I am 99.9% you have mentioned that was your favorite artwork out of Evolving Skies before the very recent video you are referring to. To anyone that pays attention, that would obviously imply that you like that one out of the two Umbreon artworks. Personally, I’ve always agreed, even before I knew your opinion. One looks like Umbreon is a stray dog and you’ve come into his domaine. You are trapped by his commanding presence, and if you have walked into Umbreon’s alleyway, you must face its wrath. The other looks like it’s a cat playing with the moon as if it’s a piece of yarn rather than howling, so I’ve always found that artwork a bit odd compared to the money it commands. Though, I do like the patterns and color scheme. It is very visually appealing, but they both are in my humble opinion.

Umbreon is nice and all, but the real gem in the set imo is the Alt Golurk V. That card is straight up Studio Ghibli Castle in the Sky and I love it.

Not to undermine you or anything but I think people are getting the singles while they can for evolving since the costs for a booster box don't justify opening it , so people are going for raw instead as it's a cheaper and for sure chance to have the card. Personally, I picked one up last week cause I had credits at an LGS. I was waiting for it to come into stock and sniped it. Since about mid-February, my goal was to complete getting all the alt arts from evolving. Your video did not influence me buying mine. All that said youtubers do have an influence on cards, but I wouldn't weigh too heavily on the influencing a specific card that is already kinda in a category where it is the fastest growing modern sets to begin with. Gotta love the chase though , I have about 100 loose packs I open 5 , every month or so , last time I opened 5, I got the rayquaza v alt🎉🎉

Something a little funny that happened during that business with the aerodactyl skyrocketting is that the japanese version also saw a hike in price. Was about 40 bucks and around the time the english one began to skyrocket the japanese one doubled in price too.

booster boxes will always cost more and the reason is that people believe that they haven't been tampered with.. buying loose packs is always a risk, let alone it would be difficult to find someone selling 36 booster packs all at once for $10 each

I mean tye 2nd re print of evolving skies was infinitely worse than the first printing. Idr exactly what happened but I remember someone got fired for stealing tons of umbreons and stuff from the 2nd round of printings, so the hits just seems waaay less in general compared to the first wave. I don't blame you for not wanting to keep opening them. I still remember the original evolving skies being a blast to open, full of hits, but the 2nd wave felt much much more lack luster.
