He didn't say it here but on the podcast he said he went to a certified Rolex retailer afterwards and the employees were like "there's no experts here that can certify if a watch is a real". That shaking man is truly goated
@boopdeeb94442 жыл бұрын
@@bruno0_u just a guess but that's likely because they have a process to authencate the watch. Even if the employee is 99% sure the watch is fake, they can't just say it. Noel even said that once he held the real thing, he could instantly tell his watch is fake.
@ReikaRei2 жыл бұрын
He was probably checking if it had an automatic movement or quartz. Automatic movements make a whirring noise when you shake them so if it makes no sound it’s quartz (battery operated) and is almost certainly fake since almost all high-end watches have automatic or hand-wound movements.
@TioMogi2 жыл бұрын
@@ReikaRei I mean it'd have to be a realllll shitty fake to not even be automatic lmao. Even the crap $50 Chinatown fakes use automatic movements. I'm sure you know but there are different movements (the engine as noel compares it to) so he might have been able to tell by shaking it that it was a lower quality movement than Rolex uses in authentic watches (ie loose tolerances between piece parts causing a rattling sound).

I suppose because it's an instant signifier to others that you're rich enough to pay for useless shit (for the poor) or that you dress up appropriately (for the rich), so it's like lying that you have a phd just to be admired. I will never understand why a perfectly nice looking watch that JUST TELLS TIME LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO, would ever need be worth such as insane amount of money. What's with people thinking extremely overpriced shit is impressive or stylish. All you're telling me is that your desperately in need of social validation to spend so much money so poorly. Even when your rich, just think about the amount of good you could do for yourself and others instead of throwing away over 20k.
@koszonet2 жыл бұрын
For people who can actually *afford* a Rolex, buying one is the same as a regular person buying a digital Casio or something. That amount of money doesn’t register as a lot for them. It’s the people who spend their entire savings on a Rolex and then are broke because of it that are the clowns 2 people are buying a t shirt and have to choose between A: spending £40, and B: spending £400 Person A earns £350 a week, person B ears 20k a week. For person A: the first t shirt is about 10% of their weekly income, and the 2nd is 115% For person B: the first is less than 1% and the second is 2% of their weekly income. Person A chooses T shirt A because it’s easy to separate the items based on income. Person B chooses either, because there’s not much difference between T shirts A and B in terms of cost vs their income. Eat the rich.

I'm make less than the average person, I have time and again given away more than 80% of my savings to those around me who need it more. I barely get by, but I see it as a fantastic trade to help those who deserve it. That's why I get especially pissed over the concept of people who so much money just not giving a shit about anyone but them and theirs.

@@idontneedaname318 Right, but how many people can distinguish such high craftsmanship in the first place? Only a very select few. Why go to that effort, and spend that kind of money? At that price, I think it's borderline unhealthy to care that much about what people think of you, that you would spend so much money, even if it's not a lot to you.

Got gifted a fake rolex by someone once, swore black and blue it was real. Felt real, seemed real. Went to a watch repair guy, turned out it was fake. Same deal. Wore it round a bunch even though I knew it was fake afterwards lol

I’ve got a dad and a stepdad and I love one of them more and the $$$ show it. Also, it would be hilarious if she starting buying everything he asked for and gave it to her dad instead.

in my first internship in college i spent like 1/4 of my literal first salary on a bottle of wine for my dad for father's day. so i'm guessing my answer for most i would spend on my father is 25% of my income

This makes me remember of my ex boyfriend, 3 years ago I flew over seas to move in with him, i had my savings. When I arrived, he stopped working, he didn't quit, nah, he just stopped going to work and his boss kept calling to know what was going on. He smoked a lot so his money went in the 🍃. I paid the the rent when i arrived and then while searching for a job i ask my parents for some help. They sent me money, he would not let me use the money my parents sent and controlled how much i could use. He would buy cigarettes and 🍃, and chocolate chip cookies for himself, and since i was vegan i couldn't eat the cookies and he wouldn't let me buy nuts or any snack for myself because "we didn't have money for that", my card was his basically. And one day i insisted because i was tired of eating white rice and canned beans and he stormed out the grocery store and started crying i mean bawling his eyes out, ugly ugly loud crying, and he ran in the rain hunching his back like a puking cat (so dramatic) and i ran after him apologizing for wanting to buy a bag of chips because he had bought milk chocolate for himself... and i had no snack for myself so basically i would have to watch him eat his delicious chocolate while i would just drink some water? when i found a job as a teacher it was the same, he found a part time job and i earned 3 times more than him, he made me buy him a scooter, tones of 🍃, phones he kept breaking, i paid the rent and all the bills, when i gave him money to buy groceries he would buy a couple tomatoes a bag of rice and 3 eggplants and would keep the rest of the money.A grown man ✨✨✨
