I sometimes have similar issues with my dad’s 2016 F350 that he has had for a few years. It’s had to go in for repair several times but only one was for anything engine related (emmisions sensor). The other times were for electrical issues (headlights had some bad wiring), AC issues (needed a recharge), or minor body work (fuel neck, tailgate trim, tires, etc). Otherwise it actually runs better than most of my dad’s trucks outside of his 2015 Tundra and his 87 Bronco (all of the other trucks are almost 30 years older than the 2016 F350 or the 2015 Tundra and all have issues even if they do run). Ironically almost all of my dad’s trucks are Fords. He has two other F350’s that are from 1990 and 1986 and an F450 from 1988 and all three have issues

From the seventys to 86 was the best years for ford, one issue with the 70's was keeping the fenders hood grill and etc in line but with the old 300 straight six they'd run forever from 80 to 86 was by far the best body design ever built being the old bull nose models, that being said we own 11 of them from 70's to 80's all with the unkillible 4.9 liter straight six, all run fine all has over 500k miles , my favorite of the 11 is the all custom i built from wheels up myself, just pocketed three grand from a bet with chevy lover debating on who has the better truck between him and i on whether I'd make it to a million miles or not, well need to say he just paid me, didnt want to but a bet is a bet I'll be sure to use that for another couple sets of tires there for my ol faithful is still going strong 1,056,071 miles to this day to be exact his newer silverado died on 217k im surprised it made it that far 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I know this vid is over a year old and someone may never read this but there are a few things Scotty left out. Dodge has been making trucks since world war 2, they released the power wagon to the public after WW2 it had 4wd and a V8. They've been around a lot longer than he said.. My dad purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 and it gets better gas mileage than my mom's ford expedition with the 3.5L EcoBoost, it has MDS technology which means it goes down to a 4 cylinder when not accelerating. Ram has definitely stepped up their game and deserve better than last.

And Ford had Model T pickups and small flatbeds back in the teens that could also drive a saw or pump belt on the jobsite. Even had a drop top pickup which is really cool. Saw one at a show. Wanted it. I think he means just the modern pickup with a 4x8 box bed (step and fleet side) that US companies started pushing after 1945 when they resumed customer sales.

@Datsun77055 жыл бұрын
The 19 Ram 1500 saved 200+lbs from an aluminum tailgate and it’s more sleeker than older ones. The F150 is just light overall because of its all aluminum body.
@hunterhobbs43745 жыл бұрын
The two things my dad can’t stand about his 2019 f-150 is the 10 speed transmission, and the auto shutdown feature to save gas mileage by turning off the engine every time you stop. He did like the 2015 f-150 a lot better than the 2019. It had more power and seemed to just do a better job all around. That 10 speed transmission is not good for towing purposes. Please let me know what you think
@snakeeyes92465 жыл бұрын
My dad has a 2017 Audi A4 (which obviously isn't a truck), but it has the engine shut off feature too. I think it's convenient, and he does too. It only has 17000 miles, but could easily last 200,000+
@supersnot45 жыл бұрын
Just towed a ~5000lb trailer on a 2000+ mile round trip. I borrowed my dad's '19 F-150, 2.7L 10 speed. (I have an '89 F-250 and a '96 F-150, it was much more comfy) As far as transmissions go, I fell in love. It was the most responsive new automatic I've ever driven, and shifted seamlessly. I usually hate the different software "modes" on new cars, but these ones actually worked. Tow/Haul, while not necessary, was a godsend on long downhills. The transmission seamlessly downshifted with brake application, and held gears appropriately. I loved it. As for auto stop/start. Maybe I'm biased, because my daily is a hybrid. But it's completely unobtrusive and never activates when the conditions aren't appropriate. In fact, as soon as the trailer was plugged in it never activated at all. Also, it's one button to turn it off.
