I'm Spending an ENTIRE YEAR on One World | October Edition

People who play Terraria play the game too fast, basically speed running. So I figured I'd do something different, and just take my time. So, I am spending an entire year on one world on the Terraria Clamity mod with each stage of progression being blocked until the start of a new month. This month I can kill profaned guardian, profaned goddess, the sentinels, and polterghast. Listed below are the progression locks I'll be facing on this journey and come next December we'll finally defeat the final boss!

Yes, I actually have gotten a pirate captain Banner ( _at least_ 5 of them across worlds). Other highlights include: a Nymph one, a Cultist Archer and a Lunitic Devotee one, a Tim and a Rune Wizard Banner, and my proudest one is the Paladin banner. Basically, of all the games I've played, I've kept at least one "stack" (*) of everything I've found, and put it in a single map I call "Storage Center". I plan on making a new world called "Storage _Facility_ " after my playthrough in the next update. It's going to be much more aesthetic, and be spread a bit more across the world in themed-ish rooms and houses with a plylon network, instead of just an apartment building with rows and rows of chests outside. But the point will still be the same... to collect everything I can from survival and keep it in one place. I think of it as my own personal game journey. ;) ---------- (everything beyond here isn't necessary for the comment I wanted to share, but it does share some details of how organized I try to be with these storage worlds. Read at your own risk) ---------- (*) So if it's an unstackable item like armor, I have *one*, if it's a semi-common material like jungle wood, I have a stack of 9999. There are exceptions. On the one hand, I have several Terraspark Boots and Rods of Discords and Harmonies, for example. And on the other hand, I only ever keep 5 of any of single banner on hand, and just sell off the rest. Stone has a dedicated chest. Both Dirt and Sand each have two rows of their main block per chest, and then one row each for variants (mud, clay, hardened sand, and sandstone). One chest is just half snow, and half ice. The infected blocks have a whole chest, with a main row each for Stone, Enbonstone, and Crimstone, with the last row holding one stack each of the other things like pink ice, or hardened crimsand. For most other materials I have one stack of 999, since I only decided to include basic materials _after_ the max was moved from 99, but collected full stacks before it was moved to 9999.

40:07 I’d suggest doing a more vertical sky island, with a pointy underside rather than flat. Then rather than fully coating the underside with clouds, do several smaller clouds wrapping partially around it in a 3D appearance rather than the flat 2D

I’ve been doing for the worthy on hardcore legendary. I’m in a similar boat. It’s been like 3 months, and I’ve still only killed king slime and EoC. When you get to certain difficulties, terraria kinda *forces* you to take your time, and *REALLY* prepare.

Hey Throarbin! With your cloud town to make the clouds look better you could put actuated clouds or cloud walls around the clouds for little wisps. You could also put rain clouds for shadows in the clouds if you wanted

I can't wait to see what he does with the Auric Ore(ore given via Yharon's defeat, from my memory.) that spawns around the world for its bouncy-electric property which persists given a second block separate from the ore itself. One Month Late: Dunno if anyone told you, but Calamity also added another weapon that forces you to wait. It's the one from Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, the Mura....sama? I can't remember if it's sama or masa. Anyway, you get it in the Hell Draedon Lab and you can't actually USE IT until you defeat Yharon. Not...QUITE as egregious as forcing you to wait until after Exo-Mechs and Calamitas, but at the same time, you kinda...have to wait LONGER, if you think about it. You could theoretically get the blade as soon as you start the game, whereas with the Profaned crystal you just have to wait a couple bosses. Disregarding how difficult it is to even DO the challenge of getting it in the first place...and I just realized I rambled. Whoops.
