I finally went back and finished this game after your Mafia 1 playthrough got me back into it. Apparantly i was only a couple chapters off when i quit. It was kinda janky, and i like the presentation of M1 Remake better, but it was still fun. Hard sometimes. Looking forward to the playthrough!

Oooo my favorite one of the series. It's kinda like GTA. You get rob the gun stores for free weapons/ammo. Or the clothing shops for new outfits. In both cases there are cash registers you can take money from. Just gotta avoid the cops. Also the garage to change your cars paint/license plate. You'll enjoy it

I think they were used as a loading screen in the original release for Xbox 360 and PS3, and since it’s remastered for a new console, the loading is much faster, hence the split second where you can’t even read it. I’ve noticed this problem in many remastered games.

Not sure if you've noticed, but during the loading screens in this game, sometimes it'll show a quote from Tommy during his testimony against Salieri, which I find to be a good detail.

This remastered collection was a "yeah why not" purchase for me, finally getting around to playing them was a very smart choice. Excellent narratives, likable protagonists, great characterization. For me, the gameplay takes a backseat to the story with these; a good story goes a long way. I hope you enjoy this one and make the jump to number 3!

The Mafia games are great. I played the first original Lost Heaven on pc. If you really think about it the plot of all three games centers around one of the deadly sins. Mafia 1 is greed. Mafia 2 is envy, and Mafia 3 is wraith.

I would recommend aiming for the center of the body and not the head. You'll have a easier time in gun fights. ​@LiteWeightGaming It's a shame but what can you do 🤷🏽‍♂️. Few tips if you're interested, this game has some nuances and some things aren't outlined via tutorials. 1. You can buy clothes, there are clothing stores all over the city and one high end clothing store. 2. Cars do run out of gas, you can visit any gas station to fill up, or use the car wash. 3. Any cars you steal can be added to your personal garage. 4. Certain missions have hidden side objectives, pay attention to what you're being told during briefing for clues. 5. Press "X" to activate your speed limiter. If you speed, the police will try to issue you a ticket. If you refuse the ticket they will try to arrest you. If you avoid arrest they will use deadly force. You can bribe them during arrest or use a phone booth or a phone at your safehouse(s). Driving at high speeds can be deadly. The driving physics on this game are some of the best out there for non driving sim games. Crashes will damage you, and at high enough speeds will kill you outright. If you need health between missions, use the fridge in safehouse or hotdog stall or diner. Rob shops for quick cash. Be sure to get in and out fast, and be extra careful robbing gun stores, the owners are armed.

Great game but quite different from Mafia (1), more interactive (gun& clothing shops, food vendors, bars, car customization, selling stolen cars etc etc). it's also more dirty: criminals from 30's/ Mafia were classy, criminals from Mafia 2 are just... criminals. btw definite edition is more buggy than the classic version, very little graphical improvement (it's not like Mafia DE which is completely different game from original Mafia)

Here is an interesting lesson in italian: I find a surname like "Pappalardo" quite amusing. This is because it combines two words: "Pappa" and "Lardo". The first is a colloqial expression for food or a meal, depending on the phrasing and context, whilst the second translates into the english word "Lard". In conclusion, "Pappalardo" can be anglicanised into the name: "Lardmeal"! Funny, right?
