power window switch (in the down position). It worked! Then I sprayed some silicone on the weather stripping. No issues one year later.

I bought a 2002 ES300 new back in July of 2002. Alabaster w/cream interior - ML sound (only 7 speakers!) and power rear shade. The car was super quiet and road like a bowl of extra-creamy Cool Whip but handling was not sloppy. The styling was non-existent but the interior was perfection and I really liked that car. Sold it in 2006 for 22K w/26K miles. That was the best car I've had except for my 2011 Venza FWD V6 w/53K miles which I still have. Styling is subjective but dependability will never go out of style!

I bought a 2003 ES300 from a friend who owned three (for his wife & daughters) Lexuses, and maintained them himself. Best deal I ever got, and nicest car I've ever owned! (and yes, the steering wheel squeals/rubs, like corduroy pants)

Tip: i use to have a 2004 lexus es330, when i bought it the previous owner told me only problem was 2 back windows quit working. once i got it home i sat in the back seat, slammed the back doors a couple times WHILE holding down the button to roll down the window. Fixed both of my "broken" windows in 5-10 minutes.

I had a ‘99 Lexus es300 with almost 400k miles on the clock and I drove the heck out of it. I did just the basic maintenance. The only thing I replaced was the transmission other than that it was in rough condition but still drove reliably. I only got rid of it because I inherited my grandmas 2014 Toyota Corolla.

The Canadian TV show Canada’s Worst Driver actually used an ES - a fourth-gen XV30 like this one - for the water tank challenge in Season 14. It looked like it was a 2001-2003 pre-facelift model under all that foam.

I was really hoping you would show another LS430 but the v6 is great to show and this is what I sold my first car to buy a v6 es330. I put that car through hell and back but it survived until I sold it then it got it’s tires slashed at my local mall. Fwd is great for rain car sticks to ground with good tires. I bought my ls430 for 3k it was originally 71k. Look around you can always find something for a low price. Use auto tempest and learn and research!

$500 would only buy you an alternator repair job at most garages, including changing the water pump while that is taken apart at the same time. Toyota and Honda vehicles would survive owner abuse, while most of the others would have their vehicles start to fall apart merely by being exposed to air and moisture, by just existing.

Lol I bought my 2000 es300 February of 2020. Had 164350 miles. Bought for $750. Had VC oil leak, bank 1,2 cats needed replaced , all 4 struts, I ended up changing all 6 injectors , ignition coils and spark plugs. The prior owner had all rotors and pads changed out with reman rear calipers. Water pump timing belt were replaced at Lexus at 130,000 miles oh coolant too. I just need to do a drain and refill with the atf. I’ve changed the oil at 5000 miles so 3 times already has 171,675 currently. Bosal has great OEM exhaust parts. I lost $550 for ordering with sum Canadian company. I have the champagne tan colored es300 beautiful car. It’s actually my dream car. I own a 08 rx350 and 04 rwd sequoia also oh and 06 Corolla. Luv my vehicles

The best part of this video was Scotty talking of the Price Gouging and how people will go across the street to Toyota. As an example I live in Newnan GA and Southtowne Motors here in Newnan has 10 and 20k markups on their Sierras and Silverados (AT4s and TBosses). They are the highest in the nation but other GM dealers are doing the same thing as I have checked them all. They "think" there won't be repercussions for this. LOL. Now I am getting ready to buy the upcoming Tundra. What is really unreal is the rudeness of the GM salespeople I've ran into and I have the emails to prove it. One dealership in IL had advertised Trailboss for 58k and when I was about to buy it he said they made a mistake and said the price is 72000. Southtowne in Newnan has an Orange Trailboss for sale with a lift kit for over 80000 yet the truck MSRP without lift is 57k. Does a lift kit cost 23000? No it does not because I install these and the best of them are 3500 parts and labor. LOL.

How tf does he get an ES300 for $500? They sell regularly for 5k and up for this generation, even with high miles. But few used cars are this well made, so honestly it’s worth it. Scotty doesn’t lie tho I have a 2000 with the same 3.0 VVTI motor (I just have a 4 spd auto instead of the 5 spd) with 278k on an all original drivetrain - I’ll never ever get rid of it.

I couldn't find an ES300 for $500, but I bought one for $3k plus a civic with 270k that I had totaled.......twice. I used it as a daily for 4 years and put 40k on it. I got fantastic service, although the check engine light would come on briefly on rare occasions. I sold it for $3k and replaced it with a used RX350, another great Lexus.

I have an '05 ES330 with about 79,000 miles and the original timing belt. It is a second car that spends most of its time in my garage. After listening to Scotty I will have my mechanic check the condition of the timing belt. Its not the number of miles that worries me, its the age of the belt. It has been a great car. If anything bad happened to it I would be sick.

Hey Scotty, you convinced me to pick up a Toyota 4 Runner for my next daily driver, with a little trailer for when I need to do truck stuff. One of the main selling points is that they stand by their product and they garauntee their rust prevention coating for life. I'm sick of my pickup truck frames getting rotten up here in Pennsylvania.

Squirt some silicone spray on the squeaky steering components that are contacting. Or file some graphite dust from a 2B pencil. I use that in locks too and blow it in with a straw. Don`t suck! Clean valve cover leak area externally with cellulose thinners and cover offending area with dollop of silicone RTV gasket cement. From UK.
