Weird to me that people think you respecting the copyright and work of a professional costumer, when recreating the work of a production company that I'm sure has the financial means to pursue legal action, is gatekeeping. When a show transfers from Broadway to the West End (and I guess vice versa too), we start EVERYTHING from scratch. Sometimes we get to look at the original Broadway costumes for reference, a few photos taken by the designer, and some of the fabric suppliers might be the same, but we get no patterns, no instructions, nothing. We start again from the sketch. That's how strict the Intellectual Property and Copyright protection is. Or that's my experience at least. You've done the right thing in protecting your source and the IP of the original makers. Good luck with your dress!

Random idea. I know you sell prints at conventions, but what would be cool to me as a sewist instead would be to buy a signed swatch. Like scrap project fabric with 2 sequins stitched to a card.

I LOVE This idea! I am actually trying to phase out prints and make things more focused on the making aspect of what I do so this is a really cool idea, I still have cast off resin gems from Sakizou that won Twitchon, and embroidered flowers from Ariels gown that placed at the Crowns sooo there's definitely somewhere to start. My brain is buzzzing with ideas now

Thank you, I will say it's a daily practice lol some days I am not in the best mindset and other days I am. I think the next step for me is going to be acknowledging the not so great days and figuring out what I need on those days to do so that I don't take 6 months off from this project again lol

Do what is best for you. Glenda is a huge project.. I'm stuck on making Belle's yellow dress. .I'm not happy with it so progress has slowed to a stop qnd by the time I'm happy with the skirts . I'll have remake the bodice. Pick small projects to make as you become inspired. Be kind to yourself.

It really can be, social media really does change how we create art which is why I am trying to also reframe social media, it can be an extension of my art. What I post and how I post it can be a form of art, if I let it.

I would love doing a zoom class with you to help me with some pattern adjustment learning. I’m glad you’re going to be working on Glenda again. I'm not sure if I will be doing zoom type classes, with the amount of traveling I have scheduled for 2023 it might not be in the books but the classes that I offer at conventions will hopefully become online courses so people can still have access to them if I am not traveling anywhere close to you.

That's completely understandable, for me, I simply don't have enough time for one on one style coaching. As of right now I have no plans to make my way to Dallas in 2023 I am almost booked to the maximum amount of shows I can do in a year so I might not make it there next year but who knows for future years.
