When you talk to the agent about a new contract, you can request that nothing is set as non-negotiable. If they agree, you can remove any release clauses being requested.

The lack of AI investment is definitely something I found with Aston Villa in my save. I took over them in April 2028 for my NLTL as a second club, and am about where you are now with them in my save universe, and whilst there's still a fair few old men around, I managed to eject about half of them and replace them with my 6 up and coming

Still think Burton will finish comfortably top-10. In most other editions of FM this would be the beginning of a failure spiral, but this FM is coded differently and the human player has to really mess up to fail. This time tomorrow we'll be looking at a vertical line of almost all green dots for recent matches on Kev's Schedule screen.

FM24 is an excellent edition of the series but it is really annoying that we were told AI squad building was going to be revamped and improved this year when in reality it's just as bad, if not worse, as it's always been.

The game is full of bugs. This capacity/season tickets ratio is just hilarious. I've had a player who was asking for crazy pay-rise to renew his contract, so I let him go on a free. A couple of weeks or so later, same player, same manager, he re-signed for less money than he was on initially. Full real life simulation there, Sports Interactive.
